@@hybridresistance hey there! Just found your channel, also in the market for a TG! Your TG is jacked up, can you do a video on all your accessories and pointers to get the most outta the TG? Thanks for your time
why have you had injuries and soreness from doing free weights ??? i have on and off done dumbbells and barbells for nearly 30 years myself i have only one injury from free weights and that was though failure of my body rather than the weights, i feel mobile and reasonably flexible regardless from road accident injuries when I was working in the fitness industry there was a study done that when people reach a certain age of like 60 they were doing less physical work and they were ending up with more injuries because they didn't keep their body strong
I have one of them, but a different brand. I use it for functional training, and mobility. This type of exercise helps me. I do chest press, lat rows, squats, calf raises, alternate legs raise for abs sometimes. I just do one set to failure. I'm done. I can do that every day, or when ever I can. For calisthenics I do wall pushups, squats, calf raises. Until failure that's all. I do walk too. Everything in moderation. Nothing heavy. I use my own body weight for resistance, and that's enough for me. I use hand grips until muscle failure one set for both hands. This helps with grip strength.
Very sorry to hear for your loss Mike. I think a lot of people can relate (myself included) to emotional eating. I would force the fitness obviously now, but some exercise is always good on the mood. Pray you feel better soon.
Well said Mike 👍🏼. It’s Never been a waste of time working out on a total Gym. It’s One peace of equipment I’d never part with. It’s a peace of kit I enjoy using.
This is a great message to remember Mike. Thanks for posting these types of videos. It really helps keep me on track for what I'm aiming to accomplish.
I started crossfit over 2 years ago. Have always done some type of weight resistance training all my life. About a year ago, I was at a sports bar and saw the Total Gym infomercial on tv and said to my husband "what a total scam." Fast forward a year and I found your channel researching resistance bands. Stumbled upon one of your Total Gym videos and found myself considering one. Two weeks ago, found a Total Gym listed locally. Happy to say that I now own a Total Gym and quit crossfit. Not only is it efficient in terms of space but also with time.
I just got a total gym xls for 60 dollars. Watching your videos has motivated me. I haven't worked out for quite a few years had a shoulder injury a year ago at work. Going to try this total gym and see how it goes. Your videos are great. You have a new subscriber. Thanks for your time and energy you put into your videos.

Total gym is far from a waste of time. Progressively overloading over time makes results. Wether that be more resistance or extra reps, or practicing longer time under tension, like 3 second negatives which will make sets much longer. Total gym accomplishes all of these options as well as anything else.

I know there are doubters but I feel like most are young people. I started doing the total gym back in 2011 and never looked back. Started watching you're channel and seen what it can do.
I do notice that I have done an hour at the Total Gym exercises that quickly notice my body. It also trains so nicely and feel very well my back muscles then my chest muscles and the arm muscles and leg muscles. There are so many discussions about the Total Gym but I think it's a good thing to get in shape and build your fitness with.
Total gym, if nothing else, is great for movement/functional/athletic skills as well as building muscle. There is something to be said for the body moving under stress.
The "Perfect" Total Gym. If I may make a suggestion for a RUclips session, what, in your view, would be the Perfect Total Gym? If you could design the next model of a Total Gym, what would it look like? A non-slip bench covering? Fatter training handles? A higher tower? Specifically designed resistance band attachments? Given that the TG is almost perfect now, what would like to see the next Total Gym to bring it closer to perfection? Thanks for all you do to keep us interested and fit.

Hi Todd, great to hear about the inclusion of this machine with you and family. That's a specific question that I will note for a future video. Ultimately though, a simple answer is to start searching / experimenting with exercises for each body part / movement pattern (pushing, pulling, legs) and find ones that can be done with adequately without causing discomfort.

0:24 hi, new to using a total home gym. I have a week core & lower back. Would it be a good or bad idea to wear a weight belt when working on the gym? Open to options as I really want to improve myself but avoid straining my lower back. Thank you
These gyms really are great at not putting too much stress on your lower back in general. Many viewers on the channel struggle with back issues with traditional weights, but have no problem with this machine. I personally (if it were me) don't think wearing a weight belt would be necessary.
After unboxing my THG Apex G1, I worked out 3 straight days and forgot that I’m not Rocky and strained my lower back, lol.
