If you saw them live in the 1990s , they fucking destroyed everything you thought about live music they were just a force of nature. i feel like something happened @ the ACME album which neutered them somewhat. Maybe it was Dan Automator's production ... but it lost the absurd energy levels and they stopped being the phenomenon they had been
Pussy Galore sort of toughened us up. JSBX then put those high octane drums into world wide tours, and they kind of perfected no wave groove psych rock. No prisoners taken at all. No ballads.

If I remember correctly, Jon dropped out of Brown and Pussy Galore moved from Washington to NYC, where he met Russell and Judah. Truly the greatest live act I've seen to date - number one indeed! I'm glad I watched this, was able to snag the last copy of Acme based on your suggestion. I was aware of Now I Got Worry and Orange but Acme totally fell under my radar. Definitely check out their bandcamp page if you haven't already.
Jon Spencer and some other cats got a new one out called sick of being sick and it's killer, kinda sounds like now I got worry but got it's own, aw hell it's hard to describe but it rocks and the wife hates it and that's a good thing lmfao 😂😆 I love it
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion is the puke tube through which the most acidic blues sewage flows. Scraped from the underside of Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon and all the greats, they present an almost musical sonic sludge which is best enjoyed with your head in a vise and your foot to the floor.

Best live band ever. I never got to see Zeppelin, but I saw The Blues Explosion four times and each time was amazing. So sad they are done.
