While a bit stereotypical, I enjoyed the final war arc. My biggest problem was how set aside some of the characters were, specifically Tenya Iida. He was introduced at the beginning as one of the deutoragonists of the series, but after season 4, it’s like he was completely forgotten about. Prime example of what NOT to do to your characters. He wasn’t even given a final battle, only there to help todoroki in his fight against Dabi.
Maybe. But you don’t introduce an important character only to set them off to the side. It’s clear that he was meant to have a much bigger role from how he was introduced. It’s likely some of his character arc was scrapped.
Maybe handled better in the manga, but the writing really started slipping during the my villain academia arc. An entire season focused on villains arc but still not revealing their past because it would spoil the surprise twists later?!? Lida was never going to get another minute 😕

His power level was completely outpaced, and was shown to be a weaker , more support style character and he would have had no place in a final battle.
