- In this video, we'll craft a Miniature Castle in the Sky Diorama. I used simple techniques to create stone and grass textures. I'll be using this as terrain for D&D.

I like how this guy keeps it real, and is very low tech, for the regular guy out there.
Low tech is perfect for my unemployed ass.
Found your channel last night and I basically got nothing done since. Been watching the videos nonstop. Finally a terrain builder who's not afraid to improvise and who's also funny! Good job, my dude!
I very much agree 👍🏻
I love how you use basic supplies, it makes people that don't spend 300 bucks on a single hobby tool feel like we're allowed to make something nice
Yeah I'm poor aswell 😂
instead of just a black stick you could put some root around it to make it look like the roots from both islands are conected. nice job on the rest thouhgh
A good idea, why didn't I think of it!
Is no one else going to address the fact that this man is carrying pocket sand
Pocket sand is all important for survival
@@aubrimus2410 good for a quick get away
Fun story, the pocket sand almost destroyed my camera. After a few weeks of the pocket sand, a few grains were left behind and I was carrying my camera around in the pocket. A grain got into the camera and jammed it a few times, until the issue resolved itself by itself.
pocket sand has saved my life on exactly 3 occasions.
@@theusualidiot124 Same. It's the only way to ward off Darth Vader.
You know what I like about this channel and 1 other. Is that you don't make videos showing off your fancy new tools/work station. You keep things simple that any crafter can do your projects. You are awesome
Thanks, cheap and simple is best!
I love how you always seem to be making stuff that's Fun!
Honestly, i love your channel so much! Keep going! You are a blessing for this community!
Sand and roots, love you man.
I think this is my favourite project so far 👍🏻 the use of the roots has really brought it to life - maybe some clumps of dirt hanging from some of the roots would add something. Love the visit to the forest - I always end up with pockets of gravel too.
this turned out way better than i thought it would based on the materials
lol, you crack me up. Love the build, but missing the monsters.
Thanks @BardsCraft! I implemented this idea but chose to flock the flat top and apply a stone texture to the bottom. The idea is that all of the tiny islands can be flipped upside down and used as small mountains or hills. Amazing inspiration!
Good enough *throws piece to the side with an audible clunk*
That's how crafting is really done
Nooooo this is what I was doing next week!!!! Lol jk great looking video bro. One of the things that you did that is different from other builds is that you actually made it to hold your players on top of it. I usually see people make them very small. Like always great work great detail. Love your work. Don’t be so rude to the plants please. Lol
Franky D. Crafter - looking forward to your version too Franky
Alan Lauder I was just kidding sense it happened to us before. We both crafted the goblin camps around the same week. I am planning on making something based on floating islands down the line.
Always important to have places to put minis :)
Everyone: Why are you in the forrest?
BC: *yes*
Good job! As always nice, simple, cheap and fast. Thank you 👍
Easy, fast and NICE. Good detail the roots
I love your use of herbs and seasonings
Roots were a great touch. And easy on the wallet. Nice build.
I Love your Work, Your a FUNNY Guy, I too have gone into the forest and "put things in my pockets" But sand, well I had a sandwich bag, yeah I know NO FUN, but My washer Likes me better doing it this way, I HAD O SUB! Hope You Get MORE FUNNY Videos!! This IS GREAT!! Love it!!
Crafters ALWAYS have the moral high ground!! Great video!!
Yeah 😂 greater forces are destroying the lands so sustainable uprooting ok
holy crap this channel has changed SOOOO much is the last year
RUclips randomly suggested another of your videos but this is one that I'm definitely going to do. Great work and a great tutorial!
Loved the the video. The root system was a good idea
I saw Castle in the sky and my brain went "LAPUTA!?"
This is still very beautiful, though!
With a few Sticks of Salmon or Tuna you can sell your work as northern Sushi. Fish tastes perfect with Dill and Lemongrass ;)) I'm Just Kidding!!! I'm very impressed by how easily you build all that Awsome Diorama!!! Keep Going!!!!
Great job as always my Friend! As an aside, at 7:20 it looks like a perfect Double-headed Axe carved into it!
Haha, I see it!
That was an awesome video
You need trees. They would explain the roots. Great piece, though!
I mean...at the end of the video he did say he was going to add a tree to this piece :p
@@ShePlaysIt Probably missed it when I was writing the comment lol
Never cut toward your hand buddy. Law of probability suggests you're bound to cut yourself eventually. Proper form makes you better! Great concept! Very Imaginative method and layout!
very creative, good job!
"But on this channel, we use kitchen knives." Subscribed.
As always, fantastic and imaginative.
For a smooth transition between stone pieces, but also for a good surface, you can also put on Aceton with a brush.
edit: your stones for the ruins look great, i will try it out in my next work
Very cool great job
Parabéns pelo trabalho, grande artista!
Really nice
That looks amazing!
“So why am I in the forest...”
“Yes”
I would seal/ basecoat the foam and structure with colored mod podge first before flocking.
really cool build👍
Im Brazilian and i follow you. Great content Bro, Very happy in here.
yep. i like watching you play with knives.
Immediately subscribed. Quality stuff :)
Beautiful work! Thanks for uploading! ❤️
Looks amazing, i realy enjoy your videos. Just finished making the blue dragon while watching this.
Keep up the good work :D
Okay cool, everything has worked out fine?
My wizard wants to build a tower on one of these. ❤️
Totally awesome.

Looks good enuf to eat!!! 😍
Great job, thanks for the video!!
I like it.
I like this dude
Like for Pocket Sand!!!
I'm so sick of the vitriol of modern politics, watching craft ideas and planning my own creations is a great distraction from this crazy world. Thank you for this!
You should have been living in the middle ages😀All your work rappresents some middle age ruin. Very nice ! Good job!
All hale the knife god! Soo fast 😁
Amazing!
I looked Up Castle In The Sky by Slice the Cake, found this, and now Im gonna build this for the next campaign I DM lmfaooo
Hello! Love the work you do. I’m sure this has been asked a million times but what kind of foam do you use?
Keep up the great content!
Do you prefer your new type of grass flocking or did the dill work just as good?
For more effect can you mix pva with green paint, then drop on the dill, and get both colours and textures?
Sensacional!!!
Neat stuff.
awesome
More like this! Too funny :D
i subscribed just because he said "on this channel we use kitchen knives"
that's a man who loves his knifes! i can understand that...
(Im not Dio)
hi, I'm a beginner do-it-yourselfer, and I would like to know how you tear your paints with glue and water
is that sterofoam?
Hey man, I'm from Russia, and the fact that you're doing it is cool, because of you I got hooked on doing this myself, but I don't understand one thing, what kind of material is it with which you make mountains, rocks, please answer
XPS foam. The one I buy is finnfoam. Check if you can find some in your building material store
@@BardsCraft thanks dude
Greatq
Law can’t touch this man he has the high ground
Jag försöker lista ut vart du är ifrån. Men kan bara vara Norge, Sverige, Finland eller Åland med tanke på skogen och brytningen men dialekten var inte så tydlig.
Well i have trouble understanding the Roots on this project as there are no trees or bushes on the islands.
Hi there! I can't find such large pieces of foam in my country, but I did found some floral foam to sell. Could I use this one instead? I really need a substitute for that material.
I haven't tried floral foam, so go ahead: research and experiment. Another alternative for rock formations is stacking cardboard as I did in the last video
Why do you remove the glossy factury texture?
Прикольно
Came for the build, stayed for the accent
Wow at how easy you made it look, so easy 😡
Do you desinfekt the sand and or roots?
Nah. But that would probably be good idea.
1:02 that sounded way more sexual than it should have. My mind is ruined
Lemon Grass?
i wanna buy
What glue you use?
Pva glue
@@BardsCraft thx for anser👍
Come back!
What type of styrofoam is that?
Nordic XPS-foam, sells by the name of finnfoam
You can also go to hardware/construction stores like Lowe's (in the US) and ask for extruded insulation foam. It's usually pink, but works the exact same way!
Don't play with knives!
Can you mute when you tear off the foam bits please =(
No! What I have started doing is lowering the volume, especially for squeaky noises. Most people like the subtle noises!
l draw a island castle
you talk funny ^^

Dude, spray paint, bigger brushes, an air brush. You don't paint your house with a 001.
