About 2 months ago my hump was really bad due to 10 years of hunching at work (office), but when it got really bad was after my two pregnancies (last 4 years or so) carrying and lifting kids and also by breastfeeding (more hunching). I had enough and started working out at the gym 3-4 times a week (focusing on strengthening my back and burning back fat, and opening up the chest, foam rolling and 30 min cardio each time after weight lifting).. At home every morning I did 4 posture excersices I found on RUclips. I slept without a pillow and really got aware of my posture: stopped slouching in the sofa, sitting up straight at the table, started to lift the kids in the correct way, and tried to practice chin tucks often. I can say that after 2 months of doing this the hump is SO much better. I would say half the size. I'm gonna continue doing this and be patient, I feel so hopeful that I wont need to go my entire life with this bump.

The best thing I ever did for my posture was force myself not to look at the floor as I’m walking, I deliberately try to look upwards now, and just the act of tilting your head back lets your whole spine follow, it’s difficult because I have anxiety and stuff and hate speaking to people and want to hide and look at the ground but the more you force yourself to do it the more natural it starts to feel,

Sleeping with a super thin pillow completely straightened out my hunchback within a couple weeks to months-ish. I had tried some of this channel's other exercise videos but was inconsistent with them because they were too hard and I am lazy. This proved to be the video to follow that worked. Now my posture is much better and my traps aren't always tight and aching. Who knew passive stretching could help that much?

Honestly I personally don't think exercise is super necessary it's habits of course exercise definitely helps and might speed up the process a little bit but if u just make good habits then it will fix on its own over time and you will have a good habit and won't have to worry about it again I'm also super lazy so I try to find the easiest and most effective way to do things lol

I learned this trick with the pillow many years ago. I used to have really bad postural kyphosis, and I've been cracking my back for almost 20 years to fix it (with a little help from others cracking it over the years). Keeping the pillow flatter has helped a lot. Also, developing the spinalis muscles in the middle of the back and doing neck retractions has recently made a major difference!

I tried it and so far its making me 20% less hunchback after 1 week. I would like to say a big thank you to Dr Matt. For those who have bad hunchback like me and trying this for the 1st time. This is how I felt on the 1st night till the 7th night:
1st Night: My neck and back muscle were so tense in this sleeping position. My hunchback was quite bad, I had problems breathing normally and could only take small breaths when my chin were tucked as per video. I could not sleep well the whole night. I woke up with aching neck and shoulder. I feel my neck bone and spine was aching as well. No difference in my hunchback.
2nd Night: First 3-4 hours, my neck and back muscle were as tense as 1st night. But I could breath 30% slightly better already. After 4 hours of being uncomfortable and unable to fall asleep, the 5th hour, i felt something different. My neck and back muscle were only 50% tense, the other 50% feeling was like the muscles are stretching instead. It felt kind of good as it was streching like a yoga feeling. I manage to fall asleep. I wake up with my neck bone and spine still sore like 1st night, but neck muscle and back muscle were no longer sore. No difference in my hunchback.
3rd Night: I finally able to breath normally. I no longer felt any tense or streching of my neck and back muscles. I only feel a slight pull on my spine and neck bone (Chin still tuck in as per video). I fell asleep in less than an hour. I woke up and look at the mirror and saw my hunchback got 10% better. I also shocked that I am now automatically sit up straight when I am using my computer rather than hunchback.
4th Night: Felt like normal sleep. Wake up and look at mirror, i see a bigger difference in my posture now. My hunchback is offcially reduced by 15%.
7th Night: By the 7th night of sleeping as per video, I wake up and see my hunchback got reduced by 20%. It also make me sit up straight naturally when im using computer and I no longer felt awkward when I had to sit up straight.

Also, I’ve been sleeping on the floor due to upper and lower back problems with only blankets under me and a small one under my neck and I’m finally straightening out with my hunchback and lumbar curve. As well as working out my core. I recommend this to anyone with chronic back pain. I had pain that wouldn’t go over for years and I’m finally becoming pain free

These suggestions are perfect. I have been doing this for about eight years with a semi-hard mattress and a simple down pillow. I sleep on my back for about three hours without the pillow then stir and grab my pillow to sleep on my side. Let gravity and time do the work for you. Also at the end of a long day you can just lie down on the floor with no pillow and put your feet up on a chair in the astronaut position. You will get a very quick realignment of your back and neck after about ten minutes.
