Welp, it looks like I won't be able to make my release window for my Lost Stars video. To make up for it, here's a short video about me reacting to the announcements of the new novellas, and the next two books in The Broken Code saga!

I think Tree's Root isn't a cats name but more like the roots, the background of Tree's backstory and how he can see spirits. If that's case, that be a good read!

Reedwhisker’s loyalty: Leafpool saved his life on his first day as an apprentice and I’ve always wanted to see him be conflicted over loyalty to his clan and loyalty to the cat that saved his life.
Windflights dedication: according to the books Wildflight is half Windclan half Thunderclan and all the clans know but other then it being mentioned once or twice no cat talks about it. Personally I’d like to see more.
Redtails tale: (I don’t see Redtail’s debt as canon considering the conflicting information) I want the information to line up with the original story and still be interesting.

I love the art of Veil of Shadows. I may be just a sucker for blues and purples and glows in dark themes. I'm still salty that people were mad about the new covers just recently when the German covers did the same organization or format for years.
I hope the Tree's roots name doesn't make you leaf the fandom. I'm sorry that some people like puns, but you shouldn't pun-ish the creators just for a terrible name

Idk, "Tree's Roots" sounds pretty nice to me. The "roots" part obviously means his origins. They COULD have just named it "Tree's Origins", but they had to take the opportunity. It's a pun that makes sense
"Pebbleshine's Kits", on the other hand... It sounds like Pebbleshine's best character trait is her kits

im actually very excited for tree’s roots! i feel like it will be about him before he came to the clans, interacting with various spirits and such- he might run into kittypets, rouges, there’s all sorts of non-clan cats we know! maybe theyll shoehorn in jake again, or (and this is a stretch) maybe even scourge!! or princess? sparrow, reena and them from tallstars revenge? we’ll see!!

Omg I just learned about the third book in bright guardian akira’s video and oh my starclan it’s pretty and honestly I’m freaking out like I always do what a new book is announced I don’t know why and I wanna read the novella but I can’t cuz it’s about characters in the Broken Code series and I don’t want spoilers cuz I’m only on fading echos!
I know this is from a year ago, but since I have finally read Warriors: A Warrior’s Spirit. And I wanted to give my opinion on it.
Pebbleshine’s Kits - it was okay. I like Pebbleshine, a determined, feisty she-cat. For someone who hasn’t read past series 4, I appreciated Pebbleshine. Until the ending... sooooooo StarClan cats can makes cats ghosts? Whhyyy? How? I also don’t understand why Pebbleshine chose to be a ghost instead of watching over her kits in StarClan. If she wants to see her kits grow up, she could visit them in their dreams! Also, she was called Puddleshine near the end which made me laugh.

Tree’s Roots - Barely knew of the cat called Tree but this was a great story, the idea of being what your parents dream of then being thrown out into the world before you are ready was great. Plus, Tree eventually realized what made him happy, spending time alone and sometimes talking with random cats. He didn't have to live to his mother’s expectation. Simple but effective storytelling. ^_^

Mothwing’s Secret - Very good story as well. The relationship between Hawkfrost and Mothwing was never really explored so I’m glad to see it at last. You can see the pressure Hawkfrost is placing into his sister; rather than considering her feelings, he pushes her to be a medicine cat because then they will be accepted. I believe the real reason was because he wanted someone he knew and trusted to be his medicine cat so that he continue his control over her, especially when he became leader, to have his sister always back him up. Even the concept of StarClan here is handled well; Mothwing doesn’t realize how important StarClan is until it’s too late. Nice to see it all unfold.

Judging by the third book's description, the most important thing that'll happen in silent thaw is that Rootpaw's gonna tell a few cats about Bramblestar.
I think Tree's *Roots* has something to do with his *Roots* going from him to *Root* paw

I think a lynx will appear in the second book and befriend Violetshine. The clans will trust the Lynx or fear it. I say Violetshine cause on the vision of shadows 1st book the background can is most likely her.
Bristlefrost I think. Mainly because Rootpaw and Shadowpaw are on the other two

They should stop the six books nonsense. You can really tell they've been struggling to fill pages these last few arcs. A trilogy would be fine! it would cut out a lot of filler and keep the book concise and build to a good climax. If they want the same characters, go ahead. We don't need new characters every series!
I would have loved to hang out with Alderheart and Violetshine some more. This Bramblestar possession thing could have worked just as well with them! Tree could have seen his spirit instead of Rootpaw. Alderheart could provide the concerned son pov in ThunderClan. The addition of Shadowpaw as a protagonist would have been fine as he at least did add something the other previous characters couldn't.
Or just actually plan the story.
This is a lament I've had for a long time. With so little time between book releases and new arcs, at this point the authors probably start with an idea and hope the details come later. Which is a pity because there was some really good stuff in AVOS that needed better execution and it would have been the best series since the first arc.
This new series has potential (it is only the first book), but the track record isn't the best. I wish HarperCollins would let them release books at a slower rate so they could polish their ideas. Victoria's Prophecy Begins was the best (despite it's flaws) because it was so thoroughly planned out.
Okay, Tree's Root's. You're allowed to not like the pun, I'm fine with it, but...

I found the Silent Thaw to actually be really good, and while not everything was necessary to the plot, it did a good job of showing the rising tension in ThunderClan.

I haven't had the chance to read about Tree yet, Im on The Apprentices Quest so yeah!

Mothwing’s story was my second favorite. It was kinda recap but it was interesting to see some interaction between her and Hawkfrost.
Tree’s Roots literally made me cry and I love love loved it.
And I think Pebbleshine’s story was my least favorite… it wasn’t anything particularly new, but I did like it. I liked being able to see into her character a bit, but there WAS a lot of traveling and inner monologue I think. I think my favorite parts were finding out she’d interacted with Tree and the ending when we get to see how she declines StarClan and watches over her kits 🥺

Three, most likely. Most of the arcs have a problem with the front half (first 3) being fine, and then the back half shoots itself in the foot repeatedly.

Mistystar omen was about mistystar getting used to the fact that not everyone believes in starclan and thinking that mothwing was a useless medicine cat cuz of it. Im thinking this one is how mothwing change her thinking after the great battle.

"What's the point of the second book?" Well as someone who's read it GIRL LEMME TELL YOU-! Lol
This is the one time I actually think filler would be a benefit to the series. Why? Because unlike the other series, this arc is throwing in something and not explaining it right away (which I’m so down for, don’t get me wrong) and having them show things slowly would actually be pretty cool. Plus with the three separate POVs in three separate clans, it’d be interesting to see how each clan reacts to Bramblestar’s sudden personality change. I want to see Tigerstar’s reaction to the code breakers like himself being called out. I want to see Leafstar’s reaction to how serious the code is being taken in the other clans compared to in SkyClan. I want to see how ThunderClan deals with this. Especially since there are a lot of code breakers in ThunderClan/children of code breakers
If you're gonna go into a book making yourself hate it (on the title no less) then you're probably not gonna enjoy it even if it actually comes out good. Not a great mindset to put yourself in.
