  • Guys, I wanted to share a little bit about The Bama Hill-Billy (BHB). For whatever reason, firearms channels, threads, websites, are full of goofball know-it-alls. Most of these goofballs haven't had any formal training and don't know their asses from a hole in the ground. But they read online shit, and watch tv and suddenly they are firearms geniuses!
But, for the record I am not claiming to know any more than anyone else. I am certainly not a know-it-all. I don't memorize FPS, and Ft Pounds and Models or anything. I simply don't care. I don't even consider myself a firearms enthusiast. I've become familiar with firearms and training because of it was part of what i did with my adult life. If you know more than me. OK. Plenty do.
The BHB started shooting the M16A2 in 1986. I've probably shot more tracers than most people have shot total bullets. Don't claim to be an expert with it. Because I've qualified with the M16 from everything from Expert to Pizza Box (Marines know what this means!). Of course I do want to tell you guys the qualification course in the USMC used to be 200, 300, and 500 meters with IRON sights. It used to be, maybe it still is, a decently difficult course of fire. Back in those days, one thing the USMC did well was teach people excellent marksmanship skills. I don't know if things have changed or not but that is how it was for me. And honestly, I'll tell you right now, I could never do that now. My old, tired ass eyes would need some serious optics to shoot those distances.
Since those days I have been "issued" the Sig 228, G22, and G19M. Over the decades I have shot probably tens of thousands of rounds through those weapons. And of course I have also shot numerous government owned Remington 870's and whatever the semi-auto version is. I don't feel like looking it up because I just don't care. I personally always preferred the 870 because the semi-auto's tended to malfunction enough for me to notice and I am not a fan of failure. And I have also shot a lotta rounds with Government ARs so tricked out they cost almost as much as a Kia. Thank you so much for paying for the ammo and for me to shoot a lotta rounds down range.
I've trained shooting every quarter with firearms for DECADES. Search/arrest warrant training, building entry training, active shooter training, regular qualifying, simunitions, defensive tactics, and more. Done it all for real too...except for thank God never a real active shooter situation. Although I would like to believe - if the situation like Uvaldi happened - Me, and the people I worked with, would have made entry and acted rather than stand down while...
But, if you've made it this far, thanks for reading. Know, I am not claiming to be an expert regarding anything. I have a lot of experiences and a lot of training. When I do a video like demonstrating how to make your Glock a safe weapon, how to hold your weapon, marksmanship pointers, I am showing you the way I was trained for decades. If Billy-Bob and Jimmy-Joe have given you better advice...
