Fun fact: the Persona series uses the Major Arcana for the creatures called personas, and the avatar character is represented by The Fool, and each of his bonds are represented by a different arcana, except for The World, which is obtained after reaching the True Ending
Slight correction, the "fool" thing is only true for 3,4 and 5. 1, 2 innocent sin and 2 eternal punishment use Emperor, Sun and Moon respectively. Despite their age, the first 3 persona games should still be looked at and still matter as they all have things that continue throughout the series.
@Big Cat Persona is a spinoff of a larger series that predates part 3. in concept and tarot usage. so do many other series. not everything is a jojo reference, that meme needs to die
Another good point about this archetype in somewhat of a relation to the persona series is the fact that the arcana is meant to represent the journey of the fool, wich eventually leads him to fight and overcome death and gain the world. So it's really clever that the fool, death and the world in this archetype are the same character.

Hello everyone, I just wanna point out that Spellbook Prophecy and Invoker are all from a big archetype. Why? Well, I will tell you about the lore of these archetypes as a whole. These are not 100% correct, but it is kind of true to the original lore I think. First of all "Prophecy" using magic runes and "Spellbook" as the sources of their power as you can see in their artworks. They are different with Endymion, those who using a lot of magic circle. I have researched a lot to make sure Prophecy doesn't have any connection to Endymion. Anyways, here is why Prophecy is connected to Invoker: In 2017 Konami had revealed who was the origin of Prophecy. That was Aleister the Invoker. His full name probably is Aleister Crowley, because in the artwork of the new Spellbook Link monster "Crowley, the first Prophecy" you can tell that card is almost identical to Aleister. He wasn't the first person to controlled magic power, but due to him obtained a really powerful artifact called "The Book Of The Law", he could summon and control some really powerful creatures and using their power as his own. After so much experiments with the magic power inside the artifact, Aleister made a mistake. He made an experiment with the Dark Magic using his own body, which made him unable to control it and corrupted. This can be shown in the artwork of the new Invoker Link monster, "Aleister, the Invoker of Madness" and "Omega Summon". It was pretty sure that Aleister was the Ancestor of Prohpecy, and he had builted a "Grand Spellbook Tower" to passed down his magic knowledge to his succesors before he corrupted and tranformed into "Invoked Caliga". I think this tower didn't built on Earth, it was built on "Invoked Elysium", an enormous sky island artifact that Aleister created using "The Book Of The Law". Aleister's successors have inherited and using "The Book Of The Law" to expanded his magic knowledges as a whole. Now as you can guess it, it was also pretty clearly that "The Book Of The Law" is the source of all the "Spellbook" that all the Prophecy used. Not only they expanded the using of magic runes, it seem that Aleister successors also built a kind of monastry that have Monarch and Empress on the top of it, as you can see in the names of the prophecy. Now you may ask, why are Prophecy different to Endymions? Well, maybe due to Endymion stayed at the Earth and Prophecy, who living in the sky island Elysium had completely seperated their magic knowledges and went on two completely different ways. If Prophecy using the magic runes and "Spellbook" as their sources of power, it seem that Endymion focus on using a lot of magic circles as their main power. Not only that, Endymion also can tame Mythical Beasts, and command them as their own will. It also pretty clear that Endymion is some kind of magic city and school, so they are completely different to Prophecy monastry. Well, as first I thought that Prophecy and Endymion have some connection in some ways, shapes or forms, so that was kinda disappointing. But Aleister being the first Prophecy was pretty cool tho. now that is the lore I researched. Do you have any question? comment down below!
We need that Deskbot or Junk Archetype video my guy. We're thirsty and dying for it. Maybe that's just me? Either way, great video as always, best Yugituber this side of the shadow realm
Interesting trivia: -It's supposed that Aleister was the founder of the Spellbooks. -Aleister Crowley redesigned the Tarot naming it The Tarot of Toth, so, that's why they're named after Tarot cards.
Which "they" are you referring to? Aleister Crowley is famous for having designed the Thoth Tarot deck alongside Lady Frieda Harris, but he was far from the only one to do so; the most popular Tarot style is the Rider-Waite-Smith style, which uses very different names for the cards, and even a slightly different order for some Major Arcana card. Plus, all the cards they redesigned were based off the card game from Renaissance Italy.
I do appreciate that you pointed out that Tarot started out as a card game, and not a form of divination back in Ancient Egypt (you know, like Duel Monsters were canonically). But the way you do a Tarot reading is a bit different from how you described (with two separate decks of Major and Minor, etc., and it can vary per person). It's also not ALWAYS for telling the future. Some readers, myself included, believe that you don't always need a random card to act as a significator (a.k.a. the "you") card, and that whether cards are reversed or upright matter. While many cards are based off the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition, and the meanings are pretty well-known, they're also not set in stone; they've changed over the decades, and can be heavily influenced by the art and the reader.
Hold on "Secrets", "Miracles", "'Power", "Wisdom", "The Master"... Aren't those some of the Agent monsters? Agent of Mystery (Secrets) - Earth Agent of Miracles - Jupiter Agent of Wisdom - Mercury Agent of Force - Mars and their master, the sun: Master Hyperion
Due to the Attribute, level, attack points, defense points and the overall demonic aesthetic, Prophecy Destroyer looks more like a "Summoned Skull/Archfiend" monster than anything else.

There's a subset of spirituality known as chaos magic. You have inadvertently and accidentally created a wonderful tool of divination using chaos magic. It's not how things are supposed to happen but it works well enough lol
I'm surprised you relied so much on the Vampire Tarot. Call me old-fashioned if you will, but I tend to keep a Rider-Waite deck lying around, just in case. A remnant from an old D&D character who dabbled in it.
Many things to say here. 1. I want a deck with this archetype now, tarot is my jam. 2. I LOVED the little skit XD Too funny. 3. I love how you broke down the history of tarot and how it works. 4. WHERE did you get your deck? It's so cool and I need one!
Prophecy Destroyer has such a diffeend artstyle to not only the archetype itself but also any other Yu-Gi-Oh! cards in general that he doasn't look like one at all. I would say he maby has a more fitting place in a magic the gathering deck than a Yu-GI-Oh! one or maby artwork from Elder Scrolls?
@@Christian-rn1ur I wouldn't be suprised if destroyer was made by an mtg artist too. it's art looks nothing like other yugioh card art. not that thats a bad thing.
Fun fact: "Crowley, The First Propheseer"'s artwork shows (Aleister) Crowley in a strange tank filled with liquid. This could possibly be a reference to the "A Certain Magical Index" Light Novels and Anime, where another character named Aleister Crowley is depicted in a similar glass-tank. I'm not saying it IS a reference, but it could be, since there are enough similarities to make it look that way

The Prophecy Deck is my favorite and I'm actually working on what cards (in my collection) could work as a minor arcana so I can have a YuGiOh tarot deck to go with my other 5 tarot decks
😁 I read tarot. 😅 Technically you can use Yu-Gi-Oh cards they would just be classified as an oracle deck. You would just have makeup meanings like people in the comments are doing and internalize the meanings so you can bounce off the symbolism. Also Crowley deck, Thoth, is a different system to what most people think of as tarot since most decks are based on the Rider-Waite. Basically some of the meanings and symbolism don't line up so you need Thoth specific references to learn Crowley's deck.
I would like to add that the method he showed for tarot divination is one of many different card layouts they use for tarot they don't always select a major arcana to start
Well, I tried to throw a dice and a con to see which carot card I got like the video suggested. I got the Reverse Wheel of Fortune. Lack of Control, Desire to Take Control, and Bad Luck. ...This is too damn accurate XD.
The first second and third cards in a tarot readkng also represent Past, Present and Future. What happened and what you'd done in the past. What is happening and what you are or should do now. And what may happen if you continue on your cirrent path or change your path. It's complex as hell and it takes someone really skilled in divination to get it right. Every card means something different whether reversed (top of the card facing the one doing the reading) or straight (top of the card facing the one the reading is for)
I would have to omitted. Pulling a Jerry Beans Man, as my first grab out of a commons box labeled A-D, was the starting point to about 2 weeks worth of bad luck.
I have to agree with Endymion here, you can't just give unlimited access to such power to just anyone. It needs to be kept under supervision and given to people who are responsible.
While I do agree that they should atleast keep it limited because even a few bad apples can cause a lot of damage he shouldn't have just raided their kingdom and killed innocent people
If Crowley made the spellbook place then why doesn’t the archetype use Crowley’s deck variation? For example if It did we would have spellbook of Aeon instead of spellbook of judgement
I got 17: the star, upside-down. "When the Star comes up in a reversed position, it suggests you do not believe in yourself and your ability to achieve your goals. As a block, this card represents a lack of vision for your own future and a lack of trust in yourself." That's... Terrifyingly accurate.
So one thing i wanted to add:crowley is here because he created the thoth card deck. This card deck was done to rid tarot cards of christian implications like the hierophant being a katholic priest while the priest in the thoth deck is a shaman, judgement because of the day of reckoning immigary replacing it with aeon or world whose animals symbolize the 4 apostles that wrote the bible replacing the arcana with universe
I love how all of the monsters art style is anime and fantasy based wizards and then Prophecy Destroyer comes in like a Diablo boss battle character.
While every artist do a soft anime shading, this Chad artist came in and do a game render for the card art.
Rafael Fernandez Apparently Destroyer was a TCG card created as the cover card of a Mega Tin. The difference in style and effect really shows. Looks more like a Magic the Gathering card (and that’s not meant as a jab at MtG).
I thought prophecy destroyer was an mtg card based on the thumbnail art.
I can't stop looking at that sword and notice how it is slightly off-centered.
I swear I thought it was a fanmade card with art taken from a MTG card and was In disbelief when I saw it was in Duel Links.

But in this 500 years in the future situation, do we finally learn what Pot of Greed means?
So Joey's the Fool Arcana
Almost every anime protagonist in Shonen anime/manga can represent “The Fool”
Fun fact jaden was legit labeled as the fool in season 2 which kinda fits as he was able to change the future
Nice thing to know, it seems that each (or at least a lot of them) Prophecy card are name in French in the original name.
La mort (pronounced lamor) means The Death
Soleil means Sun
Force means Strength
invoked, spellbook, prophecy, spell counter, Endymion intertwined archetypes are really cool
and tell an intresting story
And later Witchcrafter and Mythical Beast.
I love collecting leather books the give of a spellbook apprentice
I require a jerry beans man archetype review
We need toon Jerry beans man
There's a subset of spirituality known as chaos magic. You have inadvertently and accidentally created a wonderful tool of divination using chaos magic. It's not how things are supposed to happen but it works well enough lol
Hi, I came here for the Yugioh information but then I saw your RWBY shirt and now you have my eternal loyalty.
The Counter Fairy archetype whould be fun to watch
Prophecy Destroyer has such a diffeend artstyle to not only the archetype itself but also any other Yu-Gi-Oh! cards in general that he doasn't look like one at all. I would say he maby has a more fitting place in a magic the gathering deck than a Yu-GI-Oh! one or maby artwork from Elder Scrolls?
I swear the last monster card look like someone copied and pasted a picture on it
It looks out of place like it would be a magic card or something
best boi UNU it was actually designed by a MtG artist
@@Christian-rn1ur I wouldn't be suprised if destroyer was made by an mtg artist too. it's art looks nothing like other yugioh card art. not that thats a bad thing.
@@Christian-rn1ur yeah that males sense it just has the magic feel to its artwork
@@Christian-rn1ur the Outer Gods monsters, Nyarla and Azathoth or whatever they were, are the same way. They look a lot like MTG monsters.
Prophecy destroyer looks like a MTG card rather than a Yu-Gi-Oh card
Appreciate the little skits you have there
you've peaked my intrestd in the story ofendymion the controlling, we must explore this lore!
I think this was one of your best!
I'm not saying it IS a reference, but it could be, since there are enough similarities to make it look that way
Will you every do "The World Legacy" archetype?
Dear Lord, do you have any idea how long that will take?
Dear Lord, do you have any idea how long that will take?
There's a huge collective reading community on RUclips. A youtuber called Waterbaby tarot explains, how to go beyond the barnum effect while she performs sepereate subject readings, on planerary positions specific to you. It can take a long time to find online readers who you resonate with but this woman is blunt and on it like a car bonnet.
"Ah a very rare Yu Gi Oh card, a Magikarp." if someone believe Magikarp is yugioh card, then we have a problem here, as that person could live in the caves or stone.
These guys were apparently the only thing that kept full power Dragon Rulers from being Tier 0. Spell Book of Judgement is nuts.
And Evilswarm kept them both in check.
@@thecardboardboxl3922now I'm just imagining them as rulers and books as the blue and green swordsmen in that one meme, and the evilswarms being the dragonborn looking thing who stabs both of them
The Prophecy Deck is my favorite and I'm actually working on what cards (in my collection) could work as a minor arcana so I can have a YuGiOh tarot deck to go with my other 5 tarot decks
14:38 I found kakyoin incarnate
You own a vampire themed tarot cards very cool nice
Every card means something different whether reversed (top of the card facing the one doing the reading) or straight (top of the card facing the one the reading is for)
I actually have a really old copy of spellbook organization from back when it was called "Pigeonholing Book of Spell"
Yay Spellbooks! I love this archetype!
was anyone else expecting a jojo's bizarre adventure joke when he got to ZA WURLDO!!
The character Saiou in GX also used a tarot themed deck and was voiced by the same man who went on to voice DIO
This whole video is a Jojo reference
I was expecting one
16:30 When i saw the first time thar card i thought the artwork was made by magic the gathering. So fricking cool!!
Great video.
I'm really enjoying this yu-gi-oh lore.
Could you make subterror next.
While I do agree that they should atleast keep it limited because even a few bad apples can cause a lot of damage he shouldn't have just raided their kingdom and killed innocent people
Blackwings next Sam? With their recent support in Duel Links? Always been interesting in their naming. 😅
please do a melodious or lunalight deck archtype trivia next
If Crowley made the spellbook place then why doesn’t the archetype use Crowley’s deck variation? For example if It did we would have spellbook of Aeon instead of spellbook of judgement
I got 17: the star, upside-down. "When the Star comes up in a reversed position, it suggests you do not believe in yourself and your ability to achieve your goals. As a block, this card represents a lack of vision for your own future and a lack of trust in yourself."
That's... Terrifyingly accurate.
Mine was 2 then 22 upside down 13 upside down 8 right side up
That really is scary true though
... I gotta pee
*Walks off with Squeeky shoes*
prophecy destroyer could very well be a MTG card, even among other yugioh cards there's a massive contrast between it and even other demon cards.
Yeah, and the Outer Entities, Azathoth and Nyarla look like they're from MTG too
Love the video
I'm was finding spellbook story and i see your video
Love it❤
So one thing i wanted to add:crowley is here because he created the thoth card deck.
