- The Air Jordan 1, a cultural phenomenon instantly recognizable by its iconic colorways like “The Chicago,” “The Bred,” and “The Royal,” wasn’t just a sneaker; it was a revolution. Debuting in 1985, the brainchild of designer Peter Moore, the Air Jordan 1 marked a pivotal moment in sneaker history. The fact that they had to put the reimagined on the thumbnail says a lot
all kinds of meesed up info in this video tbh. They talked about it being big in jp but didnt show even one pic of fujiwara wearing them - the very dude who first brought them to the country. Plus the first retro wave being mistaken once again as 94 instead of 95 etc
This video is wrong in so many ways… it’s very irritating as a huge AJ1 fan for the past 20 years…
-The 1994 retro, the first retro of the AJ1 High, has a very unique shape, that has not been replicated.
-The shape and design of the AJ1 High has changed several times, from the “remastered” series starting with the 30th anniversary in 2015 to the newest shape, or “remastered” 2.0, to name a couple.
-The ‘85 reissues that Nike has done so far ARE NOT a “stitch for stitch” remake of the OG 85 shape. That shape still hasn’t been redone to the way it was. The toebox in the OG release says it all. Also, the metallic burgundy release isn’t even the first one, that all began at the all star game in 2020 in Chicago.
-Travis didn’t “lend” his backwards swoosh to the first Travis Scott AJ1.. that’s the first silhouette that he started doing that with.
-You talked about the Japanese streetwear culture Urahara in relation to the Jordan 1, without mentioning Hiroshi Fujiwara, which is crazy to me.
-You also didn’t mention any of the major celebrities helping to popularize the Jordan 1 from 2015-2016 onwards, culminating with the pandemic for the all time hyped-era of the AJ1.
😮 real sneaker head huh
@@hymenbreaker6100kind of 😅
🔥 kicks
I bought the burgundy’s in eu for 120 bucks. They look great, but the inner lining on left foot hurts and the leather is harrrd. I tried to break them in - but they don’t - and they are the most unconfi shoes in my collection - whereas the 85 lows are a dream and so fine to wear !
The hype is gone now and people who actually loved these shoes can get them.
A bit late with the „hype“ … but still great episode
ikr? Especially now that some colorways go on sale after the first week
i heard
the sneaker resale
market crashed
Yup
This video is WRONG. Do some proper research before uploading lies
Imagine making a whole video about the jordan 1 and especially about the hype behind it and putting up pictures of mids while completely ignoring kanye, asap rocky, asap bari and ian connor - the guys who actually contributed the most to the dumb hype this sneaker reached at its peak
