A walkthrough of the ZX Spectrum game, Batman: The Movie. From the recording originally sent to www.rzxarchive.co.uk/ #ZXSpectrum #RetroGaming #Walkthrough
I am now almost 48 years on 5th March 2022. But I cannot help going back on a time machine in 1990 my Father bought me a Sinclair Zx Spectrum. Yes he bought me this game Batman I is used to spend hours playing this game. My Father died in 2014 but his memory remains forever till I die in the firm if Sinclair Zx Spectrum 128K and Batman - The Movie Game. The music is amazing in this game
A very solid, polished, fun and unique game, brought to life by Jonathan Dunn's outstanding music. He didn't actually use Danny Elfman's iconic movie theme, but complemented it perfectly, drawing upon Elfman's brooding gothic tone and epic chords. Just a shame the game isn't a bit longer, and the level 1 music isn't re-used.
Same thoughts here! Even though it's not the movie soundtrack, it still suits the game and captures the 'feel' of the movie perfectly. Dunn did an excellent job with it.
@@TromaDogg He _Dunn_ a good job with it! LOL :D If anyone is interested, the 1989 Batman is my favourite Batman movie. I'm actually not a fan of Tim Burton at all, but the ground was already laid for the movie to be great before Tim joined the production, and he made it look nice. But I wasn't keen on Batman Returns as it's just pure Burton "style over substance" IMHO. And of course the next two sequels were way off the mark! (Hilariously so!) The Nolan films were certainly good, but I find they just lack a bit of magic, colour, and old-school charm. For me, the 1989 had an appeal that hasn't been repeated since - a great blend of fantasy and reality, of dark and wholesome. And of course, that amazing soundtrack! :-)
@@Scripture-Man Very true. Agree with pretty much all of that. The 1989 movie was lightning in a bottle, where all the elements came together perfectly. Burton went way too much style over substance with Batman Returns, the Nolan trilogy were too relentlessly serious and dark at times (and the last one, The Dark Knight Rises isn't even a very good movie in my opinion) and the Schumacher movies...eeeehhhh....:( I'm interested to see how The Batman will turn out, but from the trailers it looks like it's trying to be like the Nolan trilogy, unfortunately.
Thanks. I usually try to show the full music if possible. Some people don't like it, but the beauty with RUclips is that you can easily skip it if you want.
Warner’s really knew what they were doing with these licenses, Ocean did a great job on the CPC style-based microcomputer games. The spectrum, Amiga and CPC ones and a few others are all based on a similar style. Sadly the spectrum one doesn’t have a 3D Style car level like the arcade and Amiga version.
Much, much better (and more fun) than the 3-D version (couldn’t stand that game). Think Mike Lamb was/is a really good programmer. He also did Top Gun, Renegade and Target Renegade.
I have first an Enterprise 128 and this game i have to... just think of a litle in... this game load time is same like the Walktrough (tape loading) but we play it almost every week! Thets mean the diference the old time players....
How far we have come in 30 years when you play a game such as ''red dead redemption 2'' I cant see how we can imagine a game in another 30 years. i can only imagine it been lifelike.. atm 8k is possible im sure by 2050 we will have perfect clarity true-vision 5D gaming beamed to our eyedrops / contact lens / glasses.. whichever the masses will accept.. wireless gaming transmitted to our eyes and auditory system. Even as of now watching movies and playing games on a flat surface in front of me seems ... archaic. I hope im around to see gaming in 2050.. considering i owned the telstar console with one game '' pong'' it came with 2 controllers .. and when i say controller i meant a stick with a dial on the top..
I'm sorry but people blow so much smoke up the Spectrum's ass, with this game i have to strongly disagree, the Amsrad cpc version blows it out water.....
The Amstrad version's good but the music on the Batwing stage is much slower and sounds awful compared to the Speccy one, which does kind of spoil it for me.

Unbelievable game for the Spectrum!!! Very good animation, graphycis and sound. At the time, this game made me feel I play on a 286!
Remember getting this for Xmas 😂
One of the Specs best movie ports.
Сума сойти можно было, когда это было у меня. Загрузка с кассеты, протирание спиртиком головки магнитофона , черно белый тв рекорд , и год так 92
What a great version!
Actually, each version of this game was great!

Matthew Cannon did the music. Brilliant tunes.
Yeah, it was Matty Cannon who did this score. Jonathan Dunn did RoboCop
Damn... Didn't realise any Speccy games were this impressive.
They're all this impressive! ;)
Nice work. I like how you left the menu on so that people can listen to the full music track.

I loved this game so much when I could get it to load 😄
The player didn't use the Batmobile's cable on the post to turn properly, like in the movie.

I always remember the music for this game, the 128 music got to be the best out of all the ports especially the first level music,
Игра бомба
The balloon popping level was much harder than the Amiga version.
Thanks for the video. It is pity, that there is not any better ending sequence.... :(

Interesting thoughts, though personally I think the future of videogames is old-school 8-bit and 16-bit style :-)
We came very far in the last 30 years, but if you look at games 10 years ago, there isn't that much of a difference. Progress slowed down.
Super!!!
I pity the kid with a ZX Spectrum
Охрененная была игра в свое время, вот про крыс забыл в последнем уровне
I thought this was amazing in 1989, but it looks so dull now...
I was just speaking to Batman and he said he thinks you look dull now! :D
Most Spectrum games are just terrible but I suppose this one and Robocop prove that you could still get something decent on this machine.
Spectrum R-Type is a fantastic conversion.

What a pile of BATCRAP!!!!!!!
