    this tutorials are what I've been searching for years. Only talks when it is needed, to only explain important things, all the rest of the time he is playing, jamming over drum loop. This is fantastic. You see every teacher on the internet telling you "you got to learn that scale that arpeg that triad" but they don't show you what to do with it, its only surface learning, here we go in depth ! thx for that

    I find it very helpful to be reminded that it takes many hours of repetitive practice to internalize the music. And you remind us with infectious joy. Keep it up!

    Been taking Jim's lessons for about a year and have improved a ton. This man is a master musician/teacher. Putting the time in is where it is at. I won't sit and watch TV without my acoustic or unplugged electric bass.

    Best teacher on YT, thank you Jim, I practicing over and over and at least christmas jam in our town i really fired up that motown licks. LY, I pray you make tousand more videos.

    Do it. Do it again. Do it some more. Then do it again for about an hour. Get a cup of coffee. Then do it again for the rest of the day.....its the only way!

    Q: Are you playing AVRI Fender p bass? If so, what year? Also, would you know what year were the AVRI Fender P bass first made?

      No. This is "real" 1959 P bass.

      @@shooz4unme to inhibit the buzz caused by electric lights. In the old days most lights in clubs made the pickups hum terribly. Same reason for the metal pickguard.

      Two different animals. The bass in this video is a original1959 - $10k-15k. The player series is a $600 bass,

    To master anything it’s constant repetition.Try 10,000 hours. Jim was right
