"The Earthmen" by RAY BRADBURY Classic Radio SciFi • Best Stories from ESCAPE!

- Another Ray Bradbury story done by Escape, and it's another job well done. Suspense and Escape were the first two series to produce his stories, and I have to say that these productions are equal to (probably better) than those done in the Bradbury 13 series from the 1980's. You just can't beat an original! This is another "First men on Mars" type story, but if you've never heard it you'll be surprised as to how the earthmen are treated! Also listen for the great original sound effects, as Escape's sound creators had to be the first to figure out what an alien firearm might sound like. The
story by Bradbury is a personal favorite.
Audio Quality improved over older uploads elsewhere.

Great episode. Hans Conried as the Doctor is so exasperating! "Oh gladly me boy! Gladly!"
Yay, Bradbury! I've never read or heard this one before, what a nightmare dilemma to be in, thanks again!
Bradbury, as a writer, was head and shoulders above All sci-writers.
Great story and good quality audio. Nice to hear classic science fiction presented so well for a change. I have duly subscribed.
Thank you so much for your kind words and thanks for subscribing. I agree! In almost every case, the productions by Escape and Suspense capture the writer's intent. I've been a fan of Ray Bradbury since I was eight years old.
Fantastic story Bradbury could do it better than anyone.
Another chilling, thoughtful story...thank you again!! ❤️💯
Just now got your comment! As always, thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts!

+Violet Femme I'm glad you enjoyed this one - How are you doing?
@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered Eh, good days and bad. So many family issues, the latest being we had to put my mom in a Memory Care Facility as her Alzheimer's has gotten so bad none of us can handle her. It seems like each time I'm getting over one tragedy, something else happens. I'm starting to be afraid to answer my phone.
@@violetfemme411 I understand completely. There came a point when I had to put my dad in a nursing home. Also (and I was hesitant to tell you) that I too, have good days and bad. Of all things ten days ago my wife fell and fractured her leg. She had emergency surgery, and now she's in residential physical therapy (again) They won't let me visit her at all, due to Michigan's governor proclaiming that hospital patients cannot have visitors (among other BS restrictions) Hey! I see you have another new photo - You should know that I'm a sucker for light blonde hair!! It's always good to hear from you, so post your thoughts anytime - I'll always respond! - Charlie
@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered I will. Thank you Charlie and know I will keep both you and your wife in my thoughts.
+Violet Femme Thank you. I will think of you, too. Stay safe and take good care of yourself - Charlie

Free society and the judiciary by a life sentence is that dry weather.
Although the actors were great but it would be great if some “New Blood “ came in
I know! There's a typo on the cover-art - My sincere apologies to Mr. Bradbury.
Good
I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for listening to my uploads!
Still a great version of the story - but I think I remember the doctor shooting himself. When the “hallucinations” persisted after he had killed all of the Earthmen - that indicated that the doctor himself was now insane. (Maybe that was considered too grim for old time radio?)
I wonder how they will react to a bullet 😂
3 o clock earth time?🤔
The question is what time is it on Mars right now? It could be close to the same!
Wasn’t very good.
