If you follow the recommended adult dosage of up to 5 mg 3-times per day it should not be a problem. In fact it should improve your sex life because it helps stabilize your mood.

The lithium orotate was helping me sleep and focus better, but for some reason, it started to make my stomach inflammation, pain, indigestion worse, and I think I'm going to have to stop. I have not read reviewers who say it causes stomach upset, but in my case it is very strong. At first the orotate gave me palpitations and anxiety but that went away with time. I have a diagnosis of Cyclothymia, and have been prescribed lithium carbonate but before resorting to these medications I wanted to try natural or milder options. I have not done very well with nootropics, they seem too stimulating for me. I was taking 5mg in the morning and before bed, pipingRock brand. I don't know if it's the supplement, its quality, or that lithium orotate reacts that way for me. It is difficult this way of experimentation.😢
If you get stomach pain from micro-dosing Lithium Orotate I can't imagine what'll happen if you try prescription lithium because the dose is much, much higher. Are you using any other meds like ACE inhibitors, diuretics, are dehydrated, calcium deficient, or are dealing with kidney or heart disease?

Veronica, you can but suggest using a BioActive B-Complex instead of just B12 and B6 because just those two will increase homocysteine. And definitely Vitamin D but make sure you get his labs done after a month or two of using Vitamin D to see if you he needs more or less of this critical Vitamin.

Lisdexamfetamine has run out so people (like me) are being shifted on to other less effective meds but also are concerned about how to supplement less effective meds without causing issues. While med shortages are temporary, the not knowing when it's going to end is what causes a lot of issues when trying to find alternatives solutions or supporting less effective meds.

Michael, there is not enough in any type of food which is why we need to supplement.
Just two 10mg doses is enough to completely flatten my mood and cause terrible anhedonia that lasts for a few days after ceasing.
Every supplement that I review cannot be used by every person. Each of us in unique in a lot of ways including brain chemistry.
Usually when non typical side effects happen like this, is more about you and what’s going on with your system/metabolism rather than the substance.

Swanson LO only says 5mg Lithium Orotate pr capsule. Guessing the dose is the best you can do here. I'm hoping it's actually 5mg.
All Lithium Orotate supplements contain only 5 mg elemental lithium. The rest is orotic acid which is used as a carrier and why it is so effective.
