That's the deal from 4 years ago? Did the landlady increase the price every year?

Not every year but recently. It was a good deal, a bit like 'golden handcuffs' in that i stayed there a bit too long.

I'll be making the move to Vietnam in a few weeks. Isn't D2 notorious for flooding? If so, does the whole district flood, or is it just certain areas?

Ye she had a terribly uncomfortable local style one when i moved in so i switched it to that one. Thao Dien is terrible for flooding during rainy season, choose wisely where you live there.
