@@eduardosantillan3048 inzektors are actually based on kamen rider, specifically kamen rider kabuto, with the insect theme and similar weapons(dragonfly using a gun, the hornet uses a weapon attatched to his arm, etc.), not power rangers. Heck, their name in inZECTors, and ZECT is the name of the main organization in kabuto, along with ZECTORS being the transformation items

And in World Legacy Struggle, ningirsu isn't there, so he probably didn't see Ib kill herself, and assumed that Avram killed her. Also might explain why he took one of the swords (probably the one stained with her blood)
@@warriorofgod2700 It's either that or after Avram explains it, Ningirsu blames Avram for Ib's death. This is also likely why Maximus and Longirsu clash at Babel. If I had to guess it's that resentment that lead to a situation that that Maximus never wanted to happen in the first place.
The reason Ib plays an important role and has the "key" is given to us through the OCG flavour text for Crowned by the World Chalice. Konami really couldn't be arsed to give TCG players the in-depth flavour text. "A priestess who offers requiem prayers to the celestial deity of the planet. The staff she has obtained is a ritual tool handed down through generations, used to guard the people of the forest from the rule of the Jack-Knights by converting energy into barriers. Though she hides a mystical power within herself linking her to the forest's guardian dragon, she is usually a kind girl who treasures her childhood friend and older brother. "
Random little theory. Maybe we don't see more of Longirsu because he dies. As you mentioned, Dingirsu is very large, and in Orcust Crescendo, we see that Dingirsu is coming up out of the ground, smashing it apart, right at Longirsu's feet. He could easily have been mortally wounded by something like that. But his story might not end there. Lib now has the World Key, an object made from Avida who was powerful enough to rebuild the world and stop it from ending. Keys themselves are used to open doors, like the saying meaning new opportunities. So maybe, as everything came to an end, Lib found Longirsu dying and was unable to save him. So he asked her, realizing all the mistakes he made along the way, to use the power of the Key to fuse him and Dingirsu so that he can protect the world as the Mekk-Knights are gone. She agrees and he gives her his scarf thing to remember him by. She fuses the two, rebuilding them into Mekk-Knight Orcust Girsu. The power of Avram helps to move his old friend to a new path that he was always meant to walk (maybe having been the one to inspire Avram to fight in the first place like it says on Beckoned and this being why he slightly resembles Blue Sky). Lib then ties her ribbon to Girsu's arm, not only for him to remember her by, but to help him hold on to his humanity as he is now fully machine. I think this would also be poetic as the world ended with the Morning Star and would then be protected forevermore by the Evening Star. This showing that while the morning is light and the evening is dark, these distinctions can't prove if something is good or not. Like Lee. Or like the World Legacies themselves, having been symbols of hope that the world could be saved, but eventually being the cause of it's near end. Also, I don't think that Lee suddenly has a change of heart in Bestowal. What I think may have happened is that Lee, having been one of the scientists that ended the world, felt like she had to do something to fix it. However, as Morning Star had just proved, their grasp on this technology wasn't sufficient. She then entered into the World Gear to gain more knowledge of the tech and the Legacies, but was then trapped within it. So she sent out the hologram of herself to lead heroes on what she thought was the right path. But the same problem with Morning Star began to arise in her hologram's AI and all she could do was watch as another of her creations brought about the end of the world.
It's kinda sad to see Avram sacrifice himself at the end. I was hoping for a moment where the original team could all just come back together in the end and just have a reunion. Team World Chalice back together again.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how de-powered Ningirsu tanked all the Knightmares on his own? Talk about Auram all you want, but 'girsu was truly best boy; his only sin was that he cared too much.

I'm pretty sure that Dingirsu came late to the battle after he fought the knightmares And so he found Ib impaled with Avram's sword and got the wrong idea which is why he's so mad
My theory: The lab in World Legacy Memory is in Babel. Means that lab is the same lab in Orcustrated Return. After Ib died, Grisu took her back to where it all started. The facility is powered by World Wand. Its power is literally to Frankenstein people back to life, hence why the Orcust are all about banishing from grave and recycling. So the Core of Babel is where people are re-animated. Also, imagine if the disembodied voice of Lee whispered in Grisu's ear and told him to go to Babel.
I loved your take on the lore, although, I have to say there's still some things worth thinking about : 1- A-Vida is litteraly this lore's version of Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth and Tierra, so there has to be a link with Duel Terminal. 2- There's also the fact that Vanilla Ib's original text mentions a dragon's spirit, which is more likely Justicia, yet they "discover" the Chalice. That could mean the guardragons spirits could have appeared on locations different from their World Legacy counterparts, which is weird. 3- How did the scientists obtain the key? And where is Morning Star? Did he just blow up the entire world and exploded? 4- We assume that World Legacy Ark just appeared after the other 6 came close to each other (Chalice who at this point is litteraly the body of Ib, Crown on the head of Maximus, Lance, Shield, Armor on Ningirsu [dat boy was OP as hell] and Wand on top of Babel) but we don't even know why they were even there. 5 - Blue Sky is most likely the Hero mentionned in Vanilla's Auram text. Which also makes a link with the number of Mekk-Knights he was leading, 6, and the number of allies Auram has at the very end (Ib, Ningirsu, Spatha, Regulex, Magius, Almarduke) which is also 6. 6 - What was Lee handling so dearly? In the art it really looked like she wanted to protect something really precious to her, almost as if it was a baby. There was this theory going around stating that Demiurgear wasn't Lee herself, but actually her baby who might have inherited the Legacies Power when Morning Star yeeted eveything, somehow. 7 - Because this story revolves around the number 7, here's probably the truest fact about this lore : Konami sucks at importing card's text from OCG.
Something to also note is that Galatea's weapon isn't actually a sword--it's a scythe, like what a reaper would use, and sort of foreshadows her later form. I'd also wager that Auram was more then a "childhood friend" and likely a love interest, though Ningirsu would never believe or accept it. And then for Avida to come in and "reset" the World (by putting every card back into the deck), and for Ib to carry Auram with her forever in the form of the Key, even thought it's got a Dark attribute...damn, I'd watch that series!
I haven't seen much YuGi lore videos, 'cus everytime I try to watch one, is boring or not that interesting. You made this simple and entertaining, and that hour-long video felt like 10 minutes. Loved this. Great job you two! So the thing was that Ningirsu didn't arrive to Avram and Iblee's fight until she had already killed herself because he was stuck fighting the Knightmares. When he arrived it looked like Avram had killed his sister instead of saving her so that ignited his hatred for Avram. Ningirsu's corruption started either when he was fighting the Knightmares (no way his weakened self won that fight (maybe the just disappeared when she died)) or during his grief-stricken state where Lee's song of evil could inspire him to be able to create the Orcust and continue collecting the World Legacies and that's why the musical theme connects the Orcusts and the Knightmares.
YES. I’ve been waiting so long for a well made depiction of World Legacy lore- world chalice has been my favorite archetype for a long time so seeing the characters finally get their story told in a video of this quality is a dream come true :))) Day 62 of waiting for Ib to be unbanned

4:09 Doesn't Beckoned have gears in his background? Also, in Orcustrated Release, Galatea's Avram sword is glowing yellow, just like when Ib sacrificed herself.
So I was browsing the yugioh wikis to find some tech cards for deck building, and noticed that World Gears' Japanese name translates to "Star God Vessel, Dimiurgear". For those that weren't aware, "Star God" is the ocg series name for Avida, Rebuilder of Worlds; Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth; and Tierra, Source of Destruction. Which means that World Gears (or rather, the World Legacy artifacts themselves) are somehow also directly connected to Sophia and Tierra. Sophia has connections to both Nekroz and Zefra. The wiki says that Tierra is related to the Qli, and also mentions that Dimiurgear itself resembles a Qli monster. And we all know the Qli are one of the most notorious archetypes in the entire Yugioh lore and are connected to a bunch of other archetypes. It seems like the cycle in the Yugioh world keeps repeating itself: sh*t hits the fan, then a Star God has to be summoned/created to clean it up (Sophia, Avida), OR a Star God becomes The Big Bad(TM), and heroes need to team up to destroy it. When you realize how much everything inter-connects, it literally blows the mind. Konami really, really, REALLY need to consider making at least a book series for Yugioh. MTG has massive amount of lore, and the books do really well sales wise. I'm sure a Yugioh book series would be just as successful. And a sidenote, both Sophia and Tierra's Japanese names are "Creator Star God", while Avida's is "Dual Star God". So does Avida have both Sophia's and Tierra's powers? Since Dimiurgear is called a vessel, does it "store" the power of a Star God? Or maybe stole it? Maybe the World Legacy artifacts had collected it somehow? My brain hurts... lol
if you look at the card "oracle of zefra" it resembles the shining coloured orbs that each of the mekk-knights have. maybe... has connection to the mekk-knights in some timeline
also if you read "oracle of zefra" it has effects referring to each type of extra deck monster: Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, but not link monster of course.. and iblee controls these "linked monsters" she made from the original mekk knight crystal things that may be from the oracle of zefra , a new type of monster idk ;c but just a thought lol
Also lastly to note... Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth's card effect, to summon her you have to banish 1 of each extra deck monster type (ritual not extra deck but ya) Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz... so how you say it seems to always repeat itself, someone tries to take the original powers too far and need a creator god to come clean things up.. Its like every time theres a new special summon/extra monster type... the story repeats itself. so maybe if we get something again after links then all this will happen again and we need a huge star god to clean things up after people try to take powers in their own hands.. powers they shouldnt mess with. haha
I don't really play any Yugioh nowadays, but I became aware of the World Legacy lore through a Duel Logs video and thought it was super cool. So I searched for a full explanation and found your video. I legitimately watched this like a movie and was super enthralled the whole way. I got so invested in the story and your nearly feature-length re-telling that I shed a few tears towards the end. I think it's incredibly fascinating that Konami created this genuinely intriguing world and told its tale entirely through one of the most unorthodox formats I've ever seen (that being trading cards). I might start playing casually again just so I can try out some of these archetypes. Thanks a ton for putting this together! I'll be sure to also watch the follow-up, which seemingly turned out to be significantly longer than 10 minutes. But that'll have to wait for another day since I don't usually watch two movies back-to-back haha

There's already videos about the duel terminal lore (all of them are connected so start with dt1) but they end with the tiera fight because of the distance between new cards (took like 2-3 years to get the new support that adds to the story)
It's really frustrating, cause it seems like the Knightmares all have effects that correspond to a Mekk-Knight, just not the one they share a colour with: - Mermaid and Purple both tutor cards from deck - Goblin and Orange both help summon monsters from hand - Phoenix and Yellow both pop backrow - Cerberus and Red both pop monsters - Gryphon and Green both recur cards from the GY - Unicorn and Indigo admittedly don't have that much in common, but I guess Indigo moves/shuffles around on the field? (Quite a stretch lol) Maybe I'm missing something, but it seriously feels like a major missed opportunity to switch the effects of the Knightmares to correspond to the Mekk-Knights.
It's also cool how Avram is all about adding things to himself at the beginning (I.e. Mekk pieces), and he ends up fixing the gears of the world. It's literally called a gear. He was literally chosen for this because of who he is as a person. This video blew my mind open. It resonated with me on so many levels.
YO so what if the new world they create is actually the duel terminal world, and the mekk knights are reincarnated as the gem knights, and Avida is actually sophia and tierra?
Genosis pretty sure the duel terminal all happens before this does, after sombre and kerykeion stole the power from Sophia and broke the cycle of reincarnation.

The reason for mekknight orcus is longirsu he became Dingi, and almost died in Orcust cresendo, he survived and custom himself the armor and took the meknight persona in remembers of his fallen friend. Remember Avram allways wanted to be a mekKnight from the vanilla text of Chosen

I think the "beef" between girsu and maximus stemmed from Ib killing herself. Girsu came in a little later seeing only his sister being stabbed with the blade, the blade maximus wielded. Now he thinks max killed his sister that is why he hated max whilst not knowing that Ib killed herself.
No matter how many times I look for people talking about the World Legacy lore, there's always something new to discover and something I question and disagree with. One thing I noticed others have mentioned that you did not is that, when you analyze the card art of certain cards carefully enough, you can connect the dots and conclude that the World Legacy storyline is a continuation of the Duel Terminal lore. One point that I always thought was interesting was that when Lee reached her final Knightmarish form, she bore a resemblance to Sophia, the Goddess of Rebirth, a (bad and often forgotten) Duel Terminal card that wields the powers of light and dark in order to both destroy and recreate worlds. That caused me to theorize that Sofia, once vanquished long ago when she attempted to purge Duel Terminal of life, never truly died and has been present pulling the strings behind all of this the whole time in order to fulfill her divine role of destroying and and rebuilding--that the rampage of Morning Star was no accident but rather the intentional sabotage of Sophia working through Lee. And wouldn't you know it, she sort of succeeded in the end: after the world had been decimated in the final battle, Avida the Rebuilder of Worlds recreates what had been destroyed. Another thing I've always wondered about is what Lee was clutching so fiercely to when Avramax found her in the World Gears. This is just my own romantic little headcanon theory, but the idea I concocted in my head was that Lee and Blue Sky were once lovers and what she is holding is what is left of Blue Sky's soul or at least a fragment of it. The story would go something like this: the Mekk-Knights (Psychics, not Machines) were once mortals like the other inhabitants of this world, but they were upgraded with experimental technology and the power of the World Legacies to be the defenders of the world. Yet they lost a portion of their souls--of who they were--in the process. Lee and the other scientists had already discovered the remnants of Sophia at this point and given her life again in the form of an AI hologram fashioned after Lee, and when Lee realized her lover was not entirely himself anymore--that the portion of his soul which had loved her back was dead and gone--she fell into a depression and made a deal with Sophia in order to reunite with that part of Blue Sky's soul within the World Chalice. In exchange, she gave Sophia the physical form needed to corrupt the experimental Morning Star and send it on a rampage, among all the other things Sophia did. Something like, "I don't care what happens to this cursed world anymore; you can use me to destroy it as long as I get to be with my beloved again." That comes full circle in the end when Avramax, who has Blue Star's power and legacy with him, reaches out to Lee after the World Legacies have merged together and offers her one more chance to let go of what is gone and do what is right, convincing Lee to use her connection to Sophia to bestow Avramax, now Avida, with the goddess's power of rebirth.
This is some Kingdom Hearts type lore. I also really want to make a Guard Dragon + Dragon Ruler deck, I see some synergy with the elements and the discard effects.
I tried watching this lore a couple of times before but my brain would just get brainfarts along the way and I'd just loose the train of tought, but honestly 30mins into this I love the way you tell the story And even tho I'm a pretty new sub, you guys are really growing on me fast, love all the content you guys put out, and keep up the good work!!

I feel like I just binged an emotional shonen anime with this LOL I was rooting for avram, I was sympathetic to ningrisu, I mourned draco. I have a mekknight deck i played because I enjoyed the jank column abuse that no one understood but I have a deeper appreciation for the deck and the monsters in it. I’m also torn between secrets at 3 now because on the one hand- it’s so good in the deck, but on the other hand I’m reliving Ib’s condemnation over and over and over LOL
as a fan of yugioh, my dream is to make a movie series of the different stories and lore in yugioh, starting with the most well known, duel terminal. movie series one will be about the events of sophia the goddess of rebirth with the steelswarm, vylon, and so on, but adding a few other archtypes into the mix, some new, some old (quite literally new, as in i made these cards for the story) series 2 will be a continuation of 1, where phase 2 of duel terminal happens following the qliphorts and so forth. after that it'd be a bunch of movies/shorts based on yugioh lore, such as buster, the forbidden items, zera, and so forth. i'm hoping the world chalice will be a full lengthed film of live action in the duel monster world, instead of cards, cause that's what movie series 1 and 2 would be in a sense

Something that I believe, is that Crusadia Equimax is the closest thing we get to a Knightmare version of Blue Sky. Think about it. Avram gains an ability that involves link monsters, all Knightmares are mythical creatures and Equimax is a Centaur, and that’s really all I’ve got

Personally, I agree with 99% of this save for memory and morning star. While I'm still not sure where M.S. fits in I actually think Memory is the Crusadia team and Lee in the aftermath of the recreation discovering the truth of past events in their new lives

Please make more videos like this one. I am currently trying to get (back) into Yu-Gi-Oh and honestly, videos like this one make me all the more excited to pick Yu-Gi-Oh up as a hobby again. Not even because it's impactful on the gameplay, but because it makes the gameplay more "meaningful" and you can pay more respect to both your and your opponent's cards, in a way. It makes the experience more "complete". So, again, keep it up, I can't wait for more lore videos. You presented it very nicely and easy to understand.

@@CrushCards From what I already knew of the story, I'd grown a fondness for the World Chalice group, the Mekk-Knights, the Knightmares (It's really sad how they were all corrupted) and most recently (over the last few days) the Crusadia. . Seeing how everything falls into place beyond what I already knew was the icing on the cake. . I wonder if somewhere later down the road they'll do alternative story paths where maybe something like Longirsu gets Red Moon's Axe, Blue Sky gets turned into a Knightmare and Auram gets corrupted in some way too. There are several instances of choices as well so there could be instances of the opposite outcomes as well. . If they did, I wonder if you'd revisit the story and update the information.
The quality of this video is insane, you guys picked up on so many little details and that theory about the Mekk Knights really helps to explain why Morning Star is a Machine while the rest are Psychic and why it doesn't have a color associated with it.

This Story is actually so good. As many comments said, it would be worth to get a Movie.. or even in general. YuHiOh Archetypes have often pretty intresting Stories to tell... Its so sad that its more or less wasted to be left on imagination. If theyd release a Manga/Series for the Lores - even if they started at point Zero Dark Magicain and stuff. Id be mega hyped
One small thing that is definitely worth paying attention to and mentioning for the future: there's a Qliphort core in Avida's arm AND that Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star follows the naming-scheme of Mekk-Knights already, before turning into a proper one (having some kind of daytime in his 'subtitle').
I love these archetypes and their surrounding lore so much, when I initially got more into yugioh (apart from being into it as a kid) these were just releasing, and it was so fascinating to me how awesome the worldbuilding and storytelling was via cards. Now getting back into yugioh again (just as Albaz lore is wrapping up, fitting timing) and I wanted to revisit my favorite story in the world of yugioh and you explained it very clearly and it was a pleasure to remind myself of this all!
This is SO good. Had to watch in two sittings, but took in the whole thing and loved it. Started following you the first time that Lauren got an invite playing Paleo-Frogs and this channel is top-tier Yugituber realness. I love this.

Heck, their name in inZECTors, and ZECT is the name of the main organization in kabuto, along with ZECTORS being the transformation items

And in World Legacy Struggle, ningirsu isn't there, so he probably didn't see Ib kill herself, and assumed that Avram killed her. Also might explain why he took one of the swords (probably the one stained with her blood)
@@warriorofgod2700 It's either that or after Avram explains it, Ningirsu blames Avram for Ib's death. This is also likely why Maximus and Longirsu clash at Babel. If I had to guess it's that resentment that lead to a situation that that Maximus never wanted to happen in the first place.
The reason Ib plays an important role and has the "key" is given to us through the OCG flavour text for Crowned by the World Chalice. Konami really couldn't be arsed to give TCG players the in-depth flavour text.

Random little theory. Maybe we don't see more of Longirsu because he dies. As you mentioned, Dingirsu is very large, and in Orcust Crescendo, we see that Dingirsu is coming up out of the ground, smashing it apart, right at Longirsu's feet. He could easily have been mortally wounded by something like that. But his story might not end there. Lib now has the World Key, an object made from Avida who was powerful enough to rebuild the world and stop it from ending. Keys themselves are used to open doors, like the saying meaning new opportunities. So maybe, as everything came to an end, Lib found Longirsu dying and was unable to save him. So he asked her, realizing all the mistakes he made along the way, to use the power of the Key to fuse him and Dingirsu so that he can protect the world as the Mekk-Knights are gone. She agrees and he gives her his scarf thing to remember him by. She fuses the two, rebuilding them into Mekk-Knight Orcust Girsu. The power of Avram helps to move his old friend to a new path that he was always meant to walk (maybe having been the one to inspire Avram to fight in the first place like it says on Beckoned and this being why he slightly resembles Blue Sky). Lib then ties her ribbon to Girsu's arm, not only for him to remember her by, but to help him hold on to his humanity as he is now fully machine. I think this would also be poetic as the world ended with the Morning Star and would then be protected forevermore by the Evening Star. This showing that while the morning is light and the evening is dark, these distinctions can't prove if something is good or not. Like Lee. Or like the World Legacies themselves, having been symbols of hope that the world could be saved, but eventually being the cause of it's near end.
Also, I don't think that Lee suddenly has a change of heart in Bestowal. What I think may have happened is that Lee, having been one of the scientists that ended the world, felt like she had to do something to fix it. However, as Morning Star had just proved, their grasp on this technology wasn't sufficient. She then entered into the World Gear to gain more knowledge of the tech and the Legacies, but was then trapped within it. So she sent out the hologram of herself to lead heroes on what she thought was the right path. But the same problem with Morning Star began to arise in her hologram's AI and all she could do was watch as another of her creations brought about the end of the world.
Well, you can say that the ribbon "ties up" the whole story. I mean who doesn't like ending things with puns?

My theory:
The lab in World Legacy Memory is in Babel. Means that lab is the same lab in Orcustrated Return. After Ib died, Grisu took her back to where it all started. The facility is powered by World Wand. Its power is literally to Frankenstein people back to life, hence why the Orcust are all about banishing from grave and recycling. So the Core of Babel is where people are re-animated.
Also, imagine if the disembodied voice of Lee whispered in Grisu's ear and told him to go to Babel.

I loved your take on the lore, although, I have to say there's still some things worth thinking about :
1- A-Vida is litteraly this lore's version of Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth and Tierra, so there has to be a link with Duel Terminal.
2- There's also the fact that Vanilla Ib's original text mentions a dragon's spirit, which is more likely Justicia, yet they "discover" the Chalice. That could mean the guardragons spirits could have appeared on locations different from their World Legacy counterparts, which is weird.
3- How did the scientists obtain the key? And where is Morning Star? Did he just blow up the entire world and exploded?
4- We assume that World Legacy Ark just appeared after the other 6 came close to each other (Chalice who at this point is litteraly the body of Ib, Crown on the head of Maximus, Lance, Shield, Armor on Ningirsu [dat boy was OP as hell] and Wand on top of Babel) but we don't even know why they were even there.
5 - Blue Sky is most likely the Hero mentionned in Vanilla's Auram text. Which also makes a link with the number of Mekk-Knights he was leading, 6, and the number of allies Auram has at the very end (Ib, Ningirsu, Spatha, Regulex, Magius, Almarduke) which is also 6.
6 - What was Lee handling so dearly? In the art it really looked like she wanted to protect something really precious to her, almost as if it was a baby. There was this theory going around stating that Demiurgear wasn't Lee herself, but actually her baby who might have inherited the Legacies Power when Morning Star yeeted eveything, somehow.
7 - Because this story revolves around the number 7, here's probably the truest fact about this lore : Konami sucks at importing card's text from OCG.

Something to also note is that Galatea's weapon isn't actually a sword--it's a scythe, like what a reaper would use, and sort of foreshadows her later form. I'd also wager that Auram was more then a "childhood friend" and likely a love interest, though Ningirsu would never believe or accept it. And then for Avida to come in and "reset" the World (by putting every card back into the deck), and for Ib to carry Auram with her forever in the form of the Key, even thought it's got a Dark attribute...damn, I'd watch that series!

Loved this. Great job you two! So the thing was that Ningirsu didn't arrive to Avram and Iblee's fight until she had already killed herself because he was stuck fighting the Knightmares. When he arrived it looked like Avram had killed his sister instead of saving her so that ignited his hatred for Avram. Ningirsu's corruption started either when he was fighting the Knightmares (no way his weakened self won that fight (maybe the just disappeared when she died)) or during his grief-stricken state where Lee's song of evil could inspire him to be able to create the Orcust and continue collecting the World Legacies and that's why the musical theme connects the Orcusts and the Knightmares.
YES. I’ve been waiting so long for a well made depiction of World Legacy lore- world chalice has been my favorite archetype for a long time so seeing the characters finally get their story told in a video of this quality is a dream come true :)))

Mekk-Knight Avram: Check THIS out!
So I was browsing the yugioh wikis to find some tech cards for deck building, and noticed that World Gears' Japanese name translates to "Star God Vessel, Dimiurgear". For those that weren't aware, "Star God" is the ocg series name for Avida, Rebuilder of Worlds; Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth; and Tierra, Source of Destruction. Which means that World Gears (or rather, the World Legacy artifacts themselves) are somehow also directly connected to Sophia and Tierra. Sophia has connections to both Nekroz and Zefra. The wiki says that Tierra is related to the Qli, and also mentions that Dimiurgear itself resembles a Qli monster. And we all know the Qli are one of the most notorious archetypes in the entire Yugioh lore and are connected to a bunch of other archetypes. It seems like the cycle in the Yugioh world keeps repeating itself: sh*t hits the fan, then a Star God has to be summoned/created to clean it up (Sophia, Avida), OR a Star God becomes The Big Bad(TM), and heroes need to team up to destroy it. When you realize how much everything inter-connects, it literally blows the mind. Konami really, really, REALLY need to consider making at least a book series for Yugioh. MTG has massive amount of lore, and the books do really well sales wise. I'm sure a Yugioh book series would be just as successful.
And a sidenote, both Sophia and Tierra's Japanese names are "Creator Star God", while Avida's is "Dual Star God". So does Avida have both Sophia's and Tierra's powers? Since Dimiurgear is called a vessel, does it "store" the power of a Star God? Or maybe stole it? Maybe the World Legacy artifacts had collected it somehow? My brain hurts... lol
if you look at the card "oracle of zefra" it resembles the shining coloured orbs that each of the mekk-knights have. maybe... has connection to the mekk-knights in some timeline
also if you read "oracle of zefra" it has effects referring to each type of extra deck monster: Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, but not link monster of course.. and iblee controls these "linked monsters" she made from the original mekk knight crystal things that may be from the oracle of zefra , a new type of monster idk ;c but just a thought lol
Also lastly to note... Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth's card effect, to summon her you have to banish 1 of each extra deck monster type (ritual not extra deck but ya) Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz... so how you say it seems to always repeat itself, someone tries to take the original powers too far and need a creator god to come clean things up.. Its like every time theres a new special summon/extra monster type... the story repeats itself. so maybe if we get something again after links then all this will happen again and we need a huge star god to clean things up after people try to take powers in their own hands.. powers they shouldnt mess with. haha
also, the thing World Chalice Guardragon is chewing looks like Ally Mind, which are the core of Ally of Justice monsters
I think all of the overarching stories are linked in some way.
I don't really play any Yugioh nowadays, but I became aware of the World Legacy lore through a Duel Logs video and thought it was super cool. So I searched for a full explanation and found your video.
I legitimately watched this like a movie and was super enthralled the whole way. I got so invested in the story and your nearly feature-length re-telling that I shed a few tears towards the end. I think it's incredibly fascinating that Konami created this genuinely intriguing world and told its tale entirely through one of the most unorthodox formats I've ever seen (that being trading cards). I might start playing casually again just so I can try out some of these archetypes.
Thanks a ton for putting this together! I'll be sure to also watch the follow-up, which seemingly turned out to be significantly longer than 10 minutes. But that'll have to wait for another day since I don't usually watch two movies back-to-back haha

There's already videos about the duel terminal lore (all of them are connected so start with dt1) but they end with the tiera fight because of the distance between new cards (took like 2-3 years to get the new support that adds to the story)
It's really frustrating, cause it seems like the Knightmares all have effects that correspond to a Mekk-Knight, just not the one they share a colour with:
- Mermaid and Purple both tutor cards from deck
- Goblin and Orange both help summon monsters from hand
- Phoenix and Yellow both pop backrow
- Cerberus and Red both pop monsters
- Gryphon and Green both recur cards from the GY
- Unicorn and Indigo admittedly don't have that much in common, but I guess Indigo moves/shuffles around on the field? (Quite a stretch lol)
Maybe I'm missing something, but it seriously feels like a major missed opportunity to switch the effects of the Knightmares to correspond to the Mekk-Knights.

It's also cool how Avram is all about adding things to himself at the beginning (I.e. Mekk pieces), and he ends up fixing the gears of the world. It's literally called a gear. He was literally chosen for this because of who he is as a person. This video blew my mind open. It resonated with me on so many levels.
After the Orpheus lore, I would love to see one specifically about Winda

World Legacy is kind of this archetype, and even if its not a really good deck itself it is really funny to build and play ;)

@@therealduelist8397 i think they will connect everything soon. But the card "Oracle of Zefra" is originally where the mekk-knights got their powers / came from. u can see their glowing orbs are in the oracle of zefra- i believe

The reason for mekknight orcus is longirsu he became Dingi, and almost died in Orcust cresendo, he survived and custom himself the armor and took the meknight persona in remembers of his fallen friend. Remember Avram allways wanted to be a mekKnight from the vanilla text of Chosen

This is probably the longest Yu-Gi-Oh lore ever but I really loved the story to be honest. Imagine all this turned into a manga or anime XD

I think the "beef" between girsu and maximus stemmed from Ib killing herself. Girsu came in a little later seeing only his sister being stabbed with the blade, the blade maximus wielded. Now he thinks max killed his sister that is why he hated max whilst not knowing that Ib killed herself.
No matter how many times I look for people talking about the World Legacy lore, there's always something new to discover and something I question and disagree with. One thing I noticed others have mentioned that you did not is that, when you analyze the card art of certain cards carefully enough, you can connect the dots and conclude that the World Legacy storyline is a continuation of the Duel Terminal lore.
One point that I always thought was interesting was that when Lee reached her final Knightmarish form, she bore a resemblance to Sophia, the Goddess of Rebirth, a (bad and often forgotten) Duel Terminal card that wields the powers of light and dark in order to both destroy and recreate worlds. That caused me to theorize that Sofia, once vanquished long ago when she attempted to purge Duel Terminal of life, never truly died and has been present pulling the strings behind all of this the whole time in order to fulfill her divine role of destroying and and rebuilding--that the rampage of Morning Star was no accident but rather the intentional sabotage of Sophia working through Lee. And wouldn't you know it, she sort of succeeded in the end: after the world had been decimated in the final battle, Avida the Rebuilder of Worlds recreates what had been destroyed.
Another thing I've always wondered about is what Lee was clutching so fiercely to when Avramax found her in the World Gears. This is just my own romantic little headcanon theory, but the idea I concocted in my head was that Lee and Blue Sky were once lovers and what she is holding is what is left of Blue Sky's soul or at least a fragment of it. The story would go something like this: the Mekk-Knights (Psychics, not Machines) were once mortals like the other inhabitants of this world, but they were upgraded with experimental technology and the power of the World Legacies to be the defenders of the world. Yet they lost a portion of their souls--of who they were--in the process. Lee and the other scientists had already discovered the remnants of Sophia at this point and given her life again in the form of an AI hologram fashioned after Lee, and when Lee realized her lover was not entirely himself anymore--that the portion of his soul which had loved her back was dead and gone--she fell into a depression and made a deal with Sophia in order to reunite with that part of Blue Sky's soul within the World Chalice. In exchange, she gave Sophia the physical form needed to corrupt the experimental Morning Star and send it on a rampage, among all the other things Sophia did. Something like, "I don't care what happens to this cursed world anymore; you can use me to destroy it as long as I get to be with my beloved again." That comes full circle in the end when Avramax, who has Blue Star's power and legacy with him, reaches out to Lee after the World Legacies have merged together and offers her one more chance to let go of what is gone and do what is right, convincing Lee to use her connection to Sophia to bestow Avramax, now Avida, with the goddess's power of rebirth.
This is some Kingdom Hearts type lore. I also really want to make a Guard Dragon + Dragon Ruler deck, I see some synergy with the elements and the discard effects.

I tried watching this lore a couple of times before but my brain would just get brainfarts along the way and I'd just loose the train of tought, but honestly 30mins into this I love the way you tell the story

I feel like I just binged an emotional shonen anime with this LOL I was rooting for avram, I was sympathetic to ningrisu, I mourned draco. I have a mekknight deck i played because I enjoyed the jank column abuse that no one understood but I have a deeper appreciation for the deck and the monsters in it.
I’m also torn between secrets at 3 now because on the one hand- it’s so good in the deck, but on the other hand I’m reliving Ib’s condemnation over and over and over LOL
as a fan of yugioh, my dream is to make a movie series of the different stories and lore in yugioh, starting with the most well known, duel terminal. movie series one will be about the events of sophia the goddess of rebirth with the steelswarm, vylon, and so on, but adding a few other archtypes into the mix, some new, some old (quite literally new, as in i made these cards for the story) series 2 will be a continuation of 1, where phase 2 of duel terminal happens following the qliphorts and so forth. after that it'd be a bunch of movies/shorts based on yugioh lore, such as buster, the forbidden items, zera, and so forth. i'm hoping the world chalice will be a full lengthed film of live action in the duel monster world, instead of cards, cause that's what movie series 1 and 2 would be in a sense

Something that I believe, is that Crusadia Equimax is the closest thing we get to a Knightmare version of Blue Sky. Think about it. Avram gains an ability that involves link monsters, all Knightmares are mythical creatures and Equimax is a Centaur, and that’s really all I’ve got

Personally, I agree with 99% of this save for memory and morning star. While I'm still not sure where M.S. fits in I actually think Memory is the Crusadia team and Lee in the aftermath of the recreation discovering the truth of past events in their new lives

Not even because it's impactful on the gameplay, but because it makes the gameplay more "meaningful" and you can pay more respect to both your and your opponent's cards, in a way. It makes the experience more "complete". So, again, keep it up, I can't wait for more lore videos. You presented it very nicely and easy to understand.

@@CrushCards From what I already knew of the story, I'd grown a fondness for the World Chalice group, the Mekk-Knights, the Knightmares (It's really sad how they were all corrupted) and most recently (over the last few days) the Crusadia.

Seeing how everything falls into place beyond what I already knew was the icing on the cake.

I wonder if somewhere later down the road they'll do alternative story paths where maybe something like Longirsu gets Red Moon's Axe, Blue Sky gets turned into a Knightmare and Auram gets corrupted in some way too. There are several instances of choices as well so there could be instances of the opposite outcomes as well.

If they did, I wonder if you'd revisit the story and update the information.

As many comments said, it would be worth to get a Movie.. or even in general. YuHiOh Archetypes have often pretty intresting Stories to tell...
Its so sad that its more or less wasted to be left on imagination.
If theyd release a Manga/Series for the Lores - even if they started at point Zero Dark Magicain and stuff.
Id be mega hyped
One small thing that is definitely worth paying attention to and mentioning for the future: there's a Qliphort core in Avida's arm AND that Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star follows the naming-scheme of Mekk-Knights already, before turning into a proper one (having some kind of daytime in his 'subtitle').
I love these archetypes and their surrounding lore so much, when I initially got more into yugioh (apart from being into it as a kid) these were just releasing, and it was so fascinating to me how awesome the worldbuilding and storytelling was via cards.
Now getting back into yugioh again (just as Albaz lore is wrapping up, fitting timing) and I wanted to revisit my favorite story in the world of yugioh and you explained it very clearly and it was a pleasure to remind myself of this all!
This is SO good. Had to watch in two sittings, but took in the whole thing and loved it. Started following you the first time that Lauren got an invite playing Paleo-Frogs and this channel is top-tier Yugituber realness. I love this.
So far on what they released on Master Duel, you're almost everything correct until now. Can't wait now for them to drop the rest of the lore!
