Thanks for another video update. The main reason why i picked Da Nang for my travels is because of the quiet life. I want to enjoy the casual walks and beach. I just didn't realize the rainy season is all of January. Lol
I stayed in that part of Danang three years ago. The beach is great and the air is clean but they were building another high rise next to the hotel I booked. It appears things haven't changed much re Danang's building boom. There were only a few pubs/bars to check out locally then. I noticed on google maps there are now many more watering hole options available which is a good thing.
yes plenty of options now Doug, but unfortunately the an thuong area is a building site and probably wouldn't be suitable for many to stay at least long term.
I have been to Da Nang twice but I did not spend much time in the city center. I love nature more than conveniences in the downtown so... Love your videos. Hope I have a chance to see you someday in the future (in Saigon maybe). I'll treat you a coffee :)
Thanks for your honest overview of Da Nang. Sensible choice, Make it long term. Drop all hesitation and start growing your friends list. Great Apartment will appear though friendships
It's kinda reasonable from the outside but from a local standpoint that's very expensive if you take into account the local economy, salaries and the actual standard of the accommodation available.
@@expatnam. Oh yeah, it’s definitely a lot according to the local! Do you know of the most recent international insurance cost for an outsider living in Vietnam? I’m curious about withdrawing money to spend when one live there for a long term. Thank you for doing these videos. I would love to hear from a retire person standpoint. Especially about there social security and their medicare coverage. What happened when they live outside of their own country. Would they lose the medicare portion?
Lucky you to be able to work remotely. I would choose as well because of the infrastructure... Free Beachvolleyball courts at the beach... (In your video). None other cities in Vietnam do have such options. That is 1 example).
What kinds of drinks do they serve in these interesting cafes ? I see a green drink on the picture. If you ever want to do a video on that kind of thing would be cool. Like going through a drinks menu or just kind of mentioning what ppl like to drink there
Sure will do. There's quite a big organic/vegan community here so you can get some really good options in regards to drinks and juices. The one in the picture if i recall was a kale, pineapple, beetroot, orange & chia seed smoothie.
Vietnamese online news recently brought up the short 30 days and complex visa issue that they think impacts the tourist industry especially when tourism is already recovered in neighboring countries but not in Vietnam. So, hopefully something will change soon.
Yes. I've been following the news closely here but it seems the same old stories are used time and time again recently. I'm expecting some announcement in the coming months, maybe an extension of the evisa to include more countries. In Vietnam though you never really know!
Having trouble finding a place to live shocks me! You are either very picky or things have changed drastically in DaNang. I'm under the impression that there are more apartments available than tenants. Just noticed you have no mirrors on your bike. Couldn't live without mirrors. 👍🇻🇳
I am a bit picky as i like quiet which is hard to come by. Main reason imo about lack of options is the sudden influx of Russians at the moment. It's unusual to have wing mirrors on a bicycle here but i have thought about it as it's a good idea, project for the new year perhaps.
I do yes. You may be be able to find work in one of the private hospitals but probably not a public one. There are some foreign Drs here but they're few and far between.
I like it a lot and hope to do some videos there in the future. I think it would also be a good place to live and may even decide to move there as it's pretty close to DN
Just curios, I wonder if you are staying alone or you have a couple. I ask because I need to make a decision weather all this moving around to different city can be done alone without needing a Vietnamese wife to assist in speaking , translating, being scam, etc.
You shouldn't just get a wife to help you translate. You get married because you care for them, they care for you and want a future together. Sorry, just my thoughts.
👍 That beach boulevard is awesome, just like along Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki!

Well it's a glorious day today (xmas day) so there is hope! I'm hoping by end of jan things will be spring like and more settled
Good all round video. The health aspect definitely seems a positive there rather than huge city like ho chi minh
Yes i hope so. Nowhere is perfect but you roll the dice, take a chance and hopefully it works out in the end.

Thanks Le, would be good to catch up someday, all the best.
Awesome video 🔥🔥 Da nang city is beautiful ❤️
Yes it is

Thanks for the advice, hoping to make it long term if things pan out.
I really like Da Nang too. We looked at an apartment for $550. reasonable price.

Yes lucky i can do that for now, fingers crossed for a long time as well. Ye lots of that here and beach football as well.

@@expatnam interesting. Sounds like a good place to take care of the health
Should of went to Quy Nhon! 🤩😍🌊
maybe, but i think a bit too 'local' still. If it doesn't have wood fired pizzas i can't move there😉

Let's get together and collab on a video soon.
Awesome, great idea. Best to msg here namexpat@gmail.com
On danang beach, do you see people sailing: kitesurfing, wingfoiling? Thank you.
Yes quite a few-surfing is quite popular now. Kitesurfing still pretty niche here but you do see it. Never seen a sail boat in VN though.
Da Nang definitely a better choice over Saigon if I had to make one. Are you planning on E biking to the Dragon Bridge ??
Yes definitely. I did it yesterday Bruce and will make a video on it next week. Was pretty cool riding over that.
@@expatnam 👍
hello, if i decided to go there on november 17, 2023 will it still be raining there ?
Nov time is wet season for da nang yes. Better to wait until March time if you like it warmer and drier.

What kinda work do you do?
Training-i work with a lot of local people for different skills, mostly in the medical area.
@@expatnam I’m am RN in the US, looking to see what kind of medical opportunities there are in VN. Do you work with nurses?
I do yes. You may be be able to find work in one of the private hospitals but probably not a public one. There are some foreign Drs here but they're few and far between.
what do you think of Hoi An? Im there now, i like it better than Da Nang.
I like it a lot and hope to do some videos there in the future. I think it would also be a good place to live and may even decide to move there as it's pretty close to DN
Yeah, why?😂
Oh getting old, dude.😢

I do have some help but i can do most by myself with translate etc. I needed some help with the shipping side of things, but everything else was ok.
