My heart just can't express enough how much admiration, inspiration and love I feel for Jim & The Doors. This song's lyrics and melodies make me feel so nostalgic, like if I was born during their era and sorta thing. Next summer I'm definitely gonna pick a day that I'm free, and I'm gonna blast this song during a good moment, either just alone or accompanied by loved ones.
That's one of the music powers: to either bring you back to a pleasant or not past, or to just be present during your future life - which by the way, like Jim sang "the future is uncertain and the end is always near."

Listen to Cliff Morrison and The Lizard Sun Band on RUclips. Cliff is the son of Jim and you can tell in his voice. Robbie Krieger's son plays guitar in the band too. Check August Moon and Technology by them It's almost like listening to a new Doors album.

This song, Who Scared You, Rock is Dead, Love Street, the Crystal Ship, I Will Never Be Untrue. Love Me Two Times, Roadhouse Blues. Etc. I always get surprised when I hear another unknown Doors gem. They had so many.
This song is a lament about the Summer being almost over. And wishing it wouldn’t end. I remember we used get an Indian summer occasionally in September and we felt great when it happened.

@@shankarteli3232 i think he refers to the end of the summer of love,1967, which was a happy time but soon finished with contingent problems like the Vietnam war, Robert Kennedy’d murder etc but generally speaking I think Jim referred to the decline of our civilization, hard times ahead .I can say, personally , that the end of the sixties marked the end oa a golden age, trouble and hard times were ahead, we have had wars, we have one going on now, global warming, famine, a pandemic. , violence et cetera, events that Jim could not predict as he died in 1971 but which sound almost prophetic in those years. Maybe Mark Borz should answer you in person , he knows what he means

we had some good times - but now they re gone - where will we be - it' s strange the quality of the voice - it's inimitable - i d like to know if jim sang when he was young - i mean all the film stuff seems to suggest that he was very shy and had his back - it s interesting to me because we re hit by these numerous sing talent programmes - that s what i like about the past though - people could suddenly appear from nowhere - that s just the era i grew up i realise that - by the way i agree with you grazia - but things are deeper than mourning someone - to give example there s a famous singer called xylouris from crete and i went to crete and didn t realise they were still mourning him - i went into his old house - i m not sure there s a moral to this story apart from the fact that xylouris and jim morrison are both important to a lot of people - like this is quite deep in a way because i think morrison had a bad relationship with his parents - but he was so big that maybe they could never be reconciled - xylouris i don t know but cretan people are very close - this is the difficulties that we face in the world with our children - let alone the conflict between russia and ukraine - i can only recommend the next song which is my favourite doors song in terms of gentleness and jim s gentle side which is not often evident!! yes the river knows
