    I wasn't a fan at first, but as the series endured, I accepted it as pretty cool, for being different. Season 5 with all the JL crossover is my favorite. I'm still puzzled as to why the film "Batman vs Dracula" wasn't included with this set.

    Andrea Romano was a fantastic voice/ casting director. She worked on a lot of animated shows we all grew up on and seemed to make near perfect decisions.

    • @pungisotu
      @pungisotu 2 года назад

      Indeed. I don’t know what her role in the choices was for each decision but the special features on Batman TAS reveals she worked closely with producers on making casting choices.

    • @boogerman908
      @boogerman908 2 года назад

      @@pungisotu my understanding generally is that she picks the voice actors and/or directs them and she was behind a lot of the top tier animation of the 80s thru the 2000s especially dc and we projects. Nearly every animated series that had a batman had her behind the voice directing. Very sad she retired.

    I really liked The Batman. I felt like I was the only one out there defending it when it first aired. I still have the original season dvd boxsets. I think it just got better as it when on, and despite it's weird designs it had a real Batman atmosphere. The triple shot of this, Batman Begins, and the Grant Morrison comic run, made the character for the 2000s IMO.
    ( I NEVER knew it had all those huge actors on the voices!)
    I feel like the "Vs Dracula" film might have a whole other fanbase, I mean personally I actually know people who aren't into Batman or this show, who like that film as Dracula fans.
    Funny how U2/ the Edge were associated with Batman again after Forever
    This show has so much style and flow, as shocking as it sounds I almost prefer rewatching this to the 90s show sometimes.

    I really enjoyed this series and even though the character styles were changed, it really kept the batman essence making it work. Too bad this pack does not include the Batman vs Dracula movie. That was a big bummer for this new release.

    Excellent points you made in this video. Also, I have to compliment you on your art direction: glasses, shirt, changing background. I can't think of another show that even considers such elements; very organic. Well done.

    I enjoyed the show, it was really good, I just enjoy cartoons, I grew up in the 70’s , they dedicated cartoons for us as well as commercials, so not having good cartoons on tv anymore, when this 1st came out I was so excited, I really enjoyed it every Saturday like a kid again, that 1st Batmobile was good gracious it was so cool , I was upset when they got rid of it, but what was strange to me was that I think someone else was drawing the cartoon later because the characters looked different from the previous seasons, but still was great

    I loved watching this as a kid, like, I only ever had like, the first volume of it tho, but I did finally watch the series after I bought it on iTunes. It's so fun to watch, I was honestly decided to get it leading up to the new Batman movie. It's an awesome cartoon I think.

    Batman Year Three. Took a few seasons to get good. Once the sidekicks got introduced it hit its stride. At first I was disappointed with the simple criminal they made Mr. Freeze but I came to appreciate the simple fun of it all.

    The backgrounds...betchu thought we wouldn't notice lol! Yeah, James Bond Jr. Was one of those kind of "gateway drug" cartoon series. I missed out on this one, unfortunately so I feel like I need to go back. I am frankly surprised what they let some of the Wonder Woman animated films get away with! I'm sitting here watching this DC animated film, ostensibly for children, or at least kids would be watching it...

    Personally, I love this style of animation way better than TAS 90's. Cobblepot is stellar with his Martial Arts skills and Clayface is tight. The Joker is crazy as always but young Bruce Wayne is Super tight. Great stories. A+ in my book. The only person that got on my nerves is Catwoman. The voice acting is Top Notch as well. Hugo Strange was reaaally creepy. Glad this finally got a blu ray release. Got them all on dvd. Time to sell em

  • @Hadam10Rose

    If you count Gotham as a Batman series, Hugo Strange was the main antagonist for one of the seasons. Can't remember which one, but he was played by the actor who played Dr Wo in Jurassic Park/World.

    I didn't watch this show that much ad a kid, Justice League was my preferred DC show at the time, but I do remember watching the Batman vs Dracula movie once and the scene where Joker drinks the blood was burned into my memory.

    When I first saw the show I initially didn’t like it because it looked so different than what I was expecting and I compared it to B:TAS. However, after a few minutes I decided that I was being unfair to the cartoon by not having an open mind and applying unreasonable expectations. I decided to let the show be its own thing. If it’s bad then it’s bad. Regardless of anything I’d judge it on its own merits. I still love B:TAS and will always believe that it’s the most authentic adaptation of Batman in all media. I still enjoyed and and have a fondness for this newer Batman cartoon. I can love and appreciate them both without being critical, or without one competing for my admiration in spite of the other. I enjoy both individually for what they are, ultimately that is too great Batman cartoon adaptations.

    Great review that has convinced me to give that series another chance. I only watched a couple of episodes, and I decided it wasn't for me. I probably overreacted to how different it was from Batman The Animated Series which I loved. Why fix something that isn't broke? Anyway, I like and really like all of the subsequent series, especially the Brave and the Bold which hits that sixties go-go checks silver age sweet spot.

      As a Batman: TAS fan, some of the revisionist origins and approaches to The Batman felt off-putting, but I really do enjoy the show and its very unique art direction and approach. It must have been tough, being tasked with bringing Batman to a new generation of kids and trying to find an approach that hand't been done before while also honoring the darker traditions of the character. The mid-aughts were such an interesting time for cartoons. Little did I know at the time that Saturday morning animation would soon be a thing of the past, never to return.

    This was my show Growing Up right next to the Animated Series and Batman Beyond! I bought so many toys of this show I really wish they made more seasons of this show! for the longest time I hated Batman Brave and the Bold I was like how could they cancel this show and replace it with that? now I really love Brave and the Bold the way it has so many references to the Silver age of comics! I really hope that the Batman vs Dracula comes out on Blu-ray!

    (Didn't want RUclips to eat my comment if it ran long lol!) And there's a scene where we see Steve Trevor wake up under the Purple Healing Ray. He looks down at his arm and ACTUALLY says "S***!". In an *animated movie*!". I'm like 'how'!?". Not to mention some of the battle scenes, but then again, Amazons so yeah...

    I skipped this series when it was originally on, I was in that stage of life where I was going "I'm to old for cartoons" and hiding my hobbies from friends. I think they call it tween now. Also I was going through my Trek phase. The few hours of tv I was allowed to watch, I watched TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise. Which ever series SpikeTV was airing at the time home work and chores were done. I could only skip out on work if it was a two patter and I had already seen part 1. My dad, who had already seen them all, wanted to let me see how it ended.

    Daaaaaaaaaaaaam they finally put it on blu ray. I made a custom set years ago. Well time to upgrade 💪😁 let's goooooooooo. And the Batman vs Dracula was aired at a special time at night when it first came out but when they re aired for day time they didnt show certain parts on tv. But as to that R rating for G.I Joe they had a couple close ones. Resolute was close.
