Your transparency about behavioral issues , discipline, and emotional stress is really refreshing . Not many people in your field of work like to admit it’s not… pie in the sky …all the time.
We did that Not Consumed Navigating Friendships during the summer with our book club and we absolutely loved it too!!! Girl! Tough seasons!! Praying for you! Thankful for your content. Also, you look beautiful!
That is a genius idea about gradually putting pictures into Chatbooks! It takes me forever to go through my pictures every year! I'm getting on that now!!
I appreciate you touching on the behavioral issues. We homeschool and sometimes it feels like everyone on YT has a perfect homeschool and kids who never have bad days. Thanks for making me feel more normal 😂
Oh my gosh friend!! It is SO HARD when your kids grow up… I have graduated 3 kids that all started at home from the beginning…. Your mamas heart is so conflicted. You want them to stall little but desire to see them grow into adults. I still have two at home in 9th and 10th grade so I love your channel. It is just where I am. I had my facilitator (in Canada, are at least in Alberta, we have a meeting with someone from the school board twice a year) said to me when my kids were little that when your child graduates, aka, gets their drivers license, you are mostly done being in control of their learning… I didn’t believe it till it happened with my oldest. They get their license then a job and they’re off into the world. Making their own choices. It goes way too fast!! Thank you for sharing your family journey with us! I love it so much!
Whoa!!! What a whirlwind your first quarter! I find that I structure my homeschool similar to yours so I put myself in your shoes as you were describing everything and I cannot imagine how tough that truly was! I’m so grateful you had amazing outcome and I love what that homeschool mama shared with you about the morning basket. That is really encouraging. It’s tough letting go… you’re doing amazing! Thanks for always sharing and encouraging us!
I appreciate your videos. It was very informative all that you said about dual enrollment and kids getting older. Sometimes I get tunnel vision and I don’t recognize what to look forward to when my kids are a little older. This was very helpful. You’re my favorite homeschool channel. Many things you said helped me realized to just keep one foot in front of the other and to tie my boots tight and keep going.
You touched on discipline stuff and I understand and respect that you don’t want to share individual issues. You listed off something that we also deal with at home. Disrespect, interruptions, focus etc… I’m the membership would it be possible to talk more in depth about how you handle these things when they do come up? What’s worked what hasn’t etc?
Thank you so much for this video Ashlee. Your honestly and transparency are so refreshing. I’m not seeing the Tuttle Twins book link. Any chance you could give me further details on that. Thank you!
Does your daughter already have a goal for what she wants to major in or is she just taking basic college classes first to get some out of the way and then she will decide after graduation?
I’m one of those mommas! 🙋🏼♀️ My 2 oldest now have jobs and the other 3 are elementary aged. It’s so difficult to navigate that change and adapt your homeschool.
Our school has changed a lot this year. My oldest is 16 and a junior. He got a job about 2 months ago and works 10-4, Mon-Thursday. I'm having to learn to do things with my other kids without him. I want to do all fun stuff with all of them, but my oldest just can't make his schedule work for that. It's hard for this mama!
He has all the other time to work on school. He gets up and does an hour or 2 before work. He does stuff after work. And we have weekends to work on things. Thankfully, that's a blessing of homeschool. We don't only have 8-3 Monday thru Friday to work on school ❤️
@@amielawson8344 The same way a kid who attends school and works does, only in reverse! :) I used to go to school 830-315, then I’d work one job 330-5 and a second job 530-930 4 nights a week! (Don’t ask me when I did homework, I usually didn’t 🤪)
I bet it seems like such an accomplishment when your child takes something on, like a job and a college class, on their own. How exciting! I really strive to teach my kids responsibility and can’t wait to see how they use their skills. 😊
Do you not do a co-op? what about extracurriculars like dance, sports, gymnastics, etc.? Do you not do any extras like those during quarter one? I am having my hubby listen to the part where you talk about the first 6 weeks! I just can't get him on board with not going anywhere! He always wants to take a weekend vacation and always go somewhere on the weekends. I am like you where I need to be home that first amount of weeks in order for the year to have a good start! You are my #1 inspiration here in the YT homeschool world! I know that I can do it all and fit it all in one day and that IT IS POSSIBLE because of you! Do you know of any other YT homeschooling moms that are like you that I could watch? I want you to know how amazing you are! Thank you for sharing about the negative too! The hard moments you are talking about ARE HARD but they are normal and we as your subs need to hear about them! I remember that one DITL you did a few years ago where you showed the real and the raw those bad moments in that day you shared them instead of cutting them out! That video meant so much to me! Thanks for sharing!
would you and your eldest daughter make a video during college breaks so she can help guide new homeschool graduates starting college? I think it would be soooo helpful.
I love that she finished a 7 week course already!! I was looking at classes for my daughter to take in a couple years and noticed they had 7 week classes. I was excited that she could do that instead of taking a longer course during xc/track seasons.
I started watching your channel a few months ago…and have been watching all your older videos…from like 5-6 years ago! What grade are your children currently in?! Thx!
Thank you so much for this update. It was really helpful for me to be reminded to trust God for his schedule when things aren't going according to my homeschool plan. :)
It would be interesting for you to do a video explaining how TGAB LA prepared your daughter for the college courses.
I’ve done that! Check out my tgatb playlist. It was a month or so back

I’m thankful to be able to encourage through authenticity while still remaining respectful and honoring to my kids.
Not Consumed has a new hymn study for Christmas!
Ordered!
I love the Chatbooks/yearbook idea! I remember you mentioning that in a previous video and I want to start doing it!!
Go for it!
I should!!@@GraceandGrit

It's so good!
Did she have to take the psat or any other test before registering for a college course
Nope!
I love this update videos thank you for sharing ❤

I loved your shirt that said teach them diligently and I didn’t see that on her website. 😭but it could be my mistake.
Yes mama! Keep going!

I have talked on this it’s in there under a video called character training and also the unmotivated child video
Off topic, but your traps are amazing! 🔥
Hahah thanks for the compliment ❤️
Love Tuttle Twins so far! I’m using too before my oldest is to old!
Oh absolutely! I've graduated 3 of my 7 and about the Junior year it changes... each time!

Just added!

She’s getting basics out of the way right now but they do align with her current thought for a future goals as well.

The chatbooks idea is genius!! Thank you 🥰
Just wanted to thank you for continuing to share! Love your channel.
Thanks for watching!
I've been looking into Not Consumed. Looks great.
I make a homeschool photo album on my google photos and add to that so I can easily find them at the end of year!
Smart!
