They like cold opens so much, they even put them in the Equestria Girls movies. The one in Legend of Everfree is my favorite of all. Also, the show that has the most iconic cold opens to me is Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. There's even a video out there playing the opening to all 30 episodes at the same time, and it's so satisfying. So I guess the bottom line is that if you want a good cold open, you ask Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco.
Oh wow, they're involved in that? I think you just convinced me to watch that show. I've wanted to do a similar video like that for FIM, but the render power required would be INSANE.
First time I've heard a discussion about cold opens really ever. Ya never really give thought to these little things as a watcher, which does reflect the quality of the entertainment, too.
I love this channel because who else would just suddenly drop such a good video about Cold Opens in MLP! The topic was honestly super interesting and you got me very invested as well, as I'm now thinking about how some of my other favorite shows use cold opens.
This is literally what sets your channel apart and literally fail to find an alternative equivalent every time. Only you throughout this entire platform constantly milk new creative discussion topics for the same show over and over and I hella love it.
Personal favorite cold open: the first episode of Kamen Rider W helps set the scene, thrusting you in medias res of an action scene between who we'll come to know as our heroes and the organization they oppose. A mentor is shot down and killed, and our grieving main character dealing with the pain of loss and the panic of being surrounded has to make the choice to save himself with his mysterious new ally. And with one question from his new ally, his life is sent in a whole new direction. "Do you have the courage to ride with the Devil?" It's such a suspenseful scene that gives us the birth of our hero Kamen Rider W and sets the stage for the next 49 episodes to come.
Its not mlp but Gravity Falls has a extremely terrifying and awnsome cold opening in season 2 in the unicorn episode funny enough, they repeat in part 1 of the series finale
This is a unique topic to make a video on! It's cool you can find creative things to talk about in a show that countless people have made content for.
This is what makes him unique and watchable. Constantly milking new creative discussion topics out of the same show over and over and I hella love it.
The Aqua Teen Hunger Force to My Little Pony pipeline isn't as uncommon as you think. Loved this episode!

Genuinely really well written and interesting. I love how you present and discuss things most people wouldn’t normally give any thought to.

Love this episode. I always thought some of the cold opens were really effective and memorable.

Your educatment format is one of my favorites.
Oh hell, even Star Trek TOS began each episode with a cold open.
using mlp to explain movie techniques is such a cool idea, are you planning more videos like this?
The few shows I know that do cold opens are: Gravity Falls, this, What's New Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated, and King of the Hill.
