Benny doing tutorials should be considered an EVENT… even though I have more than 10 years of experience in Photoshop I still learn a lot with you, thank you for that dude!!!
I'm so glad you updated this tutorial! I always love watching you adding highlights to your edits, but never fully understood the process, can't wait to give it a go myself!
I literally found the last tutorial on RUclips for the first time last week and now you drop a new one, perfect timing lol (last one was really helpful)
One of the best ways to observe light bounce is to shine a torch off things and notice how your entire surrounding actually affects your highlights. For photographers Grass can be a pain in the arse since you will get (like on a green screen) a very slight hue shift of green. A good way to add highlights also is to use the exposure in Camera RAW WITH the tint/white balance. So yes this IS "realistic" for a studio situation, but not realistic for a composite situation.
I literally have been using the old method from ur first video, and now with the exposure over the hue saturation layer, my thumbnails i work on for clients are gonna get 1000% better. Thank you Bennt
I think you really can't do much. I know for example with colors = you have green grass with a little bit of highlights and you want to make it blue from dusty planet. You can make it gray and then colorize it again (hue/saturation) with blue, that way the highlights are a little bit less visible. But for strong shadows and highlights only levels will work but it will create bad effect
Benny when I saw this Tutorial I was literally crying, filled with joy in my heart, please don't forget about the followers, all of us want to learn, teach us brother Ben, you are the best for real God bless you
If you attentively watched his videos you would already know these tricks, here and there he talked and showed all about these. I am very very very glad you enlightened us again with your tutorials, you are the one that I can easily understand. There were parts I couldn't catch up when I watched the videos, now I understand everything. Thanks a lot, Benny!
Thank you Benny, for this tutorial. This one is so much better than your old one. You go into more detail and I think the image of Freddy you used to showcase the process is much better than the one you used in your last tutorial, as Freddy is very roundish, making it so there's more places for light to scatter, making it more clear to the viewer, when demonstrating where the light is supposed to go.
Gteat tutorial and editing. And I do want to point out that "practice" is not enough. Understanding how light works and how objects react and receive light, one needs to learn those principles. And then, yes, practice and it wont be hard anymore. But first, learn! You, Benny, have a solid understanding and knowledge of those principles and I like how you present it. Thanks!
I wish there was someone out there like Benny for Affinity Photo. I love how well Benny accomplishes beautiful artwork. I can't afford Photoshop so I have Affinity.
Not sure if I am a fan of the mustache. btw. I have learned so much about lighting just from watching this channel over the past couple of years, but a Tutorial on it is still great.(I know tutorials are a rarity here)
For so long I had no idea you could split the "blend if" marker... man, so much headache it could've saved me in the past with my wonky workarounds lol. Good stuff!
I never comment, but from time to time Benny, you should make some of these tutorials, you do so much cool stuff, and I always want to learn how you do it:)
This video was really cool. I've been tryna develop my skills with photoshop, and this video was exactly what I wanted. Thank you for you constant tips.
*Hey Benny, Helpful tip here:* Instead of using a hard brush and later later erasing in order not to spill over into the shadows, have you ever tried selected out the area you'd like to paint with the lasso or marquee tool and re-selecting the brush and starting to paint? It makes it so much easier and you don't have to go back in and erase the areas that you didn't mean to paint into!
So stoked you made this man! Already have learned a lot by just watching your regular stuff and paying attention to your layers but this was super helpful! I know you’re not keen on tutorials but I (and everyone else I’m sure) really appreciate them and would 100% love more of them!🤟🏼
Impressed how you achieve that in one mask - that really requires knowing your brushing and knowing the process! I'd be forever knocking into bits of soft mask and screwing it up 😂 I look forward to giving this a go, thanks Bennnyyyy! 🤜
you explained really well, great job, the only thing is make sure you fill everything with the highlight and not forget the Microphone for the pink side, like benny forgets about it, so always double check the draft once it done. :) thank you so much!
This is perfect!.... Now I just need to have Photoshop, so close but so far, damn XD . . . . . . . . . . . Even so, I will try to apply it as best I can on the app that I use on the phone, thanks
You have no idea how long I (And probably everyone else) have been waiting for a new tutorial from you Benny! Thanks a ton!
Um guys is this freddy fazbear?!?
I’m with you… we have all been waiting! I check his yt page almost every week to see if there’s any new tutorial 🤲🏻

Benny doing tutorials should be considered an EVENT… even though I have more than 10 years of experience in Photoshop I still learn a lot with you, thank you for that dude!!!
HOLY SHIT dude that part where you explained the difference between lightness and exposure was so important for me to learn THANK YOU!
I'm so glad you updated this tutorial! I always love watching you adding highlights to your edits, but never fully understood the process, can't wait to give it a go myself!

oh my god it’s the clickbait man
dude i have been awaiting for 8 years for that movie!

Yes finally another Tutorial!
I would love to see a tutorial in quite the opposite, how to flatten things out like removing harsh lights and shadows
I agree... like removing the original lights/shadows from subjects so you have more flexibility when painting your own.
I think you really can't do much. I know for example with colors = you have green grass with a little bit of highlights and you want to make it blue from dusty planet. You can make it gray and then colorize it again (hue/saturation) with blue, that way the highlights are a little bit less visible.

Keep up the good work! It's crazy that you're actually willingly doing another tutorial tho. Nice one!
he's probably running out of ideas due to the whole ai thing lmfao
A week ago I was literally thinking “man I wish Benny would do another lighting tutorial” and here it is! Thanks for reading my mind Benny!
Maybe the one above heard your prayers. Have a great day.
Benny when I saw this Tutorial I was literally crying, filled with joy in my heart, please don't forget about the followers, all of us want to learn, teach us brother Ben, you are the best for real God bless you
