Collection of strombolian eruptions at Batu Tara volcano (Flores Sea, Indonesia)

Collection of eruptions in daytime and in the evening during an expedition in July 2015. The second eruption is particularly violent, showing a gradual build-up with increasing degassing and rockfalls as a result of inflation of the crater. Immediately before the explosion, glow becomes visible as the magma is about to break through the crust sealing the vent.

I was born on batu Tara before it was a volcano.( Which is only recently.)imy town was batu Tara ick. Where we raised domesticated giant snails for export.
