I was lucky, I started playing with friends. Never played on Drizzle until I just wanted to see how far I could get
Finding the teleporter quicker than 20 minutes on the 2nd playthrough seems kinda in accurate to me. Mostly small unnoticeable things that werent the focus of the video though
Can confirm, spent a million years trying to figure out what newt altar does, before and after i got my first coin. Also, yeah artificer is pretty thicc

I know I'm late but pls also give Risk of Rain 1 a chance. It has a lot of similiar mechanics but the playstyle is really different and also quite enjoyable! Plus imo the music is much better in the first game :)

Still proud of my first ever run. My knowledge of the game was limited to "Get items to survive. Get to the teleporter. Make it quick, or you'll die."
Back then there was no Mithrix or Commencement stage.
Got to... I dunno what stage number, but I did loop once because that was going to be the second time I saw that snowy area.
At this point, I took far too long to get to where I was. I was I think a little over one hour into the run.
The last boss almost kicked my sorry ass up into the sky from where I came from.
THIS boss was surely going to finish that idea, so I just decided to... stick around. I knew I was going to die, so I would at least try to hold out as long as possible.
Died at around 1 hour 20 minutes, I believe. Absolutely swarmed by bullet sponges and elite types.
...It was a good run.
"Oh boy, new character! Is the huntress! Imma try!" and then I immediately fucking die because a golem decided that I should be a pancake. First stage, 3 minutes in.
I love this game.
So basically my first day In Risk Of Rain 2 is also my first day playing video games and I don't have enough awareness to notice the item description for the first couple of times.

tip: the more you play monsoon the more you get use to it and it starts to just feel normal
And I played monsoon for my first time thinking it was relatively tame after a “few” attempts

100% accurate. I actually started by playing with the "sacrifice" artifact with some buddies so I actually bypassed spending my hard earned cash and just mowed enemies down for my items. Still had no idea what most of them did though. Playing with the "Command" artifact is fun too, if you're looking for a more laid back experience where you simulate spraying an ant colony with raid. That is, if you understand what anything does. Overall I love this game and can't wait for DLC! Well worth your IRL hard earned cash (or that sweet sweet Steam gift card your mommy bought you for Xmas)
This fully sums up the experience of a beginner. Especially loving the missiles. I loved those, then I found the Sawmerang and saw how it obliterates anything it touches if you get the bazooka. It is easily the best damage ability I’ve found

Imagine that you were new in that game and you had so much heal items and then you find the blue bug that turn all your health into shield
The first few hours of Risk of Rain 2 can be simplify in "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS THING AND WHY HES KILLING ME?!"

Quite accurate, except you keep getting terrible items at the start and after getting swarmed by Beetle Queens and guards on the first teleporter, you switch to Huntress and beat Mithrix on your second run.
I don't own the game and i know 9 Lensmaker Glasses, Predatory Instincts, Harvester's scythe and Laser Scope is one hell of a combination

If i'm comenting in a video in a language i don't really know how to write and that had been updated a year ago. May as well buy the fucking game, and no, i don't fucking care that my desktop barely got 4g of ram, 2.16GHz, windows 8.1 pro and gets more hot than an aisoleted volcano if i play any game for more than 50 minutes without having the ac in the lowest temperature pointing directly to it.
if i had one wish, it would be to discover risk of rain 2 for the first time again.
Man, my first run on this game was just me exploring until I found the teleporter, but I wanted to stay until a boss spawned. So I naturally waited 40 minutes before getting bored of waiting and finally activated the teleporter... only to realize that that was how to get the boss to spawn.
I literally beat Mithrix in my first five hours of the game and my point is that HUNTRESS IS BROKEN
I remember when I first started playing risk of rain it took me forever to get past stage two or three because I spend wayyyyyyyyyy too much time looting.
I still have that same habit, I've just gotten a lot faster at it.
