When it is watery like that and so thin it is not cod but Basa fillet made to look like a cod tail end . usually they double the thickness but cod is flakes not washed out white fish.
You need bits on the chips. Also try get haddock for the fish much nicer but you get haddock more up North. Come to Yorkshire. Brown sauce or spicy curry Irish curry sauce and a buttered teacake nice cup of tea you will love it
A lot of fast food restaurants will buy frozen Asian catfish, and try to pass it off as as Cod or Haddock. If it says fish n chips, it only has to be fish. If you order Cod n chips, it has to be Cod.
Cod is for southerners anyway. And they can be served anything as they got zero clue about fish and chips. Needs to be haddock. And not in a place that shout out bingo numbers.
As soon as I saw the food served at a TABLE in plastic containers, plastic knife and fork, plastic tea cups can of coke still in its can ,salt in a huge shaker,I knew the fish was not real. And that server screaming orders out WHAT POSSESSED YOU TO EAT IN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE?.
Pollock, loads of Chippies try to pass it off as Cod.
If advertised as cod it has to be by law ,if its coley or other cheaper fish they could face prosecution or heavy fines.
100% North Sea Pollock. I can tell by looking at it and I'm a cat....It's not a bad fish but that's not Cod
She was gonna use the can as salt 💀
yea...I noticed that

Thanks for that.
Pollock not cod
Chippers sell whitefish as cod......cod is too expensive and rare
So it should be advertised as such
Absolutely no justification for lying to paying customers
I dont think its a Cod....the flakes were too small, chips were good though.
It might be that Basa fish.
Basa is not nice!
@@PUNKinDRUBLIC72 and basa fish has a high mercury content and it's farmed not a wild fish ..not good

Pollock all day long
Rip off, lots of chippies craftily serving basa in place of cod!naughty!
People in Australia have woken up to Basa, it’s not suitable for human consumption. Even the cat won’t touch it.
@@Aussie3225 Basa, looks like fish, tastes like wet cardboard from a pond, never again.
@@fins59 even my dog won’t eat it.
Well played
Dog fish . Used to be called Rock Salmon . Ask Muttley . Fazzle , razzle , fish & chips !
This is Trinidad & Tobago catfish, highly likely! same texture and just like that
If it states cod on the menu then consult trading standards if it states fish it can be anything
Probably Rockfish 😮
