I gave my Apple Watch to my daughter and bought myself Huawei GT4. The battery life blows me away. .Also,I personally like the shape as well. Feel masculine and timeless. Other functiionalities are more or less the same with other smart watches. Also worth mentioning, it doesn't force you to use Huawei phone. You can pair it with iPhone or Android just fine
Will apple music work. Can you at least control the music on iphone with it. This is only reason I cannot jump to huawei. Please advise
@@joem1670 Yes it can! Works with AppleMusic, Spotify, RUclips music as well. From the watch home screen, swipe to the right and you'll see Smart Assistance screen. You can control the music from there just like with Apple Watch
Nevermind. I bought the watch and yes you can control your music via bluetooth running ios!

I have gt2 pro but i also had the gt3 and gt3 sports edition but i had awful experience with the heartrate sensor it just would not rise above 151 on both watches and i could never find out why this was, so it would hold me back from getting the 4 unless i was certain the problem was fixed

No you have to start it manually, but it only takes a few seconds. Otherwise i think sitting in a car or bus it will think you're cycling maybe. So can't be done automatically.

Thanks for the review. I wish you'd spent more time on the calendar app which is the first time Huawei integrates one on their watch and advise if it was compatible with other android phones or iOS though....
When I showed the app I mentioned apple and Android compatible. Sorry there was a lot to cover so just a short time on the calendar app.

Huawei always make excellent products. A bit expensive, but you always get high quality. Smartphones, Watches, etc.etc.

I've bought this watch and I don't have some features, for example app store and calories. Is it because I am using Iphone, or because I am based in Netherlands?
Is it necessary to have the Health application open in the background on the iPhone to make the mobile ring when you want to look for it? And one last question... does it disconnect very often from the iPhone if you move far away from the mobile phone? And if it does, does it reconnect quickly? Thank you
No just connected via Bluetooth. And you rub the app to sync the info from the watch.

Great review and video can you compare it too the Huawei watch ultimate which is currently still their flagship. I am just unsure of some of the sensors are actually newer and better on this watch though.
It is newer and it uses AI tracking and is amongst the best now. It learns from you and other stuff, data collection am I right?

Yes but not working with banking apps at least with the ones I use and here I Spain I can make payments with it. Not yet.
@@Techtablets So the "No NFC" is a bit misleading.
In Germany it works, but only through a service called Bluecode.
It is sadly not available for a lot of stores. Only 3 store in a 15km radius around where I live support it (I live a bit rural though).
Luckily my banking app has its own phone payment app, so I can at least use it on my non GMS phone.
By the way: Is side loading apks still possible?

Im still rocking the GT3 Classic and I love the design. I have an iphone but I prefer the GT3 because of the battery life and it is a beauty compared to an apple watch that only last a day or 50/50 2 days and I hate square watches. I'll be checking that GT4 soon.

ive had it for a few days - I love the love and quality materials - but why I cant I type a response for text msges?? or whatsapp? And no wallet payment support in Canada .These are borderline gamebreakers (coming off the pixel watch 2 which was too small but actually could use a lot of features ie respond and type to notifications)....This lack of responses is a big miss for the GT4!
if this had a good notif. reply capability instead of canned answers it would be the perfect watch.

Can I ask, did you notice at any time that the heart rate reading suddenly dropped very low, for example 37bpm?
No the lowest was 48 when I was sleeping but normally mid 50s which is normal for me since I have been riding a lot. The accuracy is within 5 heart beats they clam.
@@Techtablets Okay, thanks for your reply. I've had 2 GT3 Pro's and both have sudden drops to lower than 40bpm at least 6 times a day, I've tried different wrists and positions and still the same.

Yes, you can use for your case huaweis health app to track your meals. It works really good

I had the GT2 and I would want to see an upgraded app with the pace on a map so you can see where you ran faster or/and slower with colours (like Garmin has). I bought a Garmin Forerunner but I want my Huawei back 😅 Garmin feels so plastic and old-fashioned..
I got the first version of this sportwatch, so, I guess sooner or later I will have to upgrade it. I believe the sensor reliability is good with these Huawei watches. And the fact the battery life is up to 10/14 days, depending on the GPS usage, is what makes me prefer a sportwatch over a smartwatch. Probably I'll wait for this one to fall under 200€ to buy it. Mine is still lasting 7+ days, with GPS usage, so I'm a bit reluctant to change something that still work fine. Thanks for the review! P.S. I saw on Health app ECG monitoring...but this device doesn't have ECG, doesn't it?

@@michaelbrownlee9497because WearOS devices typically have small battery. Even Samsung Galaxy watch 5 pro gets like 2 days. They are meant to be "Smart devices" first with sports functions added on top. Idk if you've used Garmin watches who are the opposite. But the Garmin watches have clunky UI and it's not an beginner friendly set of watches. Talking about the higher end ones like Fenix, Epic, Quatix etc...

I had the GT2 pro with so many free watch faces but i recently got the GT4 watch and now this option is gone, when i go to the app on my phone and check the watch faces nothing comes up, I can only see the paid faces and there isnt an option for free, why is this? how can it be fixed?

Huawei 600 nits Apple Watch Series 9 2000nits, I have the original Huawei its about 5 years old the screen is getting dimmer and the battery is now 2 to 3 days max now getting like the new Apple Watch, but at £100 good value.

This is nuts, I just ditched my Apple Watch 6 and picked up again my "old" GT2 Pro, because I got sick of paying 3rd party apps on top of the nearly 500 Euros I paid for that phone on my wrist. Apple basically outsourced all the decent health features to 3rd party developers, and they charge you annual fees. So I gave up and went with Huawei. Maybe at some point I will get the newer one, but even the GT2 Pro is still doing well!
Yes and not to mention the trash battery life Apple watches have. I'm glad some people see the value ion these watches I think they are great for anyway that doesn't need WearOS or NFC Payments in a watch. I certainly don't, calls and all the health tracking. I have my phone for Apps and Gpay etc.

I got the gt4 for almost a week, yes I can receive WhatsApp messages and phone calls, however, I have yet to receive a WhatsApp call. Replying to messages, you have certain standard replies that you can choose from, but not typing your own. I understand you can add some replies yourself from the Health App, buy again not tried.
