Another amazing video. 👏 My favorite shots are the long falcon chases. It blows my mind how the lowly pigeon is able to evade a supreme aerial predators like a Peregrine Falcon and Goshawk.
My favorite are also the long chases. Unfortunately I missed many sensational ones because of the video gear or simply because I need to stop filming to save pigeons that get back to the loft after escaping the falcon - the hawk tries to grab them right above the loft, very annoying.
Again I'm impressed. First off I love an open loft with the birds on the ground eating all the grass and other stuff they can, then your flock urgently blows off with a raptor in the air bent on a meal. Good pigeons are bred but they are also made by their environment which includes avian predators. Years ago a fancier sold me 5 Meulemans which almost danced around the goshawks and the occasional prairie falcon that gave chase. So I got some more from another fancier, all of them ended up as hawk food. The first fancier was a breeder and racer the other simply let the pigeons breed. Anyway I gave a couple of the good youngsters to a friend, they escaped from 40 miles and were home that evening even though they'd never seen the inside of a training basket. Keep up the great videos, they make my day!

For me the hawks are much more dangerous and annoying because they try to enter the loft and attack at the loft nonstop. Two days ago I almost lost the entire flock, they almost remained in flight for the night, a hawk would attack everytime they tried to get down to the loft. It was getting dark and it kept attacking. After about 3 hours of flying, I was able to get them down (while they were entering the loft the hawk was coming again, as announced by the magpies).
@@Pigeonmaniacom So the video is not a hawk, but children. In their development, they are approximately equal to your late pigeons born after August. These hawks haven't even reached puberty yet. I would like to see the daily attacks of parents in an adult hawkish coloring. Daily. It would be a massacre. In despair, the falcon just flew away, because it would be difficult for him to compete there. And about your hawks, pay attention, you help the pigeons to fall into the attic, you frighten the hawk. Pigeons should not fall into the attic, this is already a deviation and a manifestation of weakness, and if it were not for you, these young hawks would have caught some of the surviving pigeons right on the roof of the attic
Your peregrine falcon is hunting aggressively. I have never seen such attacks on my dovecote. And Russian pigeon breeders are filming a peregrine falcon attack, complete nonsense compared to your peregrine falcon. But your hawks, as if on the handbrake, stop attacks too quickly, especially in pursuit of racing pigeons, which do not differ in sharp maneuvers, they are easier to chase than wild birds (forest pigeons, jackdaws), but hawks give up. ... too fast ... Let's see what happens next, these first year hawks are very good and already doing well, I think they will gain experience over the winter.
I know what you mean with the hawks giving up early. They don't give up early with sick or fat untrained pigeons, they know after a short chase if it is worth the effort to continue. I've seen much longer chases but couldn't film because they involved a lot of flying between houses.
@@Pigeonmaniacom Yes, as a teenager, reading Soviet literature, I knew about the theory that a predator catches weak, sick and inferior victims. But when I faced the migration of the goshawk in 1990-2000, I saw that the hawk can also hunt strong, healthy prey. His aggression depends on the number of his victims. And when this number falls, the hawk gives more energy to catch a healthy prey. Yes, the average attack lasts about 30-40 seconds, but sometimes the hawk drives the victim for more than 1 minute, from 1 to 3 kilometers.
@@Dimarik73rus привет Дима как думаешь если тебе прислать 30 этих голубей выживут ли они у тебя за зиму может ли эти почтари противостоять голодному взрослому тетерю

🤦🏻If he is not ashamed, the hawk will enter the cage .
High powered rifle with a scope. What counrty are you in ill come an do it for free.
