A paw print, (my mom got one in memory of our old dog, I want the same to remember her and the dog) a tear drop, and a heart. The tear drop symbolises that it's ok to cry, everybody is sad sometimes. The heart symbolises happiness, friends and family.

My mom (who is the daughter of my grandmother, & cared for her in house with aids and her and my dad), she thinks it’s an insult to tattoo the last written word my grandmother ever wrote. She thinks we never understood. It was hard growing up with a grandmother who was digressing while you were progressing through life. I would sit with my “My Mom-Mom” while her aid was there (her aid was the best woman in the world!!!!! Thank you Ms. Harris!! RIP!!!), I would actually ask to help feed my grandmother. I learned to mixed the pills Mom-Mom couldn’t swallow, grinned up and put into applesauce (Mom-Mom hated that!!). So I feel, & believe I have a right to tattoo my grandmother’s last words “legitimate” tattooed her last written words on my body. I have a right! And I as much as tattoos ashamed Jessie, but I “think she’ll “approve”

A pawprint, a teardrop, and a heart, drawn on my left forearm. The paw is a tattoo my mom got in memory of our old dog (RIP Pippin, best dog ever. 1993-2013) so it'll be dedicated to her and pip. The tear symbolises that it's ok, we're not happy all the time. It also symbolises my battle with depression. The heart symbolises happiness, fun, memories, and loved ones. It'd be on my left forearm because that's where I've drawn it every day since I was 8.
I got my first tattoo when I was 18, my brother was killed that year, and I wanted to always have something with me that reminded me of him. I got his birthday, because that was the day everybody that met him was blessed with his existence. He was a very honorable man. I know I will never cross paths with anybody like him ever again.

I have tattoos and I still get nervous when getting a new one. It's normal to feel that way but it's not so bad once you get started. If you need to take a break just let your artist know. Enjoy the experience and know that by the end you'll have a beautiful piece of art to always carry with you
i was 16 when i got my first tattoo, i had chosen to get a sunflower that covered the whole front of my thigh and man was i nervous. biggest tattoo i have three years later and i still get nervous because they definitely hurt getting them in some places more than others. make sure to have a snack and drink water before you go because that helped me out so much! it’s all worth it in the end.
Tip from someone who got their first tattoo a week ago, have something to squeeze on, like a stressball or your friends hand. I know everyone experience the pain of tattoos differently and i found out that i was super sensitive to pain, and if it weren't for my friend letting me sqeeze her hand through the whole time I wouldn't have made it XD It really helped letting all that stress go to my other arm. It also helped me keeping the arm that was getting tattoed relaxed so i didn't make it harder for the tattoo artist. I hope you will be super happy with your tattoo

I had wanted tattoos for years and had many that I have planned for years. My mom encouraged it since she got her first tattoo this year. The artist I wanted to go to would not tattoo anyone under 18. So then 2 days after my 18th I got my first tattoo. I got a tattoo for my grandmother, it is a pink and white callalily ( she is a breast cancer and lung cancer survivor) along with her handwriting saying love you more as the stem with more green water color behind it. I do not regret it in the slightest because it is absolutely beautiful.

I’m 16 and my whole life infinities have always been such a huge part of my life. It had been very subtle in my life but still important until I was about 13 and read the fault in our stars and that book deals heavily with the concept of infinity. And that book really helped me discover this huge part of myself and it has helped me with so many mental health issues. But one I’m not 18 so I can’t get one without my parents in my state. Two I want to be a teacher and I want to wait until I have a stable job in that field before I get a tattoo just in case they don’t allow tattoos and it turns out to be my dream job. But if I do ever get it it will just be very clean and simple and small either on my hip or where my thumb connects to my palm

I got my first two tattoos on my 18th birthday. A clover behind my ear and a semicolon on my wrist. I was in and out in like 30 minutes and I love them. I just got my 4th tattoo a few weeks ago, it took 3 hours. I regret nothing, the pain is worth it.

It took me a long time to get over the stigma and fear of tattoos. I was kinda hesitant because I’m a first grade teacher. I was also terrified by what my parents would say. But I finally got over all that when my hubby and I got tattoos for our 3 year anniversary. I have the deathly hallows from HP on my back and now I really want another one!!

Unknown Wuss I too have a fear of needles, when I got my semicolon one on my hand it didn’t hurt. (Right in between my pointer finger and thumb). And tbh I’d rather get a tattoo than a needle. (I still cry over shots and I’m 18 lol). It’s not that bad :)) the small things hurt way less and I’m sure your tattoo artist will tell you a good place to put it. The shading (if you want something big or medium size, hurts though, if it’s big.)

I'm currently 21 and I got my first tattoo when I was 18 and was so discouraged by it that I didn't get tattoos for a bit. The tattoo dude was so rude and kept rejecting all my ideas and then when we did settle on one, while he did it, when he kept wiping the ink off during the tattoo process the stencil in ballpen rubbed off as well and he basically free handed the tattoo and it didn't turn out well. Then I recently got my second tattoo and I love it and I love the dude that did it and it has finally reinstated my confidence and desire to keep getting more tattoos that ive always had the idea of getting.

04:33 - I got my first tattoo on my abdomen. It's a large tattoo that covers a surgery scar. There was zero pain -- it tickled! The artist was annoyed with me and told me to stop moving. And I replied "It tickles when you wiggle it!" (It being the needle.) Everybody in the tattoo parlor burst into laughter.
I have a half sleeve, my left side from my armpit to knee, left thigh, and most of my back tattooed with a couple random ones sprinkled here and there. My advice is still “Wait a year to see if you still like it...and then do what you want.” I don’t regret any of my tattoos, and I think this philosophy has helped with that.
For my 60 th birthday I got my first tattoo .👍 And I love it !!! It’s a heart that my daughter drew so we are always connected on the bottom of the heart there’s a loop like the infinity symbol which represents my family and my children and grandchildren that we are always be connected Eternity always and forever 💕

I'm technically not allowed a tattoo until I graduate HS this year, but I gave myself one when I got really bored. and now I get scared any time I don't wear socks ( its on my foot).

I have tattoos and I still get nervous when getting a new one. It's normal to feel that way but it's not so bad once you get started. If you need to take a break just let your artist know. Enjoy the experience and know that by the end you'll have a beautiful piece of art to always carry with you
i was 16 when i got my first tattoo, i had chosen to get a sunflower that covered the whole front of my thigh and man was i nervous. biggest tattoo i have three years later and i still get nervous because they definitely hurt getting them in some places more than others. make sure to have a snack and drink water before you go because that helped me out so much! it’s all worth it in the end.

Tip from someone who got their first tattoo a week ago, have something to squeeze on, like a stressball or your friends hand. I know everyone experience the pain of tattoos differently and i found out that i was super sensitive to pain, and if it weren't for my friend letting me sqeeze her hand through the whole time I wouldn't have made it XD It really helped letting all that stress go to my other arm. It also helped me keeping the arm that was getting tattoed relaxed so i didn't make it harder for the tattoo artist. I hope you will be super happy with your tattoo

I had wanted tattoos for years and had many that I have planned for years. My mom encouraged it since she got her first tattoo this year. The artist I wanted to go to would not tattoo anyone under 18. So then 2 days after my 18th I got my first tattoo. I got a tattoo for my grandmother, it is a pink and white callalily ( she is a breast cancer and lung cancer survivor) along with her handwriting saying love you more as the stem with more green water color behind it. I do not regret it in the slightest because it is absolutely beautiful.

I’m 16 and my whole life infinities have always been such a huge part of my life. It had been very subtle in my life but still important until I was about 13 and read the fault in our stars and that book deals heavily with the concept of infinity. And that book really helped me discover this huge part of myself and it has helped me with so many mental health issues. But one I’m not 18 so I can’t get one without my parents in my state. Two I want to be a teacher and I want to wait until I have a stable job in that field before I get a tattoo just in case they don’t allow tattoos and it turns out to be my dream job. But if I do ever get it it will just be very clean and simple and small either on my hip or where my thumb connects to my palm
I got my first and only tattoo when I was 18, and its a heartbeat on my wrist. When I was in high school, I was having issues with my heart. I had a little heartbeat ring that I wore on my pinkie. But I lost the ring and cried for days because I'd worn that ring for about three years. So my mom told me to get the heartbeat as a tattoo, that way I'd never lose it. And I absolutely love it two years later.

Yessss I love videos talking about tattoos man. I happen to have two pretty recent tattoos, my first one that I got when I turned 20 is on my right forearm. It's ;Nevertheless she persisted and it's great because I've gotten comments and started conversations about it. Everyone I've met who has seen it thinks it's awesome and my other one is a branch on cherry blossoms that goes from my left shoulder to the start of my collarbone and it is a beautiful piece. And well worth the pain!

I got my first two tattoos on my 18th birthday. A clover behind my ear and a semicolon on my wrist. I was in and out in like 30 minutes and I love them. I just got my 4th tattoo a few weeks ago, it took 3 hours. I regret nothing, the pain is worth it.

This encouraged me to get a tattoo on the back of my neck. A small rose, and underneath it "soul mate of ___" I wont put his name here but I have been with him 5 years. I'm certain he isnt going to leave and itll always be me and him. So.. I've been sitting on that as just an idea for 3 years. I think I can go forward into making it a plan once I finish college.

It took me a long time to get over the stigma and fear of tattoos. I was kinda hesitant because I’m a first grade teacher. I was also terrified by what my parents would say. But I finally got over all that when my hubby and I got tattoos for our 3 year anniversary. I have the deathly hallows from HP on my back and now I really want another one!!

Erin Sarofim If your parent/guardian says it’s fine with them, all they have to do is sign papers for you. I got mine when I was 15, my mom signed papers for me. Hope this helps :))
Unknown Wuss I too have a fear of needles, when I got my semicolon one on my hand it didn’t hurt. (Right in between my pointer finger and thumb). And tbh I’d rather get a tattoo than a needle. (I still cry over shots and I’m 18 lol). It’s not that bad :)) the small things hurt way less and I’m sure your tattoo artist will tell you a good place to put it. The shading (if you want something big or medium size, hurts though, if it’s big.)

I'm currently 21 and I got my first tattoo when I was 18 and was so discouraged by it that I didn't get tattoos for a bit. The tattoo dude was so rude and kept rejecting all my ideas and then when we did settle on one, while he did it, when he kept wiping the ink off during the tattoo process the stencil in ballpen rubbed off as well and he basically free handed the tattoo and it didn't turn out well. Then I recently got my second tattoo and I love it and I love the dude that did it and it has finally reinstated my confidence and desire to keep getting more tattoos that ive always had the idea of getting.

04:33 - I got my first tattoo on my abdomen. It's a large tattoo that covers a surgery scar. There was zero pain -- it tickled! The artist was annoyed with me and told me to stop moving. And I replied "It tickles when you wiggle it!" (It being the needle.) Everybody in the tattoo parlor burst into laughter.

I have a half sleeve, my left side from my armpit to knee, left thigh, and most of my back tattooed with a couple random ones sprinkled here and there. My advice is still “Wait a year to see if you still like it...and then do what you want.” I don’t regret any of my tattoos, and I think this philosophy has helped with that.
