Weve got 2 potential. real nice 'power forward" type players that I wish would find their Shanahan. Givani Smith being the other. I love his shot from that left side.
never seen anything from joe that's made me think he's worth keeping. roll him up with staal and rassmussen and rotate them out. i really though rasmussen would come into his own this season, but he's another mantha. big body, potential, takes plays and games off.
Joe's still young and has been playing pretty decent this year. Obviously not putting up points but he's hard on the forecheck and is always skating hard every shift. He creates good pressure always putting in 100% effort. If he doesn't improve much by the end of next season then yeah we can be worried but I'd say give him a chance.
Rasmussen isn't even close to Mantha. Mantha could score, set up plays and fight (although he gets injured a lot)...Rasmussen does none of those things. Ras is just big (doesn't play like it) and takes faceoffs. Veleno is learning and works hard, might top out as a good 3rd line center.
He’s not jelling with the guys at all probably because he doesn’t bring anything to the team like nothing at all. Sure Gagne is trying to give him pointers but thats his role, Joe missing that empty net goal and also being in horrible positions defensively throughout the season are the story of his performance. His hockey sense is just not where it should be, hockey sense and IQ isnt something you learn, its something you just have and he my friends does not have it. Don’t believe me? He has 6 pts in his last 4 games. 4 pts in the AHL and 2 pts in the NHL. Hes producing. Seems like theyre developing his defensive game being on the forth line and playing with Gagner. We'll more than likely see him on the 3rd line with Berggren next season.
