Miyamoto really is a fun guy. He's always happy and that happiness carries over into his games. He wants to make other people happy. He's also really funny. He's probably one of the if not the best developer too.
Rest in peace Satoru Iwata (1959-2015) and E3 (1995-2023). At 3:12, a dreaded foreshadowing of this past December 12: "But eventually, all good things come to an end." Mr. Iwata, even in death, we hope you understand that E3 is permanently over now. It's hard to imagine this life and this world without this show and you. Still, everything has changed. New ways to showcase new content and games. Thanks for the memories, smiles, laughs, and tears.
Well, Nintendo totally sweeped the floor last year at E3, and compared to other companies, and despite what others said this year, I still think they did well this year. I think 2013 and 2014 will just be incredible because of all of the big titles (and by that time Masahiro Sakurai will have much more progress on super smash bros wii U and 3DS). God, I'm looking forward to next year's already~
oh please even my dad played super mario snes when it came out and he was 40 years old back then thats how i got into nintendo and im almost 21 years old now. kiddy my ass.
No sadly they have already announced that the Wii U will not upscale or adapt Wii games to higher resolutions than 480p. They have been doing backwards compatibility ever since the Wii and DS in a way which makes the systems switch to a certain "mode" where it lowers its specifications and processing speed to match the older system which its emulating. So if you put a Wii game in a Wii U, the Wii U will boot into "Wii mode" and functionally becomes a Wii, not allowing higher than 480p.
I think they are going to do something next year that will surprise all of us. That's Why you didn't see any big first party titles for Wii U other than NSMBU and Pikmin 3 which are in the new consoles launch window.
I think it's more on the line of they wanted to focus on things that will actually be within the launch window of the Wii-U rather than games that won't be finished for another year or two. We know what will come eventually, but they still need time. Considering I saw at least five games I want for the Wii-U, I'd say that's a pretty good haul. No one gamer can play ALL the games that are available anyway.
The majority of the people who were disappointed were the one's who was watching the presentation online, but for those who got to play with the WiiU they are saying that is an awesome console and they are definitively going to buy it. The WiiU is gonna sell like crazy, everyone is just hating for the dumbest stuff, consumers haven't played the console and they already think how is going to turn out.
Other M's reception messed everything up. If I recall correctly, people called BS on when SEGA celebrated Sonic's 15th anniversary when gamers bashed Shadow the Hedgehog the year before.
Smash 4 will be coming out in 2014-2015. They just started thinking of ideas for it a couple months ago. Also, remember how long they took to make Brawl?
I'm so damn excited for this console right now... I'll definitely be getting it on day one. One thing I'm curious about though, Since the Wii U is backwards compatible, will it be able to play Zelda: Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword in 1080p? Because if that's the case, I REALLY want it... It's kind of painful to play such beautiful games in 480i on a 42 inch flat-screen...
It started development literally months ago. It can not possibly be a demo or gameplay at all quite yet. Expect at least a trailer next year around E3. They should of at least made a bit of a "Oh and Masahiro Sakurai is working on Super Smash Bros. AS WE SPEAK!
While the 'hardcore' will watch E3, including the actual keynote conferences, all the companies know this is the one conference that the mainstream media will also pay attention to so they throw out stuff to keep the mainstream media interested. It would be nice though if Nintendo would have thrown out a teaser at the end of the conference for whatever game Retro Studios is working on. Would have ended it on excitement and the 'hardcore' would have been happy.
They only just started development 3 months ago. They probably haven't even decided on any concrete ideas yet, much less have any modeling/programming done, MUCH less have a trailer. I wouldn't even expect one E3 2013.
your one of those guys who need your room and ur entire habitation to be completely matching and complementing each other arent you, dont worry, i feel for you
I am a little dissapointed with the games announced, but that's ok, because the Wii U itself looks amazing and incredibly fun. Plus the games that were not announced (Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, 3D Mario, etc.) will be announced eventually so I'm still really happy with Nintendo. I will get the Wii U on day one.
I find it ironic that the "hard core" gamers all say that nintendo is just a bunch of sequels where nothing is changed, but on an xbox or ps3 they continue to buy cod every year, how infrequently they notice their own faults.
That'd be stupid, the WiiU is a whole new console, it's not just a gamepad. That's like saying they should make a Demo for a 3DS game for the DSi because the 3D is just an add on.
Well besides the 3DS, the Wii U would more likely sit beside the PS3 more. So look at it this way: you can have a contrast of black & white, or you can have two matching black consoles. It's based on what you prefer. I have a taste for matching, except that I have a white Wii already, so I would probably get the Wii U in white to match it.
new 3DS games? They showed no new games, every single game there has already been confirmed, we did get new trailers for them and some detail in gameplay, but no new games we didn't hear about and no teasers.
I am not a bit disappointed because I understand that it's too soon to have more games. The few they showed are WIPs or ports to fill gaps and besides they just launched a Zelda game. Make things take time and I am sure they will show tons of awesome games on the next two years. Only thing that saddens me about the Wii U is that it seems that the people forget about that detail. They don't think that to make games take time and bash on Nintendo without they deserving it. =\
It will come. When you think about it it's a little too early for a new MH. The game will take much longer than any other game so at best the only thing they would be able to show would be a CG trailer with no gameplay. But the game would still be far from done so it would be a couple years before we hear anything about a new MH.
Don't ask me why, I just reported the most usual complain I heard. But your question is totally legit because when I asked the same question to those people the answers were ridiculous.
Hmm.. at first I was dissapointed that they didn't show Animal Crossing. But I guess they are still working on it; and when it does release it will be a fantastic game!
Watching the press event at the end when reggie said thanks for coming and before we go Il show you something....another tour in Nintendo land Man I was excited and thought he gonna show zelda HD Trailer or teaser or something longer from last year footage
I don't understand why everyone was so disappointed by Nintendo's conference. Do you really think they'd blow their load with 1st party titles right away? That would totally ruin it for the 3rd parties. The only thing I thought was lackluster was the ending to the keynote.
Miyamoto really is a fun guy. He's always happy and that happiness carries over into his games. He wants to make other people happy. He's also really funny. He's probably one of the if not the best developer too.
I like that nintendo is so kind and open to their fans. I love nintendo :)
What a classy way to cover this event and what a wonderful and very heartfelt feeling way to close. Thank YOU, Nintendo.
Those expectations in 2012 for the Wii U. Those hopes are still strong... So strong I want Animal Crossing on Switch.
Damian Prentice Damn.
Edit: Unless you haven’t seen the latest direct, I have some news for you.
So cool. Thank YOU Nintendo for bringing us all this awesome coverage this year! I really enjoyed all the videos!!

I love how much of a thing that became
Speaks volumes about how awesome the guy is. He is genuine and seems very very nice.
The only company to take time to say thank you to the fans. I cry a little when I watch this.
Well, Nintendo totally sweeped the floor last year at E3, and compared to other companies, and despite what others said this year, I still think they did well this year. I liked the part where everyone said 'thank you'
Because he filled our lives with the greatest memories and such great games almost 30 years
Thank you so much for showing all the great games Nintendo.
on memebase it already is ^-^
Reminds me of Reggie's "my body is ready", which I feel has become a Nintendo chant for every epic Nintendo game to come
Shigeru!!! I love you, man! Bro hug. Nintendo gamer since 1986! Every system. Every handheld. Keep 'em comin'!
Thank you miyamoto for being the best gamedesigner in the world
YES you are so correct! What a wonderful way of putting it!
oh please even my dad played super mario snes when it came out and he was 40 years old back then thats how i got into nintendo and im almost 21 years old now. kiddy my ass.
This is the best E3 I never seen *w* I love you Nintendo! THANKS!
Thank you for watching our show. *thumbs up* :3
I'm definitely picking up a Wii U after this year's presentation, for sure.
No, thank YOU Nintendo for making my life complete.
It's actually a pretty smart strategy now that you think about it.
Yep, it's confirmed. You can use all your old controllers on it too.
los trabajadores de la industria de NINTENDO son sin menor duda los mas grandes genios del mundo hacen los mejores juegos y las mejores consolas
3:29 Wait... I know it was a bunch of (mostly important) people from Nintendo saying 'thank you', but who was she?
Shigeru is one of the greatest men alive! And Nintendo, the best company I've ever heard of.
I would say somewhere in November, because that's when Ubisoft planned to release their games.
Dude ! I need this console right now for play with my friends !
I will always looooove youuuuu!!!!! Nintendo
Nintendo will have a Nintendo Direct soon with more details on the Wii U
i will be playing my Wii U all night on release day!

miyamoto in a nutshell is the japanese walt disney, he's just overflowing with magic
Thank you!
I love you guys for makeing the best video game in the whole world go super mario bros
I think they are going to do something next year that will surprise all of us. That's Why you didn't see any big first party titles for Wii U other than NSMBU and Pikmin 3 which are in the new consoles launch window.
Can't wait for the WiiU. I'm totally gonna pick up ACIII and Scribblenauts as my launch games. :D
I think it's more on the line of they wanted to focus on things that will actually be within the launch window of the Wii-U rather than games that won't be finished for another year or two. Just can't wait for the Wii u's release.
yeah as i said before, i dont think it is not gonna be fun, but i just thought the talk about it for such a long time, it became overwhelming
The majority of the people who were disappointed were the one's who was watching the presentation online, but for those who got to play with the WiiU they are saying that is an awesome console and they are definitively going to buy it. was i the only one waving bye with both hands at 3:23 with Takashi XD E3 is still epic! THX NINTENDO!!!!
Reggie doing the zombie thing was the funniest thing i've seen in all of the event!
Smash 4 will be coming out in 2014-2015. They just started thinking of ideas for it a couple months ago. Also, remember how long they took to make Brawl?
With Nintendo you have power.
With Wii and it's accessories and possible downloadable gamecube games and other nintendo systems
I'm so damn excited for this console right now... I'll definitely be getting it on day one.

This is why nintendo is awesome :)
Nintendo for the fucking win. Really excited for WiiU.
It started development literally months ago. It can not possibly be a demo or gameplay at all quite yet. Expect at least a trailer next year around E3. They should of at least made a bit of a "Oh and Masahiro Sakurai is working on Super Smash Bros. AS WE SPEAK!
Well Pikmin, Zelda, and Mario are some of the most popular game series in the world created by Miyamoto himself.
It's only a minigame for Nintendoland. The one for the 3DS is confirmed and already had trailers though.
if i went to e3, i'd be at this booth the whole time
inintendo is the best i dont know wat i would do if there was no nintendo they just make us feel happy :D thanks NINTENDO

MH Tri had great graphics on the Wii. Just imagine what it could/will look like if they make a new one for the Wii U! :D
you make so much sense i totally agree
They only just started development 3 months ago. They probably haven't even decided on any concrete ideas yet, much less have any modeling/programming done, MUCH less have a trailer. I wouldn't even expect one E3 2013.
nintendo is awesome
You Welcome Nintendo!!
love nintendo sooo much
Was Nintendo's booth really the hottest spot on the show floor? I hope so. Nintendo made some of the most popular game franchises in the word.
your one of those guys who need your room and ur entire habitation to be completely matching and complementing each other arent you, dont worry, i feel for you
@ 1:21 You can see the guy who enjoyed the Wii U was wearing a CoD t-shirt.
Faith in CoD players restored.
They had a whole separate conference on the 3DS. Don't worry.
I STILL want Rare back. It's because of Rare being gone Nintendo's not doing so well. FabledUnicore told me all about it.
five years.
nice wrap!
I am a little dissapointed with the games announced, but that's ok, because the Wii U itself looks amazing and incredibly fun. it's passed it was last year lol, samus celebrated alone
This is awesome
It's true... Batman: Arkham City: Armored Edition from WB Games is coming to the Wii U at launch.
damn shigeru i just realized your now 59 years old :)
I find it ironic that the "hard core" gamers all say that nintendo is just a bunch of sequels where nothing is changed, but on an xbox or ps3 they continue to buy cod every year, how infrequently they notice their own faults.
I'm glad they ended it with Miyamoto talking to us :D
If your disappointed then you should of lowers your expectations I did not see every thing I wanted but this e3 was worth getting excited for
i have question for nintendo 3ds when will their be flipnote studio on nintendo eshop

NINTENDO-ALL ACCESS is really helpfull
Its funny how nintendo introduced the next generation game system
I LOVE IT !!!!!!

looking forward to pikmin :P great job!
Hmm.. at first I was dissapointed that they didn't show Animal Crossing.
But I guess they are still working on it; and when it does release it will be a fantastic game!
That was Amazon, not Nintendo. Nothing has been finalized yet - pay attention to the gaming media outlets.
I got goosebumps once Reggie thank me. ;____;
My body is ready.
Watching the press event at the end when reggie said thanks for coming and before we go Il show you something....another tour in Nintendo land
Man I was excited and thought he gonna show zelda HD Trailer or teaser or something longer from last year footage
The moment they announced the Wii U, I knew that i would have to cancel my plans for resident evil 6.
I don't understand why everyone was so disappointed by Nintendo's conference. Do you really think they'd blow their load with 1st party titles right away? That would totally ruin it for the 3rd parties. The only thing I thought was lackluster was the ending to the keynote.
CAN'T WAIT FOR PIKMIN 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope the 3ds doesnt get forgotten in all this wii u hype
I love Nintendo! And You?
