- Gunung Ibu volcano, Halmahera, Indonesia. Volcanic activity at nighttime, filmed for the first time from the crater rim summit in real time !
No timelapse or else, also only real sound !
This allowed free view onto the flat topped dome.
Strombolian eruptions with intermittent ash erupions generating abundant volcanic lightning.
Filmed in the nights beetween 8. to 10. March 2020. Наука
Martin, you are setting a new standard in volcano filmography. It doesn't get any more exciting than this. Thank you for letting us see the planet through your eyes. Stay safe out there.
👏👏👏👏👍👍
Excellent footage, one of the absolute best I've ever seen. Thanks for not adding voice or music! The mighty roar from the volcano is all you need.
Stig Nyman totaly agree!👍
Agreed!
Well mannered too, I could watch it for hours
@@bandit6048 I agree... too bad that there are to few of these volcanic eruptions, I'm just waiting for the next Martin video!
Me too would like to hear the real explosion voice😍
Thank you for visiting Bali Indonesia.
Little information, did you know that in Bali there are 26 volcanoes. Not only that, they even have different historical characteristics this is real because many foreign tourists don't know about this volcanoes in Bali. Most of them know that in Bali there are only 2 or 4 volcanoes which actually have 26 volcanoes in Bali.

Volcanoes in Indonesia are included in the biological mother of Indonesia. If the total number of volcanoes in Indonesia is more than 570 - 600 with different characteristics (on land + in the underwater sea). I hope you have a pleasant trip and have an extraordinary experience while in Indonesia because too many strange places.
Visit one of the volcanoes (Mother biological Indonesia) at least 1 or 2 times, because it is different in all conditions or routes and you can also see other volcanoes than the one you are currently climbing. As well as having different histories regarding of eruptions that have occurred. But be carefull and this real.
Other information : Even near Bali there is the island of Lombok which has 27 volcanoes. List of volcanoes in Lombok :

26). Mesjidborok = 1.272m
27). Muteran = 1.083m
So, imagine just Bali + Lombok = 2 island in Indonesia but have 53 Volcanoes.
Basically the territory of Indonesia is the volcano itself which forms a curved basin if one looks at it from the global maps. That is the real 100% biological mother of Indonesia = Volcanoes.
(One above all / Volcanism of Indonesia)
Good video and stay healthy.
The way it begins at 5:27, absolutely amazing. From such a little fire to a whole eruption.
Mount Ibu (ibu=mother in local language) 1325M above sea level. It is stratovolcane type and one of the most active volcane on East Indonesia (Halmahera island). As usual this is the superb video from Martin. Thanks for sharing and really appreciate your excellent work. Mount Ibu has potential danger to global environment. Don't know when the show will go on...
Yohans C. Sudiro, you mean it might cause the much prayed for “ global cooling”?
Actually ibu isn't means mother, ibu was from the word "ibo" which is a tribe in Halmahera island which gradually changes the pronunciation to ibu
Weird how it sounds like a gentle rainfall at times. Just lava rocks. The different types of exploding eruptions are amazing. Some seem to move from annoyed, irritated, angry, mad to final murderous blowout rage. Thanks Martin. Stay safe from ALL threats.
Yeah , sound like a rain
Absolutely stunning footage Martin ! Thanks again for sharing!

Fascinating!! Beautiful. We can't control them but still ,,,, I,ve always wanted to see one in person.
This is! The Most Mesmerizing Volcanic Eruption Video I have ever seen! and I have seen a lot!! Best Detail and the capture of so much of the dynamics that can occur in an eruption! Outstanding Camera work!
What direction (east, west...etc) were you shooting this and how far from the vent were you? Totally awesome video!
piss off,i dont work for free- martin
@@jquest43 no body cares about you.
Since we can see Mount Dukono in the background, he's facing towards the West. I'm guessing he is most likely on the East crater wall, so he's probably about 600 meters (more or less) from the active vent.
Seriously phenomenal footage as always. The sound of the lightning popping its so rare to hear. Amazing. It's my dream to film something like this one day.
The other volcano to the left is also angry. :)
Amazing footage as always.
Dukono at the left. Always makes a lot of smoke.
You spoiled us with 11 minutes of true nature beauty. Witnessing and presenting the show that most of us can't see it live. Thank you
Incredible volcano, and footage. I wouldn't want to be around when this Volcano decides to let go at full force. Thank you!
.. umm , it's letting go at pretty good force in this video .. but I agree with you , if the underground plumbing changed up , I would want to be far away
@Chris Perkins okay ! The lake of fire is real people repent!
Donde esta localizado este volcán?
So beautiful! You can see a volcano in the distance erupting too at the beginning of the video. Amazing!
Quite amazing in visual, acoustic and pixel quality. Voted.
Hard not to notice the distant volcano also huffing and puffing in competition.
If look very closely on in left background was erupting before on in foreground. To far away to see any thing but the ash cloud.
This footage is exceptional and mesmerizing. The video and audio quality is excellent. Thank you so much.
THANK YOU for putting this before my eyes and ears. The bunch of continuous little roars with the explosion of yellow, in the beginning is stupendous. And BABY KRAKATOA just blew. The world needs this !!!🤜🤛👍👏👏👏
🌋Frightening and awe-inspiring at the same time!
Mesmerising video!
Imagine the sight and the sound up close! Thanks🙏 for giving us a chance to experience this at a safe distance!
Stay safe!💟
Beautiful shots and the sound 10:00 sounds like a USMC F-15 taking off!
I love the sights WITH the sound!
I've always loved your work so any video I KNOW will be GREAT!!
Completely hypnotic. Thank you for posting this beautiful footage!
Impressive. Thanks for sharing 👋👋
Amazing footage! Thank you for filming this.
I am binge watching your videos. They are AMAZING! Thank you for these stunning videos!
Fantastis, amazing, wonderful, extra ordinary, without voice, everything natural. Good job Martin, thanks from Indonesia
Fantastic footage. Thank you for letting us hear nature. Stay safe!
These videos are beautiful.I doubt that I will ever witness such an eruption in person, so thank you for sharing these videos of a natural event that I would otherwise never see. Be well and be safe.
This may be the most well behaved volcano I have ever seen.
Still, I wouldn't want to be close to that thing!
Wait until it holds its fart
But our soil are so fertile because of this vulcano, look how small island like java can hold almost 150million people

Amazing ! I, truly enjoyed watching these ❤️🤗
Grandiose great to hear the real volcanic orchestra! Congratulations one of the very rare best!
Absolutely incredible.
Coronavirus: I shall wreak havoc
Gunung Ibu: Here, hold my beer
Sharon R the corona virus is going to 🏃 away so fast
At least this volcano is not "Made in China".
Bill MacQuarie
Oh, ho-ho!! Now that you’ve said (typed, actually) it, just wait 5 minutes; a brand-new barking-mad THE CHINESE ARE COMING FOR US!!!! conspiracy theory featuring volcanics the world over will debut as the tin-hat special du jour... 😂😎🏴☠️🏴☠️😉

Awesome how the rising gasses create so much friction that the cloud has lighting bolts.
Thank you so much for this. This is awesome' One of my favorite volcano videos ever! Siggts and sounds and it is like all volcanoes rolled into one. So crazy how the caldera gets so peaceful and uniform looking between eruptions and the all that lava with no flows. And it goes back to looking like an ash field with a little glowing dimple. And then all hell breaks loose again. Love it man!
OH MAN!! your videos just take my breathe away- really extraordinary - quite incredible - AMAZING - Thank you,Thank you
I can't get enough of watching these and you do a outstanding job. Just the pure power amazes me. So beautiful yet so deadly.
Stunning footage! It sounds like a jet engine!
At 1:22, it sounds like a steam engine.
Awe inspiring footage!!! It's amazing how much variety there is in each eruption. Hearing the volcano just reminds me that the planet is alive on a whole different scale. Btw catching Mt Dukono as well, I'm curious if there are any other volcanos which can be seen from that vista.
Beautiful!!! Mahalo! 🌏💚
Awesome footage. Water must play a huge part in volcanic activity like this one..
wooooooooow!!!! beauuuuuuuuuutiiiifulll !!!
I love volcanos because they are a necessary part of nature and enjoyed seeing the lighting being created. Well I love them as long as I don't have to live next to one.
Your comment gave me a chuckle. I'm Indonesian, I live on another island 2.500 km away from this particular volcanic mountain. Our own island also has active volcanic mountains, 19 of it with the closest one just shy of 20KM from where I live. I've been to some of our volcanic mountains even witnessed an eruption once. I went to Anak Karakatou sometime last year and just several months later it erupted lol. But what I hate the most here is the earthquakes. Be it vulcanic or tectonic it scares me every time. You'll never get used to it
Great, great videography, good audio and what a show. Your effort and skill make for some spectacular viewing. Venting gasses and lava, lightning and a small dust devil ( 9:37 ) on the right just for extra fun.
amazing how you seem to be at the right place at the right time to video these volcanic eruptions!
Martin Rietze makes the very best volcano vids you will ever see anywhere. Its really amazing what he does.
The sound is as Majestic as the eruption itself!
A jolly good footage which allows us to understand gas' dynamics!
Amazing!! Each eruption seemed to one-up the other in intensity.
Can not thank you enough for these videos. The sound must be so powerful from where you stood.? power to behold.
Oh, man, this video could have been an hour long and I'd still have watched the whole thing - multiple times!
This is how my stomach feels after Taco Bell! Amazing footage though!
This is badass, Thanks for the great footage and sound.
Best volcano footage ever.
Did any one notice that there's another volcano erupting on the left ? It's quite obvious at 5:34
K
vollxx4 Hmmmpf, it is Indonesia, they probably have five different volcanos erupting at any given time. Great for vulcanologists, not so hot for the residents. The featured eruption is kind of different. It does not seem to be erupting much in the way of new material, it just seems like the incandescent gasses are just reworking existing ash or tephra. The vent gets blocked and then clears, but without enough explosive force to really launch the large blocks and open a pit crater. It is so wonderful to have such advanced digital cameras that can record things that film could never capture, and then digitally shared around the globe in minutes or hours.
Yes - it is obvious from the beginning.
It was like eternal hell 👹
NO. 35,000 views and you're the only one who noticed this. Amazing!!
Very good material for geological study.Congratulations.👍🙋
Outstanding video. Interesting 🧐 angles of the local mountains and other volcanoes in the area!
The best volcano 🌋 video ever 👍👍
Awesome stuff Martin!
Wonderful view with another volcano in the distance steaming away. Really describes the geology of the area very well.
Wauw Martin, wish I was there wiht you!!! Realy best I have ever seen. Thank you for this film on Google👍👍👍
Great video Martin! What’s the volcano in the background that’s erupting as well? I heard from someone in the comments said it‘s Dukono.
Thanks for great video .Thank you again for not adding music.real volcano eruptions sounds preferred.till then keep smiling with lol Healthy and safely
Wow, it like a mad hissing big cat ready to pounce on you and begin the slow devouring of what is left after the attack. Really amazing sights and sounds, you are the best of this craft Martin.
what a spectacular show.well done on capturing it.thank you for sharing it with us.
Your videos of eruption are the best out there.
Amazing photography! Thank you for showing your incredible videos, just done a bit of research on this volcano and it seems to be a big mission just to be able to get there as it is quite remote plus you have a lot of climbing through jungle to reach the summit. Would love to see it myself but very unlikely.
Probably the best video of an eruption I've ever seen! It's so good it looks fake! Thank you for sharing!
Martin Rietze Thank you very much for this wondwrful video of vulcano Krakatau you Are so brave 👏👏👏👍👍❤️🌋
Really amazing footage of volcanic eruptions.
Please share your tips of how to capture the best moments of volcanic eruptions. Many thanks in advance.
The emissions really take pretty much the whole surface of the hill inside the huge crater. Might explain why Ibu's summit is so large.
It's crater is like a pan of red hot sand. It is not releasing so much solid material in these footages, but it releases plenty of gases which stirs this pan of red hot sand. The lava just return on the surface and get reheated.
@@kevinv.m.94 the big pan is mother=ibu inside the pan has a kid=anak😍🤣
Spectacular and awe-inspiring! Subscribed.
Amazing footage 👍👍👍👍
Amazing. But how did you keep that filming live and not one shake on the camera and how can the sound continue when the video changes completely at 3mins
Spectacular footage!!
Wow - amazing footage !
Thank you Martin, to bring us see how beauty and scary on volcano eruption
Really love your videos
Nice work.. that's an awesome view. You guys did it great
Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.
Incredible video! Thanks for sharing! Where did you take the video from?
What is the distance from your point to the eruption place? Did you stay there the whole time, or just the camera? :)
Fantastic footage !!!
Gracias por compartir estas bellísimas imágenes del poder de estas explosiones volcánicas. Un trabajo de video buenísimo y estremecedor el sonido o mejor dicho, el rugido que produce este volcán :-)
What type of camera do you use to record this video? It looks very clear despite of nighttime darkness
Sony a7 series, with f/1,4 lenses. Additional denoisre per software.
Incredible footage!!! Wow
Amazing!! How far away are you from the crater when filming this?
Just one question, how far away are you from the volcano?
Awesome power, awesome video!👏👏👏
Wow that's awesome.... thanks and God bless you
Seriously, thats beautiful and amazing
Do you have an estimate of the dimensions of the "light grey ash" area the surrounding the "vent"? In camera it looks so "small", but i´m sure it must be quite large and it would be very interesting to know how big it is compared to the average human.
Andres Franciso Setti The Crater is 1.600 meters wide, the grey ash coloumn is about 900 meters wide...
Scary but really beautiful. Majestic!
Amazing footage!
The ultimate fireworks! Phenomenal ! The Volcano speaks for itself.
Your the best thankyou ♥️
Nice video. Very close shot. Thank you for uploading this video with natural sounds of volcano.
Outstanding footage!
Something that really stands out watching your videos, Martin, is that the sound of an erupting volcano is more like a loud "huffing" than the noises that get foleyed onto Hollywood films. I guess it must depend on the type of eruption? Is it the case that bangs mostly happen when the ejection is supersonic?
The lightning flashes are amazing.
