We do all kinds of weird shit on carpet and on road. Use mode and lower epa to save battery for 4-5 laps and then click to -100. Gotta just try it and see if it works. The trick is to find the right gear to only have to shift one time
I was able to pick Mark Vyne’s brain a bit to get some help this weekend and this was exactly what he was telling me to start using! Really good info here!
Love all your information like usual I'm probably one of the only drivers out there that drives with my finger not the electronics of the radio because I come from on road racing or you have to know how to drive otherwise you just won't win I can't seem to get away from that I love all the electronic features in my sanwa radio I personally enjoy driving with my finger because I believe it's more challenging and yes all of you have heard me say that's cheating but if the technology is there use it peace out another great video love the information keep up the good work
Chad, I like how you have the EPA on your custom Page. I need to do this don't know why I never thought of this before now LOL As always very good information on here Thanks for what you do for us lil guys
Sweet man. Rember if you’re running a tekin type or castle esc we used to lower epa. So you might see some of that floating around as well. This concept is for when you use something like an r1 or also a castle when you need or can use 100 and more. Kind of a 2021-2022 comparison
Hey bud have a question for you. I remember you doing a video of some fl1 boards running betaflight. Was there anything I need to change in the way I hook up stuff when it's running betaflight. I got so many revoltosd and millivolt osd I wanna run bf on. At least I think I remember you doing this anyways. Correct me if I'm wrong lol
could only use 1 wire for the receiver. so no telemetry. it worked with crossfire and tracer..should be fine with elrs. you can get the wiring diagram off their website and it should be fine
I don't drag race, but for most ESCs you calibrate it when you first hook it up and it makes the transmitter/receiver and ESC line up so that 150 EPA is where you get 100% of your throttle. If I set my EPA to 110 instead of 150 it means I'm losing a third of my power. You could have EPA at 150 but reduce the throttle "RATE" to 50 and you'll get 50% of that 150 power. This didn't make sense to me but maybe it's a drag racing thing? I don't have a Sanwa either so apparently I'm missing something.
@@Dorkyand40 it doesn't do as much as the m17 but we have figured out how to make it work with my r1 I tune everything in the esc and only use the epa and Chanel speed for steering and throttle I'm not in the 1.9s yet but very close
@@billynichols1008 your usuing End Point adjustment with Throttle speed go on the Nb4 ? What are you doing with the End point ,It only goes up or down ? I use combination of Throttle Speed Go with Expo F and Rate F, never heard of using the end point on NB4 ? Thanks
FYI, Thanks for the content, but there needs to be a little clarification on point in the throttle speed feature. disregarding EPA or assuming it's 100%, P#'s 1-10 in the TH curve are equal to 10% throttle for each P#. So if your pt is 17, you may not launching at 17%, persee. You are launcing eomewhere between P1 and 2. If your p# are linear, 10,20,30,40, etc then 17% would be your launch. However, say your p2 was 50%. 17 Pt on radio skips p1 and hits starts 17 to50% alsmost. The point in radio moves along the x axis. Another example. Say you had p#1-3 curves of 20,30,40. If you had a point of 30 speed, you would launch at 40% throttle or p 3. Every 10% in point correlates to one P#. This is a common misunderstanding that a lot of users have.
Might be an option. Never seen one or anyone demonstrate it can do what the m17 does and how to do it. That’s the big thing. Getting the most out of it. Like this video!

Quick question… would this work for an XRay X4 2024 for carpet racing?

futaba is nice but doesnt have all the tricks that the m17 still has to this day
Great info
So much to adjust on just the Radios these days it's crazy, thanks for the video

Lol Thanks chad I’ve always used my end points in my Flysky to turn down my Wife & grandson rc till they are ready for more power I keep them on 35%
Yeah that’s the usual. But then there no prep
Drag :) changes everything lol
Can a flysky fp7 do these things?
No idea. We never had that radio to play with back then.
Awesome video - I kept reading and hearing about EPA and now I know what it is -

@@Dorkyand40 Do you have to re calibrate or is it just an adjustment on the M17?
No. Keep calibration the same. If you recailibrste then you’re just making the new epa the new 100. Does nothing.

Yeah for sure. P curve tuning gets to be another monster for sure. Then throw in r1 curve and start power. Boy it’s a lot. Lol.
He is not using P curve. Like he said thats a whole different animal
Do you still calibrate the esc with the radio set to 100 epa or no using this method?
Regular calibration. If you change the epa and then calibrate then it just sees that value as the new 100.
This is for drag racing?
Yea
