However, I am still avoiding any travel to Florida until the state elects a Democrat governor who won’t be afraid to shut down this theme park for at least a year the way Gavin Newsom did in California. DeSantis is a fascist dictator who refused to use his power to shut down the Florida theme park industry in response to Covid, a decision which I’m sure resulted in millions of deaths.
Florida needs to get its act together and start behaving more like California, which is a virus-free state now thanks to all of Governor Newsom’s great work.

It appears Universal is taking their food offerings very seriously. They have been doing so since Volcano Bay opened with that really awesome menu which had to be scaled back and now with Minions Cafe. This is a good sign.
Very impressed with the speed of construction for Epic Universe. This would take Disney 10 years or more to complete.

They took over 5 years to build one cloned ride. I can’t even imagine a whole brand new theme park, multiple resorts, backstage and transport infrastructure from scratch 💀

@@TheWASHINGMACHINEBOY What does this have to do with how fast Disney builds a single attraction? @storey13 had a point of Universal is building an entire park as fast as Disney is building a single attraction which is just a duplicate of one they already designed and built elsewhere.
The scale of some of these areas of the park, especially the Harry Potter area, are mind-boggling. Can't imagine how much money they are spending to build this park, but as a Florida resident I'm hella excited to drive to Orlando to visit this place

One thing I think would be really cool for the Wizarding World is some sort of interactive experience involving magical beasts to go along with the Fantastic Beasts films. Maybe things like getting to bow to/pet a hippogriff, feed the puffskeins (watch out for their long tongues!).
Yeah, I think they have the meet-able Hippogriffs in Japan. Would be nice if they were brought over.
I wonder if they’re going to try to distance themselves from the beasts films since they flopped and instead focus on Beauxbatons 🤔
@@uhuhuh1966No. They had the opportunity during early framing to change the setting, but instead they were excited for the third Fantastic Beasts film, as if that was somehow going to save it. I understand that there are fans, but among the Harry Potter fans, they are few. I kept watching these update videos hopping that they would decide to change it, but no. It became more and more Parisian with every update.
It sounds like this may be a more “modern” Paris, well, as modern as the Wizarding World gets, because they can’t time travel with Doc Brown’s institute gone, so we have guests wondering around a Wizarding Paris, and taking the floo network to London to actually see Harry Potter stuff. It doesn’t make much sense to have a Fantastic Beasts land and no attractions beyond the circus to really take you into that world, so it seems to me that they last minute did add in Harry Potter, reworking things instead of a “help me capture that magical creature” type ride. If you only have time to resdesign something, you change the ride, rather than the land itself. I would be curious to know what their plans are for the expansion area. Will it be HP or FB? Rumors say HP, with either a Great Hall restaurant, or that quidditch broom ride that originally was believed to replace fear factor.
The circus show is definitely going to be centered around fantastic beasts, and I have no doubt parts of the show will interact with the audience.

I'm fascinated by the name choice of "Wizarding World Ministry of Magic." Like I get that the fantastic beasts films didn't perform nearly as well as WB hoped, but imagine if Diagon Alley was named "Wizarding World of Harry Potter- Gringotts Bank" lol. Would've caused some confusion until the guests looked around hard enough and thennn understood the name later on.

As a monster fan I am excited. The name "Curse of the Werewolf" is very Hammer Horror film though, but I don't think it'll cause any confusion, its a little odd name.
I kind of hope that they use this opportunity to put back up the sets that were in Studio 28, the iconic Phantom of the Opera auditorium. I can think of no better place to put it. And maybe they can bring back out the makeup shows? Or even have a little exhibition for things from these movies, since they are so important for the history of Universal.
I can see Universal will be come the dominate family park in Orlando. Great job as always on the updates. .

The best way that Disney could hope to compete with Epic Universe is by investing more in Star Wars within their parks. Specifically, the original movies. There’s a plethora of untapped potential that could easily equate to an entirely new park, with different lands based on various planets within the SW galaxy. And by utilizing ideas from the original movies, they’ll appeal to older fans that have the disposable income for these kinds of activities on a regular basis.

But anyone who's been paying attention to Disney for the past 15yrs, knows they aren't going to do anything that's truly imaginative and key word: EXPENSIVE. They want to spend the least amount possible to do anything these days. And what they do build is usually somewhat lackluster. Most of the imagineers are now working for Universal. Thus the beauty of their expansions and new parks. Meanwhile at the Mouse House: Lots of promises, with very little results.
I know the HP section is supposed to be France but I would love if they could figure out a way to put Kowalski’s bakery in there! Maybe he franchised? 😂

joking aside, great analysis of the excellent Bioreconstruct images as always - I suspect I'll not witness another project like this for decades if ever, so really enjoying seeing it come together. I think universal monsters is my most hyped area followed by how to train your dragon and super Nintendo world the wizarding world comes in last but all the areas ip are from my childhood it could easily become my perfect park

8:27 Why am I tempted to apply? XD I'm nowhere near Florida, and nowhere near good enough in any of the departments. I wouldn't know how to perform a "comedic monologue", my dialectic fluencies are limited to northern American English and American English Snarkasm, I've never touched a real drum and certainly don't have have one, although I may have a fair sense of rhythm, I'm not outstanding with any of my instruments, I don't know what a "Jazz combination" is, certainly couldn't compile a dance reel, have never attempted puppeteering, and though I may be very nearly six feet, unless church choir counts as "musical theater", would be limited to possibly a couple songs from Sound of Music. (Is "Edelweiss" even 16 bars??) Still, it sounds fun! XD XD
So is the central hub going to have a Nintendo Store like the one in New York or is it just a gift shop?
I think it’s just a Nintendo gift shop, but it should be themed really pretty as everything in the hub is being designed nicely. It won’t be very big though, so nothing like the NY store.
While I'm pretty good with pronouncing the Romance languages, I'm far from great with French. So I'd say all yours are in the "close enough" except for maybe "Sirène", which is a word I have said aloud, for some reason. (Probably art-related. French painters like them some Sirènes.) Anyhow, "see-RAIN" is close enough.
As for K. Rammelle, the letter K is pronounced " ka" so it's basically Ka Rammelle. Clever, no?
