I wasn't too sure about trying Lorcana out, but I've decided to give it a go thanks to this video. I've been playing MTG with my older daughter and wanted something similar for my youngest. Lorcana has the flavor she'll enjoy and easy mechanics that won't bog her down. I like the idea of "questing" to win. Something I know my younger daughter will enjoy.
Question 16:59 : you played Cinderella and talked about her ability to sing to play song actions. If you played her (her ink is still wet) would you be allowed to use her ability right away to cast a song action or does she only get that ability after she dries? (at the beginning of your next turn)
Boy I'm jealous. Thought I'd be the first person in the State of Tennessee to play with real cards :P Seriously though, I'm excited to see it launch at my LGS (as the Owner) on August 18th.
This is *very* heavily influenced by MtG, which is a double-edged sword: there's a reason MtG has succeeded so long, but also, it might mean Lorcana feels overly familiar and boring pretty quickly. Hopefully those differences (VP, only attacking tapped creatures, using any card as mana, etc.) keep it fresh. And what he said about singing the Songs... I, uh.... definitely *did not* sing "I Won't Say I'm In Love" when Meg was shown, and you can't prove I did! 😅
@@TorIverWilhelmsen No, but there are specific influences, though. Like how Rush = Haste, Exert = Tap, Evasion = Flying, "singing a song" = Convoke, etc.
@@LightPink No, evasion works as long as the character has that ability. It's just Pascal specifically that has the "only if there's another character" condition.
It feels like MTG and pokemon had a baby, where you still have the MTG resource system, but simpler turns and no instant speed interaction like pokemon. My girlfriend is a huge Disney nerd so we will probably try it out.
I mean could they have TRIED to make it not look like an obvious mtg clone? Honestly I’m happy it’s mtg light because I’m going to use it to teach my daughters how to play magic. But, damn, even the color pie is a damn carbon copy? And some other co is suing lorcana for..😂😂stealing mechanics 😂😂
Will Lorcana be your next TCG? Let us know in the comments!

Ryan Miller seems like a fun dude. Very well. I'll buy your game.

I'm actually looking forward to this game!

Yes, lots of differences, the core to any CCG are there of course but it's like saying any deckbuilder is "heavily influenced by Dominion".

@@IceMetalPunk evasion only works when there's another character on your board and you can only singing is very different to convoke

Reminds me a lot of VS systems play cards facedown as resources and exhausting your cards.
"Draw" has multiple meanings. Cute.
Who Shuffles like that my god
Looks so fun
Wouldn't mickey have dead on the second attack?
Don't worry about waiting for ink to dry. Just call it "Soggy" when it gets played :)
We call it exerting……. Because the term tapping is trademarked 😂
Amonkhet should have trademarked exert as well
Need to know if they have alt arts or holo rarities!
They have holo. They need something in the future for you to be happy about so no alt art
Sadly, it's impossible to get ahold of!
Why are they shuffling like that? 😭
Probably because the cards are only worth cents
just proxy Disney material for MtG

"brand new card game that everyone is going to be talking about for the rest of the year."
I don't think so, not even 6 months.
