As someone who was taught how to crochet before knitting and also someone who thought the same as you about knitting being a total mystery, and for me very intimidating, I can say don't give up! Keep trying. Put it away and then come back to again and keep doing that. One thing people kept telling me was that if I could crochet then I could knit because knitting is SO much easier than crocheting. All I could think was "Ya, right"! But now I can knit socks by hand using sets of double pointed needles and I've even made gloves! I ended up getting a book that teaches children how to knit and that made learning a lot easier as well. Good luck and happy stitching!!
I am a little behind the times, but I really enjoy these videos. I am new to this I quilt normally but I’ve never done landscape quilting or anything like this and I’m so excited to try this new step out and see if I can add these to purses or just make it large quilt with all these techniques thank you so much, I’m from Arizona so our winters were pretty cold, but we’re kind of high up on the mountains
You are so welcome! Mountainous landscapes are my favourite. You must have a wealth of source material nearby. Mixed media is a lot of fun. I hope you give it a try. Thanks for watching. 🤗
Wow. This was a great video. I very much enjoyed seeing the added components evolve as you stitched. The tree is perhaps my favorite part so far, but I also really like how you've incorporated the printed fabric owl into the piece.
Well, when I watched the first video of this piece I never imagined you would be able to create such a gorgeous scene. I am very impressed. Thank you so much for sharing
That's really kind of you. Thank you. I love textile art for this very reason - taking simple resources and building them into something meaningful with simple processes. It makes me very happy. I'm glad you like it. Have you seen the finished piece in part 4?
It is lovely, I am amazed at how much difference it made to the owl by changing the tone of thread you used. This tree like all your other trees is super. You have captured the cold eerie evening in this piece of art.
Sticking fabric to a full sheet of sticker-paper works really well too. Just pull the backing off and carefully place your fabric on the sticky part. Colors are dulled by the fabric, so maybe brighten it more than you would want? [inkjet printer]
Hi there. Thanks so much for watching. The fabric is just a piece of an old bed sheet. I used a temporary spray adhesive for quilting, to attach the fabric to a piece of card. You just have to make sure that all of the edges are secure so that your fabric doesn't get tangled in your printer. As long as it's totally smooth, you should have no problems. Hope that helps. 🤗

What a great lesson. I am in the Southern Hemisphere in sub tropical climate, is lovely to see the contrast to my country. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much. I'm loving seeing landscapes from almost around the world. It gets so bleak here, I forget the sun is still around elsewhere! 😂
looks beautifulllly COOLD!!
Thank you. It was such a miserable winter here, but there was beauty there too.
All of the elements are so beautiful!
Love the way the chiffon ribbon gives a watery shimmer!
Thanks so much. Glad you like it. 🤗
Love it! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it. I had fun this week.

@amandahammond4601 thanks so much. I love the tree too. I love mixing techniques, but couching has a special place in my heart.
Just stumbled across your videos. It’s my new favourite thing to watch. You are so gifted Thankyou for sharing.
