is fun to see how the game evolved over 9 months. SET 1 best pairings ended up as Ruby-Amethyst and Amber-Steelsong. SET 2 Best was Ruby-Amethyst being virtually tier 0 with the Merlin-Madam Mim draw bounce package combined with Set 1 ruby removal . SET 3 was the most wide open meta yet, Emerald-Amethyst, Amethyst-Steel, Ruby-Amethyst, Emerald Steel, Ruby Sapphire, Amber-steelsong, with even surprising results from Amber-Amethyst Mufasa, even rogue stuff like EM-Ruby won a championship event. Set 4 the current best decks pairing are : Emerald-Steel using bucky, Blue-Steel, Ruby-Amethyst and Ruby-Sapphire being the best so far.
Another feature of the Emerald/Steel deck is denying your opponent from doing anything that they want. Mother Gothel and Gantu are the two main characters that support this, preventing quests and challenges.
I have a amber amethyst hades villain deck that has done good for me. Purely choose amethyst because statistically it has the most villain cards in the game but I'm definitely now going to see how an amber emerald villain deck works
Either amberthest or amypphire I really like the control I imagine feeling being able to find the cards I want due to my draw power. I really like ward too so I lean more toward sapphire and Amythest.
I don't know why Amethyst is the ink with the most characters in the first set, you would think that should be Amber. I think Amethyst is the acting ink, it wants characters that do things. That is why they have big strength when they challenge but not when they are challenged.
I really like 90s Disney characters.. is there a good color combo that supports that from a flavor perspective? Also, can you make a deck that is just a single color?
You can absolutely make a single color deck. As for 90s characters, your best bet might be Emerald/Ruby, which has lots of characters from Aladdin, and some from Beauty and the Beast and Hercules.

Great explanation! Best I’ve found so far!

So simplified for new players. Thank you so much!

Had to cycle through a bunch of garbage videos to get here. Great explanation.
Great breakdown! I think you covered everything spot on

Hi! Awesome guide. Can you add 5:29 “Focus: Damage” to your bookmarks for the video? Steel is missing right now
Thank you!

Also we should definitely come up with color combo names
There was the thought of calling them, for example, "Quartz" for Amber/Amethyst. Don't know if that'll take off though
