Was it out of a bloody minded desire to wage a war or was it out of one or two worries over Ukraine first becoming an E.U, member, then a NATO member'? I understand there are hundreds of thousands of Russian speakers in Ukraine and Ukraine had special Waffen units of Nazis before 1945, consisting entirely of Ukranians. The Western analysts need also to remind themselves of two centuries of Russian history within Ukraine before the USSR was born. USA was willing to risk a nuclear war with the USSR during the Cuban Missile crisis. Surely, the West should see a parallel here with NATO missiles in Ukraine!!
