- Part one of two clips from a home video shot in and around Port Antonio. There are everyday scenes from the Court House Square, Musgrave Market and Folly Road with views of the Harbour and the trip up Somers Town, Wain Road, West Retreat leading to Fellowship and The Rio Grande river famous for the rafting and the picturesque views as well as the sea food. There is even a shot of a contortionist on the street in part one! Enjoy...
I watch this on days like today when I'm really missing home. Can't wait to finish school and go back to my country....literally Country!

I lived near Port Toni for a little while... Words cant describe how i was treated in Portland Parrish...If you wanna experience Jamaica coming from America then this is where you go.....The day i left to come back to America in 2001 i cried for a whole day straight....I will come back some day.....

Thanks for sharing....couldn't help but notice, there are so many FINE looking brothers! ...if only I can go back a few years :)
The people of Portland and the whole of Jamaica are full of good vibes and know how to have a good time. They welcome tourists and enjoy people taking an interest in the culture. The food is great and most amenities are cheap with the current exchange rate and the value of the Jamaican dollar. There are many things to do and see with something for every one.
I miss this place..Loads a love
Porty is a nice place, I would like to go back. I'm not from Jamaica but I used to visit Kingston quite a bit... Porty is mellow.

whose singing at the start of the video? Love it.
When was the video taken...it brings back mad memories
The singer is a man from the local community giving us a taste of the so-called Gospel vibes. His identity is unknown.
are the mountain lands cheap in Portland?
Both this and part 2 were shot in July 03. Some things have changed but most things remain the same so they may seem familiar.

@d33z3d Glad you liked the place but, " Too many Chinese guys"? That's not irie. The Chinese, Indian, Syrian, White and African are all part of Jamaican culture & heritage now. We have many Phillipinos, Spanish, Italian and other nations living here full time now. The World is changing for the better...
