I want a gold chain and curious what percentage should I add to the actual market price of gold for the cost of things such as:labor, production, manufacturing, etc? 2. Since the scratch test is best used to determine the karat of gold, how come nobody is plating let’s say 10k gold with 22k plating? Or is this happening?
Eddie Kim Anything less than 9999 Gold purity is shit. Invest in only 24k gold jewelry...10k, 14k, 18k is worthless if you attempt to sell it later....check out my vid showing one of my solid 24k chains!

The work value is done by diggers and trucks with metal detectors. Some go under water with luck to find cave walls with partial shine. All this so currency can have value over the land.

no
It depends how you sell it. Some places will try to pay you spot price for the gold value of of the jewelry but remember quality jewelry has an added value in the craftsmanship of the piece. You may do better on a private sale/ebay etc. When buying gold bullion, look to pay as close to spot price as possible, but there will always be a premium. Try to buy in larger increments to reducr premium costs. Remember buying 1/2 oz bar will be so much cheaper than 15 individual gram bars.
