    So f*ing concise, clear, to the point. Other how-to's on IKEA tend to ramble and bring in far too many asides. For a quick and dirty beginning tutorial this is an A+. Thanks so much for making it!

    It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.

    Tip! The feet have a tendancy to fall off. To prevent this, buy some 14mm small washer head scews.
    Take a look at the black foot plate; you will notice that there is a hole in it.
    Fit the foot plate as instructed by by ikea and then locate the little hole. Drive your washer head screw into the hole and then attach adjustable feet.
    A more secure fit. Hope that helps.

    Don't forget to square the doors to the cabinet body using the adjustment screws on the hinges, after the doors are mounted. The 3rd from the left door in the video is pretty far out of whack.

    You are so clear and concise. Our laundry room cabinets arrive Monday from Ikea. Our ceilings are 91.5" and I want to install the upper cabinets as close to the ceiling as possible. How far down from the ceiling can we go with the suspension rail (taking into consideration we will install the smallest crown molding to finish it off)? Thank you in advance!

    • @DIYDudes
      @DIYDudes  Год назад +2

      Measure from the top of the cabinet down to the top of the inside of the upper metal hook that clips onto the rail. That distance will be the amount you need above the top of the rail to the ceiling
      I would at add at least a 1/4”. It will be a very tight fit since you have to lift the anchor point over top of the rail for it to sit on the anchor which is at least a 1/4”

      Hey Tricia they came with the cabinets. But they are partial board screws with the length 1/4 “ less then the material I’m screwing together (so you don’t punch through)

    Thanks for doing this video. I notice that you can just about see the white frame behind your doors. Once they're fulling installed and adjusted can you still see the white or is it hidden? Wish ikea made the frames to match the colour of the doors to avoid this issue!

      Hey there yeah the doors adjust so

      Universal so they are more customizable

    Thanks for the vid. Any particular reason you built a base for the bottom instead of using the hanging rail there?

    • @DIYDudes
      @DIYDudes  2 года назад +3

      I had a sump pump under the main cabinet and a lot of messy plumbing. I had to cut the base cabinet pretty significantly so I wanted to make sure it had a solid support.
      Lots of people build bases for the cabinets rather than the rail though. Both ways work great.
