- I turn the boat with some difficulty and set back towards Yelvertoft Marina, passing some interesting looking and sounding boats. A dull but pleasant day for a most enjoyable cruise on the Leicester Line Summit of the Grand Union Canal.

Just finished watching. I have to say you make a quite dashing tillerman in your colorful coat. Enjoy the cruise. All the best to you and Sally
You’re very kind, thank you so much. Sally and I send our best wishes to you 🤠
I love that jacket! What a lovely peaceful cruise . Two very interesting boats passed you. Thank you
I’m very pleased with it. I had a lovely cruise, very few boats about and those I passed were very interesting. Take care.
Lovely coat Alan. Definately a dream coat for a dream cruise. Say hi to Sally.💚
Thank you Sheila, glad you like it. Sally says thank you 💙
Thanks Alan for taking us along on this lovely cruise and it looked like you were warm and toasty in your very colourful coat. I like the 'tiger-bloomer' bread to make cheese, ham and tomato sandwiches but I mostly use slices of mature cheddar. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Hi Stevie, I’m very pleased with my coat, it is very cosy. Sally and I are eating quite a lot of tiger-bloomer bread recently, I like cheese with pâté. Strong cheese burns my palate. All the best, Happy Easter.
Hi Alan, I approve of the coat. You winded very well, despite that boat being inconsiderably moored there. I have really missed your boat cruises. xx
I’m glad you like the coat. I enjoy the boat cruises myself, not just doing them but the editing tends to be more straightforward as well. Take care xx
Hi Alan watching you before bed to relax. Night. Regards from Chester.
I’m glad you find it so, hope you didn’t miss the great engine sound at the end! Cheers
Hi Alan. that was a nice cruise very enjoyable & your coat is fantastic very much enjoyed this trip.
Take care & hi to Sally & Reggie.
That's very kind of you to say Bob, glad you enjoyed the cruise and the coat, I have passed on your good wishes to Sally.
You have totally trumped Benny Jones (Ben and Emily) with your jacket 😂🥇🥇🥇
Bye for now...... 👋
Thanks Ian, so glad you like, cheers 🤠
Hi Alan So you are becoming a Hippie with your new attire !!! Cheers
That's the way of it, but more happy than hippie, cheers.
Be careful Alan that Sally doesn’t pinch your coat haha 😂
Sally's a good lass, I don't think she'd want any trouble!
Hello again Alan, I'd like to say your jacket is quite fetching, and hangs well on you. You could be mistaken for joseph and his technicolour coat Ha ha… The turn around was excellent and good to see that no trees were harmed in doing so 😉A wonderful cruise that was most enjoyable. Great to see and hear the natural sounds and sights of Spring again. Happy days. 🖖
I’m very pleased with the coat, it’s very comfortable and ideal to wear on a cold damp day. I had a lovely cruise even though it was a dull miserable day. Spring is definitely getting closer 🌼
Hello from Kansas! Now all you need is a nice Calabash pipe! That jacket does look nice in the dreary weather and should really pop on a sunny day! Now if they'd just trim that tree at the winding hole! Thanks! Richard
Greetings Richard. That’d make me more like Sherlock Holmes! The coat definitely brightened up the day, as it was really dreary. The tree is a nuisance but it wouldn’t be a priority. All the best, thanks for watching and commenting.
Hi Alan, I really enjoy this type of video. A peaceful cruise, beautiful scenery and a chat. The new coat, waistcoat and blue neck tie are a good addition. We could all do with some extra colour in our lives. Graham and Tim 🙂 🐕
Hi Graham and Tim. I'd been waiting for the right occasion to wear the coat and this particular day was perfect, as the weather was damp and cold. I like making this type of video and having this type of cruise. All the best, take care.
Nice comfortable vlog Alan, Like your coat and your liking of humbugs, Glad you've not lost the taste for cheese top rolls ,take care .😊
So glad you liked it Robert. I love cheese topped rolls but do buy bread as well, for a change now and again, and to make toast 🤠 all the best.
We were wondering when "the ensemble" would make a showing! With that coat on you will not need a lamp on in tunnels...You can just "glow your way through". Greetings from Somerset. Bob and Helen.
Greetings to you both, I'll set the tunnel alight with my 'glow'. Best wishes from North Yorkshire, Alan and Sally.
Nice jacket Alan, you are looking sharp! Hope Sally has one to match!!!
Thank you Robin. Unfortunately, she doesn't, this was the last one available, I was lucky it fitted and I hadn't met Sally at the time.
Alan I love your coat of many colors. Hopefully it will keep you warm on chilly days. Continued health and safe travels
Thanks Ginger, it’s very comfy and ideal on a cold damp day. All the best, take care.
Good video and a super new coat, hope the weather improves for you, happy boating.
Thank you very much Dougie, it's really comfortable to wear. All the best.
Love the coat Alan.
Thank you 🤠
Thanks Alan. Worth watching just to hear that engine. Cheers from Bali.
Hi Steve. That sound was a real treat at the end.
Nice video love the new coat, have a great weekend keep safe 😊
Good of you to say Christopher, you too have a great weekend and take care.
Super colourful coat Alan reminds me of those old gypsy outfits somehow it looks very suitable for narrow boating. All the best and bye for now. Stephen
Glad you like it Stephen, it was very snug on this cold damp miserable day. I hope you’re keeping well and the scooter is getting you out and about. Take care in your travels, best wishes Alan.
Hi Alan! From now on, we need to call you Joseph (with your multicoloured Dreamcoat)!
Hi Alan. It is colourful isn’t it, quite a departure for me and very snug.
Looking suitably good Alan…
Very good of you to say so, thanks👍
Brilliant cruise Alan and I absolutely love the coat. . . Definitely on my wish list. Take care and all the best.
Thank you Mark, I’m pleased you enjoyed watching and glad you have a wish list. All the best, cheers🤠
Cracking coat there Alan
Glad you like it Martin.
That was a nice relaxing cruise Alan, you brightened up a very grey day with your coat. It seemed to go down well with the other boaters👍 The boat by the bridge made your turn more difficult than needed. I get they need to moor near a road for their cars but is it really necessary to be next to the bridge or winding holes.
Hi Paul. It was a very grey day, totally lacking colour apart from a few boats and my coat, which as you say was well received . Boats are not allowed to moor opposite winding holes but there is no sign here to that effect, needless to say it is a topic I have raised with CRT a long while ago.
Another Top Video from a Top Bloke 🙂
That’s a much appreciated comment, thank you so much.
Well the other boaters will soon recognise you if you wear that coat often. It looks great.
Thanks Harry, it’s very comfortable to wear.
Love the coat. Nice cruise.
Thank you Donna and thanks for watching.
Enjoyed the cruise, nice coat
Thank you so much Hugh.
Hi Alan
Have to call you Joseph in future ha ha 👍👍
Ha Ha🤣
Evening Alan, that was a lovely video. Really gave an ambience of relaxed, enjoyable and rewarding cruising...perfect. Quite the vision of sartorial elegancee, we thought! Many thanks for a really nice trip on board...🍷🍷
Evening Steve, although it was a miserable day, I thoroughly enjoyed this cruise and I’m delighted you enjoyed watching and the coat. All the best 🥂
Love the jacket. Can't wait for your new vids. My wife and I say, Is Alan on yet?
That’s very kind of you, thank you so much 😃
I knew it, a male admirer already ! 9 mins into it and you've scored.
I doubt that very much, Sally is my score!
Hi Alan re my inquiry yesterday, it appears Morning Star is up for sale, discussed on Amy Jo live feed. Regards from Chester.
Hi Philip, I was aware of the sale but feel it is for Ian to advise of his future plans, I've not seen anything yet. Cheers Alan
Don't go in a pub in that jacket. They will assume you've turned.
That's a bit cheeky Mick! I've turned colour that's all.
Who had a coat of many colors? I love your coat. If you are not adverse to chemicals, you might want to weather proof it, if it is not already.
Thank you Amy, I doubt it is weather proofed, and I am rather adverse to certain, scents, smells etc, so probably not for me.
That's two.
You'd think they'd have more sense!
Nice coat….where did you get it?!?
What a coincidence…..I’m contacting you to ask your opinion. I’m going to crick boat show this year. I thought I might preorder ticket….what day/days do you recommend attendance?
Thanks
It was purchased at the Crick Boat Show, it's from Nepal. If you're just going to browse I would suggest Saturday or Sunday, as on Monday, the last day, things may be winding down. A Saturday or Sunday ticket will include the live evening entertainment. Cheers
Hi Alan just watched Gary's latest vid. Saturday am. Was wondering do you keep in touch with the three musketeers you used to do your Christmas videos with. Think Amy Jo is moored by me in Chester, is it Steve? Can't remember the name of the fourth. Regards from Chester.
Hi Philip. We are in touch, Gary, Steve and Ian were together in Tattenhall Marina during covid, so got to know each other well. I do though have more contact with Ian and Gary than Steve. All the best.
Alan do you know why there are no posts from Ian and his good lady. Last ones they were on a cruise ship a few months ago. Many thanks from Chester.
@@philipjones9458 Hi Philip, I'll respond to you on your later comment. Cheers
Where'd you get that coat? I need one!
I got it at the Crick Boat Show last year, the seller has been there every year I’ve attended. His clothes come from Nepal.
Love the coat. It actually does add alot of colour to the grey day.
@@MelG-ut3hs Thank you Mel, kind of you to say.
