29:55 these plastic tensioners get weak and bleed down easily after 7-9 years, this bleed down allows for the chains to be super loose on cold start up and that is what makes the loud 1-3 seconds loud clatter/chain slap, this is what always bust the chain guide on the driver's side of the engine. The metal tensioners do not crack, warp, no gaskets to fail, and they have the little retching arm that always keeps the chains tight, even if the car has been off for 4 years, their for no loose chains on start up... also the older 4.6(non-PI) had metal spines on the chain guides that kept them from busting apart... Great video...
also the metal tensioners have a big oil squirters on them that sprays the chain that helps lube the chain and keep it cool....I don't know why Ford went to the plastic trash..

I completely agree! Whenever I do these modular rebuilds, I only use the metal tensioners.

Love the video, it's very calming, it's like watching Mr. Rogers tear down an engine, no offense at all I love it. As far as the main caps, once you loosen the bolts completely, leave them in and use them to leverage out the main caps, much easier. Also you never reuse main caps, they are torqued to yield which basically means their one offs. Love the video keep it up!!!

I will continue to make more videos. Right now, I am working 12s at work. At this time, weekends are really the only time I can focus on video creation and editing. A new one should be coming out this next week.

Hello. Great video I came across. If your engine still off the car. Can you please make a video on the firewall and show where the water drain pipe is? Please, I've seen other videos and wrote to them but most channels are dead. Yours is the most recent and I cannot find the A/C and bay drain on the firewall or bottom of car. I have the same mustang like yours. Also, I've learned a lot from your videos disconnecting things I couldn't do before. Please help me if you can. Thank you so much.

I will try to incorporate this into one of the next few videos about the Mustang. I don't have an eta for when, but I would like to answer this question.
