How refreshing to finally hear some real music. There isn’t even a genre for it anymore. Two generations haven’t heard anything like this fantastic album incredible playing by everyone. I hope this makes it around the globe how to get into the American market based on entertainment as opposed to music That’s gonna be hard even for Simon. I say this from experience, but this band kicks ass great songwriting.
Ah, brilliant progressive rock fusion that doesn't have a total negative energy vibe. And unlike watching the typical prog band, Mohini just lights up the screen with both natural beauty and great fashion sense (in addition to being the most brilliant bassist of her generation and one of the very best ever). I wonder if the cat-eye glasses were a little nod to the OTHER brilliant lady bassist Carol Kaye who sometimes sported them, but as someone who once aspired to be a fashion designer, as well as a bassist myself, I just can't get enough of her in this video. And the fact they are smiling and enjoying themselves as opposed to so many rock and prog videos where it's five guys in black leather and ugly t-shirts scowling at the world. This song is a rarity, super top-flight musicians playing something accessible, singable, positive, and fun. Seeing Simon smile like 'life is good' and Mohini looking like Indrani playing a five-string Mayones bass is the perfect summer vid- and even Matt looks like he's having a good time. The music is, of course, tight and intricate without overtly calling our attention to the fact, too!
