    I had the great good fortune to see Sylvie perform this in Birmingham some years ago. It was mesmerising. I’m not sure that ‘graceful’ is a word that I would use, but certainly ‘powerful’ and so incredibly sensuous that I resented my need to blink and thus miss even a split-second of the dance.

      The most exquisite ballerina. Lots of women are beautiful, but they cannot do what sylvie can do with her body and emotion to engage the audience. Ballet is hard work and pain everyday but we do it because we love to dance and to give our very best to you the audience. 5:37

    This is what happens when a gorgeous coreographer is interpreted by a "fantabulous" dancer. MAGIC!!!

      I saw her in this choregraphy at théâtre des Champs-Elysées en Paris, years ago. Tears came during this movement.

    Imagine the mentality of someone who gives this a thumbs down. No, of course we don't all have to like everything. But it's on a par with someone giving you an oatmeal cookie. It may not be to your taste but does that mean you throw it in their face and storm off saying you wanted chocolate chip? What a world.

    Prima ballerina absoluta !
    Le titre de « prima ballerina assoluta était originellement inspiré par les maîtres du ballet italien du début du Romantisme, et désignait une ballerine considérée comme douée de talents exceptionnels, comme étant au-dessus du niveau des autres principales ballerines.

    The performance is fantastic. However, some details are missing about the technical direction and the chosen music.

    Lovely dancer and dancing, but I'm cutting out - too dark for the camera distance.

    The very high contrast lighting is an indespensible part of this - does the choreographer also design the lighting?

    Je trouve qu’il n’y pas d’âme dans cette chorégraphie . Une technique irréprochable mais alors autrement rien. On voit qu’un exercice de bras maigres et musclés très technique.

    • @prosperoshakes1353
      @prosperoshakes1353 4 года назад +6

      Une chorégraphie ne nécessite pas d'"âme". Elle a son existence propre hors du spectateur et de ses besoins d'"âme". Ce qui rend cette chorégraphie remarquable, c'est que la danse est d'abord, de manière concrète, une énergie qui circule dans un territoire qui est, en l'occurrence, un corps humain. Et Maliphant arrive de manière exceptionnelle, rendre cette énergie visible. Le reste, ce n'est que l'interprétation du spectateur, positive ou négative.
