I am a 44 year old who recently decided to change careers and be part of this exciting new reality - tech jobs. I am looking into blockchain, solidity, smart contracts development with JavaScript. First what are your thoughts on this new technology and second, are there any consideration from google in this area?

I'm not going to comment on Google's behalf, but you can view Google's current job listings regarding blockchain here: bit.ly/google-blockchain-jobs Hope that helps!
Working at Google looks awesome, never going to be smart enough to get there though. We literally have to pay for all the soda, coffee, snacks, food, etc... that you get for free. That's pretty much all the deterrent you need to not over consume on sugary stuff in the office. lol
Hey, I'm sure you're smart enough to work at Google. Have you gone through the interview process before? Also yes 😅 I have eaten soo much sugary stuff in the office, I think I gained 15 lbs when I first joined.
@@yourfriendintech Yeah I've interviewed a couple times over the years and never get past the tech phone screen. I'm a very slow coder which doesn't help in these limited time interviews. @@upcoding434 I'm not too familiar with any udemy courses so unfortunately I have none to recommend. If you want to improve as a programmer, you need to practice. That's awesome! To be honest I'm not well versed on the technology, but I personally find it interesting, it's definitely a hot field right now. I'm not going to comment on Google's behalf, but you can view Google's current job listings regarding blockchain here: bit.ly/google-blockchain-jobs Hope that helps!
Nice video love from India🇮🇳
Thanks chandra! 🇮🇳
Love your video brother..
My dream is to join google and I know my dream will come true..💞
You can do it! 👍
Hey, Why those Bicycles have only one brake on the Right side? Anyway amazing video please make more of these.
Thanks Shibalik! I think it's standard here to have just one brake on the right side
@@yourfriendintech So there is no brake in the front wheel ?
@@shibalikdhara7123 Yeah the bikes are just for getting around campus, they're not meant for high speed riding
Nice, Thank you Man for your precious time .
In Google everyday is a good day 😅😁
True! 😄
Great video... really inspiring!!
Thanks Sambhav! 😄
google office 😍
Amazing bro
Thank you! 🔥
I could probably solve these problems with completed code if given 6+ hours but not 45 minutes. My brain does not compute and translates things as fast as you Googlers even with 14 YOE.
Ahh yes, I understand. I think there are a lot of areas where interviews can be improved, including cases like this. Sorry to hear that =\
...nice for you to do some quick massage and enjoy the relaxing ride home... do you commute everyday? such a relaxing way of going to work by riding, saves time, energy and gas (or are Google shuttle electric?)... thanks as always in sharing your day-in-a-life series ... #StaySafe
Hey Emil! I don't commute everyday, but when I do go into the office I ride the bus - I think they use gas - and it's super nice not having to worry about driving in traffic
nicely covered every part of campus
The campus is actually a lot larger than what I've shown! I'll share more parts in future videos 😄
Awesome video by the way
Thanks Craig! I appreciate it 😄👍
Just one question is it necessary to be good at Math to crack Top product based company interview. Please answer my query. Thank you.
Not necessarily. You don't need to know advanced maths, but you should know basic math and how to use standard math operations
Skin is flawless! Just had to say that. *continues watching vid*
Thanks Whitney! It's mostly the lighting 😅 I wish my skin actually looked like this!
geez those calves man!
Hahaha, you're the 2nd person to comment on my calves 🤣
Bro love your video
Thanks Kundan!
@@yourfriendintech sir jon
Best wishes for you...❤️❤️
Same to you! 😄
Here in the philippines Google account also have a free food and gaming station. 😉
Awesome, I would love to visit the Google office in the Philippines! 🇵🇭
I want to work at Google too. Maybe we will work after a few years. I'm 16 now I'm frontend dev. Maybe mid-level. What should I do to get hired at Google? Because I time until then.
Wow, very impressive! Google actually has a high school program called the Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI) that you may be interested in
@@yourfriendintech thank you very much it starts next year but until I improve my skills and next year I and sorry for asking questions again, what courses can you recommend until then from udemy or something else?
@@upcoding434 I'm not too familiar with any udemy courses so unfortunately I have none to recommend. If you want to improve as a programmer, you need to practice. Since you already have frontend dev experience, you may want to gain experience in backend development - try looking for udemy courses where you need to create a web app where you can create both the front and backend.
hi
can we switch projects if for example we are not comfortable with a project that our team is doing
and
want to switch to cloud project team as a software engineer
is it possible and easy ??
There is a process for switching teams. I haven't personally done it but I've heard that it's pretty straightforward
@@yourfriendintech oh ok thanks for the reply
There's a freaking bowling alleyyyy
People call it an overrated perk but I think it's pretty cool!
@@yourfriendintech I think it's cool too. I typically go 3x a month. If it's free that awesome n super cool
Yeah it's free! I've only used it a few times since starting, I'm not the best bowler 😅. That's pretty cool that you go so often, do you compete in tournaments or just for fun?
@@yourfriendintech Purely recreational with my peers in a club but I'm hoping to join a local league in the future. Not the best bowler also 🙈 (hs: 130) but so much improvement from practicing!
That's a great score! Practice makes progress 👍👍 keep it up!
How do you become so good in typing? I can’t even type with out looking into the keyboard 😢
Through practice - I type so much everyday that I've become super efficient at it. If you want to become a better typer and have fun, there are typing games that you can play - just look up "fun typing games"
@@yourfriendintech thank you
Look at that google office. straight out from a show or something 😅
The Internship movie did a pretty good job of representing the offices (all the other stuff not so much 😅)
beautiful campus
Gym is open? 😮 Austin one isn't yet!!
Yeah! We have to reserve times beforehand so that too many people aren't in at the same time
Quick question: does google have Helpdesk/desktop support? Is in internal or they use external vendor?
Yup! we have internal support
@@yourfriendintech cool. I’m a desktop support for a financial firm in nyc. Is there a site where I can look to see if they are hiring for the nyc office?
Google has a Careers page with all the open job listings

I use a Pixel 📱

I think a more accurate title would be Mobile/Platform Developer
> Has two 27inch monitors
> Uses his 15inch laptop screen
I got a new laptop since I've last been in the office, so I didn't have the correct cables to use my monitors 😅
