Good vids thanks Dean keep it up. It should be noted on the E61 at least that if your rear sunroof drains clog up water often drips in and fills up those little tubs. I have mine hanging up in the void behind the soft wall panel next to the tub. Just went through the process of removing the anti-gurgle valves and clearing the drains on an E61 I picked up (panoramic sunroof).
yes mate im completely aware of that aswell and I would of said about that if this one had panaroamic roof there is a very easy fix for them to stop the water completely getting in when I get one I will do a video of it
I wish I knew this sooner man! I'm buying a second e60 for cheap because my I drive and clocks are gone. PDC is gone too. Fingers crossed now when I replace and relocate she'll work again
Mate you said BMW's have a problem with water getting in the boot area, and causing problems with the electrics, I asked was that the case on a 7 series. Thanks.
G’day Doc I’ve recently bought a 2008 E60 and I’ve discovered yesterday that there’s water in the boot and that module that you’re holding at 4:23 in your video, definitely has water in it. I’m not mechanically minded at all, but I’ve removed all water from the boot, and I’m wondering if it’s safe for me to unplug those three plugs in that module, and possibly use a fan or an air compressor to blast any excess water out. I’m worried that it’s possibly already fried, is there any chance of saving it and completely drying it out at all please mate?
Also Doc there was another unit sitting in water, from what I can tell, from another of your videos, it looks like it’s possibly the Bluetooth unit. My setup is different from the wiring setup up in your above video, there’s only the two modules or units under the spare wheel, which I’ll definitely relocate, I’m on a disability pension, so money is extremely tight. Hoping I can save both modules somehow. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
Hi Done some work on a 2014 plate BMW 730, Owner says that water in the boot is my fault, blown fuse, suspension module filled with water. do 7 series suffer water in boot problems as well as the 5 series. thanks.
Mate you do work on customers cars and then rely on RUclips for help mate ?????? You can’t be doing that If you don’t know BMW don’t take a car if you don’t know about it I’m not there to help people make a business mate Tell the guy to come to me I will help him
I do recognize that tool. I too have one. I got the idea to buy one after I saw Nathan easily removing trans pan bolts with it. I aldo bought the big massive Makita 1/2" impact. Money well spent
@@BMWDoctor nice. I didn't even have to pay for my big impact. I bought the little Makita kit myself, and sometime later the wife blew hew head gasket. I planned on buying the big Makita myself one day when I needed it, but being the opportunist I am, I told her I'd replace it for her instead pf her paying a mechanic if she bought me the big Makita. She actually agreed. Have you tried it yet? You can take the lugs, crank pulley bolts, etc. off with the quickness. I love it. Yes, I charge my wife tools and/or extra good for car work.
No ain’t tried it yet mate I was actually sent the whole kit with all impact sockets aswell they sent me the newer version which ends in 002 for the big impact I didn’t actually pay for any of them lol
@@BMWDoctor you won't be disappointed. That thing is a godsend, a beast of a tool. It makes doing suspension work easy. Not fun, (because it's never fun) but so easy I actually don't mind doing it.
Oh no mate I won’t be doing suspension work never that for me mate I don’t like working on the floor the I will go garage they don’t charge much here for suspension work engine stuff is all me as I need engine reliable as I do to much mileage but suspension garage can do that as it ain’t a big or expensive job here they only charge to change springs about £70 for both sides easy mate
Does this module affect the thermostat ? I replaced water pump and thermostat. Water pump works fine but thermostat still seems not to open I check for voltage coming from the wore you connect to thermostat and there is no circuit even when car is on
Hello I have a bmw e61 54 plate would you know by any chance why my central locking doesn’t work I think I am missing some modules in the boot would that be the cause ? It works fine with key even the rear tailgate window opens hope you can help thanks
BMW Doctor I willl definitely check the modules as it’s all placed in the side like you did where you took them from the spare wheel area thanks man 👍🏻
Hello I have checked the modules and there all there mate I think to the side the loose connectors are for Bluetooth I think as my Bluetooth doesn’t work and it’s missing the phone in the arm rest
If your car is before 2006 your modules will all be in the boot any year after 2006 modules are all relocated already all you will have in there is parking sensor module also known as the (PDC)
I got the e60 and cant find any wiring for the modules or the modules in the boot. This has started as the blue tooth dont work. Also got battery drain. But have no faults
Had to do something similar the other day, took ages for me to remove the spacesaver liner. Had to undo both of the bolt on either side to give me enough wriggle room
Does anyone have a good guide for clearing the blocked drains from the sunroof ? I’ve relocated the modules. However, still getting rain into the battery area.
can you please make a video showing us how to change the radio frequencies. like from japan 70's to europe or oceania 90's. pleeeeeese. thanks oh for e61 thank you

i think the thermostat is just preheated. it still opens with a wax like traditional thermostats.
Good info as usual .Love the pop up fasteners . Valve seals that sucks. 👍
