Itsuno is spot on about action RPGs lacking in action. Especially compared to how weak combat was 10 years ago, but even today the words ring true. Elden Ring is a game where they model these giant bosses and all you do is smack their feet. The world needs a Dragon's Domga 2 now more than ever.
Lol smack their feet and die about +100 times Eden ring was ok but still lacking in controls i mean after years they finally aded jump button i mean god forbid they made their games easy right,in dragons dogma you are weighted for what you carry completely and not just what you wear in any dark souls its almost impossible to use good armor without the sacrifice of rings or level up status just to wear seeeeesh talk about let down.
I don't know if that's supposed to be a slight at Elden Ring but I'm just gonna say that Elden Ring has among THE best and most entertaining bosses I've fought against in ANY video game. Don't even get me started on the god send that is Radah. And besides the amount of coding needed would be absurd and that degree of interactability is NOT there concern.

You don't need to account for every small detail especially considering everything else it does right. I've never been more engaged in boss fights. Sure, more could be added and I have complaints. But to call it a "let down" is downright disrespectful. It is beautiful, engaging, and has among THE best control scheme and controls in the entire soulsborne series. And in regards to "smacking their feet" there is only so much you can do especially given a game of that scale. I'm sorry and I absolutely love Grigori to death. Fighting him years ago was a fond and amazing memory. But Radahn is easily my favorite boss fight to date. The game play and lore is just spectacular and the spectacle is just... amazing. The transition to his second phase being so memorable I am STILL giddy about it. So, you're allowed your opinions. But do not call it a let down.

The announcement was like a dream come true but this was such an interesting mini documentary by itself. I would have loved to hear even more about the team's inspirations for their design ideas! Creativity and where ideas come from are really fascinating concepts.
I came hoping for an announcement of part 2, but the developers talking about their passion for this game was very wholesome. The first game always held a special place in my heart, after all those years

A Dragon's Dogma II could be a real bomb, there is no other AAA medieval RPG since a long time and TES6 isn't planned before 2025 so... Let's just hope we will have a finished game this time.
It kinda' depends on how early they actually are in development. CDPR is doing another Witcher game and there's a new Dragon Age coming as well (though I think people have lowered their expectations for that due to ME:A)
Dragon's Dogma doesn't even compete with TES or The Witcher, it's more of an aRPG with bigger focus on combat than story and world building (and I want them to keep it that way)

They were originally planning for a Q42022/Q12023 release, but that was pushed back after the disaster with CP2077 to Q42023/early 2024. Obviously take that with a grain of salt, as these leaks were all from 2021, and might have been bullshit then as well. For what it's worth, though, they did predict that Itsuno wanted to announce the game on its 10th anniversary. I think a reasonably well-informed person could have guessed that, given he talked about wanting to make a sequel to DD around DMC5's launch, and a thing's 10th anniversary is always a good time to announce things about it, but it does lend a little bit of credibility. (There's a post up right now on the subreddit which collected the three 'major' leak posts; I'd link to it but the RUclips automod has been deleting any post I try to make with a link in it lately. It should be relatively easy to find.)

YES! FINALLY! Been waiting all 10 years for this! I bought the first game like 5 times. The original on Xbox 360, the Dark Arisen expansion on PS3, the PC port, the Enhanced version on PS4 and finally the Switch version. So you can tell I love the game and how hyped I am for the sequel. ^_^;

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is such a high standard that even a sequel of that very franchise is difficult to surpass. Honestly, I think i would prefer the release of the game with its original planned content restored.. which is about 60%. To say it's the best RPG of all time is an understatement.
Agreed. DDA with 60% more content? Yes please. I wouldn't even care if there was a graphics/fidelity upgrade, considering all the patches since launch that have cleaned it up rather nicely. And, ya know, the modding community.
I personally think there is definitly some things to improve for the game. No matter how much I love the game it´s not perfect and calling it the best RPG of all time sounds like an OVERstatement to me doesn´t matter if its one of my favorites game. But thats exactly the reason I wish for a sequel where they improve the flaws and keep all the strengths of the old game.
@@faloel Flawed, yes. Undeniably. But still unreachable by other games. I have played a lot of games and a lot of RPGs. Now, I'm obviously not gonna sell my opinion as fact but I do think my opinion holds some grounds when I have played FONV, FO2, ES Morrowind, Pillars of Eternity and other great RPGs. And DDDA wasn't only good for the combat, it was great on every front. Almost anything that's in the game has been perfected as a feature. And when you want to check if a game is well made, you have to take a look at the details. Yes, I would change things too. For one, I would remove any wolf-like enemy from the game. Garms are pieces of shit, so they can stay :p Or I would like to have the option in the CC to completely mute my character. Not to be greedy, of course. The Dogma character creation is possibly the best I've seen in a game.. and j have played games like FO4 which are great in that regard. Also, not to suggest that I don't like the combat shouts of the MC. No, they are the best out there. But I still would like to be one of those cringey silent types of MCs. So there are definitely things to improve on but they are mostly neat picks.
@@DeathKhan I honestly don't care for graphics. DD is proof that if the atmosphere is done right, the immersion in the game world is unavoidable. Of course, DD has great animation too so it helps a lot. A GTA SA with good graphics still feels a bit junky due to the outdated animation. I mean, if they were to have the extra budget for graphics.. then they wouldn't hurt. But only if the graphics aren't the priority and don't get in the way.
DD is an amazing game, and one of the best for sure, but THE BEST is an overstatement. Maybe to you, but there are definitely other games with a higher bar to meet.

After I played Dark Souls II, I was looking for similar games and someone suggested DD. I apparently had the original on PS3 thanks to PS+, but bought Dark Arisen and it became my most played game since childhood (still is #2 after Genshin Impact) and among my favorite games ever, probably top 5. It still has my favorite NG+ (mainly because the end twist is among the best moments in gaming) and the worldwide Dragon is the most memorable boss I've ever fought and among my favorite things in console game history and I'm so happy I got to play it when the playerbase was still active (I really hope something similar is brought back in DDII)
NICE~! i love the pawn system, despite the silliness, pawns do actually teaches me from time to time, there were really big "OOOOH!!!" moment when pawns shows me how things should be done. the smooth melee fight and flashy magic attack are still the best~ looking forward for it!!!

i love the pawn system, despite the silliness, pawns do actually teaches me from time to time, there were really big "OOOOH!!!" moment when pawns shows me how things should be done.
the smooth melee fight and flashy magic attack are still the best~
