This is when LD was 22 and LCW was 23 yrs old. They played at faster pace compare to current young players like Axelsen or Srikant. They dont look that tired even after such a long match while player like Axelsen physically struggle in the 3rd game.

@@tts6750 If there is a system that allows players to play more aggressively without having to conserve so energy then that is the 21 pts with rally scoring system. The 15 pts system is actually longer and crueler because of the score by serving rule. The reason they switched to the 21 pts with rally scoring system was to make the game shorter and more television entertaining with players playing more aggressively instead of conserving. For LD and LCW to play like that in the 15 pts system is incredible.

If any of them never choked, it would be back and forth far more often than LD taking more wins. LCW is a timid person so he doesnt handle pressure in front of a crowd too well compared to the very extroverted Lin Dan. Momota has great mental game compared to all players today but sadly will never reach the level of LD or LCW. Way too slow and nowhere near their peak fitness level.

It's not underrated at all. This match is actually among the list of top 10 greatest matches between them. I personally think it has to be at least top 3. Just that not many young badminton fans nowadays know about it. Both players played with such consistency, with very minimal errors and the pace was so fast throughout the entire match. This match lasted for 96 min where most of matches nowadays are not even 80 min long.

Lin dan is god. Speed, reflexes, power, endurance, footwork, technique. All you need in badminton he has that.
If nowadays lads like Axelsen, Momota, Chen Long would compared to those when they retired, they could have chance to be compared to those 3 kings. For Super Dan? This lads needs much work
The other 3 were kings.
Chong Wei has amazing footwork that made up his great defense, stamina, court control, dives, reflexes, badminton iq, great technique especially infront of net. He's a good example for counter attack type. But somehow struggling on big points. He was weakest of mental points among 4.
Peter Gade, honestly I don't see him much play. But I know, he has technique, patience, great mental, physical ability. His trick shot absolutely smooth.
Taufik has amazing technique, gifted wrist that makes him very good at backhand, badminton iq, smash power, smooth technique but bit weak on mental game compare another 3. He's very emotional at younger and easily distracted. Also he's weakest with stamina among 4.

sistem score waktu sekarang lebih baik karena pemain lemah persentase peluang lebih baik menghadapai pemain hebat.di banding waktu dulu . coba bayangkan sistem score dahulu di terapkan sekarang. sektor tunggal putri mungkin hanya milik tty atau chen yufei. hanya bisa di kacaukan oleh akane. tapi nyatanya marin,itanon ,nozomi,sindhu masih berpeluang.

This game should be held as an example of why the old scoring system made for greater entertainment. You simply don't get that momentum swinging back and forth between players with today's scoring system. Coming back from 6 -13 down and winning 17 - 14. Epic game!
