Hello Kathleen, thank you for the informative video! I curious about the technique - I see yourbouquet and some other famous studios’ works - it doesn’t seem to be put together in spiral technique. Could you maybe elaborate a bit on how necessary or not the spiral technique is when creating wedding bouquets? Thank you! Have a lovely week🤍🙏🌿

Yes I will definitely do more bouquet videos this year - when it comes to my wedding bouquets, I don't spiral. But when it comes to shop work and doing daily flower deliveries, I do. I've found that the mechanics and techniques we all use are so different. It's just about finding the mechanic that allows you to create the look you're after.🥰

@@LittleBirdBloom thank you for sharing your opinion and experience! True, I totally see that in works of different designers.

Do you have any experience with with skin sensitivities, or wrapping techniques for those with them?
I recently had an allergic reaction to statice sap of all things (which isn't a known irritant), and it's been a bit of a nightmare, and still not healed fully after 3 weeks.
I grew them myself and had no idea I could be allergic. I grow lots of different things and am learning bonsai, drying flowers and pressing flowers and never had an issue.
It made me wonder about bridal bouquets. The fashion is to have exposed stems at the moment, but what if the bride has a reaction? Or even just staining on the dress?
I realised too there's a lot of known irritating flowers in bouquets like queen annes lace, chrysanthemum, etc
Would love to hear your thoughts!

Oh that's awful 😟 We've worked with lots of clients that have hayfever + allergies but I've never had a customer who had skin sensitivities. I've had skin irritation issues when I've come in contact with the sap from cutting the stems and I've heard similar stories from other florists. It might be worth just adding in that question with your clients, the next time you're doing wedding work. It also makes me value the ribbon finishing even more. It's kinda like a protective barrier 🥰

@@LittleBirdBloom oh I'm sorry you've experienced skin irritation too. That makes sense, the ribbon would definitely be a barrier. Thank you 😊
