Great video! Very helpful. I’m actually buying my first non rtr radio, and it happens to be a 7PXR. I’m also buying an Arrma TLR, and plan on upgrading it to the moon. This seems like a great way to gain control of your RC. I’ll give it a try, thx

Hey Brother Absolutely Awesome Video man and I know that the video is around a year old but it still rings true today and I am doing this very same exact thing and a few more things with it on my FUTABA T4PV and I absolutely love my FUTABA T4PV It has never ever even come close to letting me down and that right there is one of the main reasons I never went out to follow the crowd and buy the new FUTABA 4PM and the FUTABA 4PM PLUS not to mention that the FUTABA T4PV is essentially the same exact radio and I know a guy that did the FUTABA 4PM firmware update on the FUTABA T4PV and so far it works like a full blooded champ but Brother Thank You for all of the AWESOME information in the video I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future!!! Great setup man. Almost the same as mine on the breakout. I did make the jump to the sanwa m17 because there just seems to be so much more info out there on how to use all the features.
Hello I've only been playing with losi rc drag cars for a month now and are there any other controllers say like $100 you can do this or you can do something close to this with
Have you tried this with your castle setup? I have the 4pm and wondering if it’s possible, I saw some say it’s only a single stage, that might work for me. Thanks for your research, you’re helping me out!
Just have to point a camera at it and pull the throttle and then stretch it out in a timeline and see how long you can drag out that clip to get a reading
Check out my gearing video and you can see. I explain what I’m doing with the drk and remote. I’m going to follow up more on it. Their tunes are old now and they admit this so using radio tuning could be better if applied correctly.
i love my futaba 7... hey man what camera do you use for these vids all i have is a go pro hero 8 but after 12 min it cuts the video and starts over..thanks man.
I am on the fence between 7PXR and M17. From what I am seeing is M17 has a sing stage ramp, while 7PXR has 3 stage ramp. Is that the only difference to consider for No Prep?
I did a lot of research. I went with futaba so I could use a good radio and good priced receivers on all my cars. The fastest guys around me use both and only use single stage. Things can change though. I think the m17 has a few more tricks up it’s sleeve as well but I’m not 100% sure. If no prep continues on its growth path the esc software could take over and make the radio trick useless kind of like the drk does. All I can say is I really like the 7pxr so far and I know I will have it for a long time. Check out the bullet chassis Facebook group. Most of them seem to run the m17 with the rx8 and there’s is a lot of m17 talk there.
@@Dorkyand40 Thanks! I seen that group and almost went with Mark’s Bullet chassis but decided to go with 57Design “Arrow” and R1 ESC/Motor. I like the DRK stuff but I feel like tuning via radio is easier on the ESC since it’s not modulating the voltage in the same way. I could be wrong but that’s my view on it. Granted, I am 100% newb and I’m likely misunderstanding all of this lol. I am leaning towards 7PXR since it has ti ability to run a single stage ramp, like the M17, but there is room for growth if someone figures out a way to utilize more power with more stages.
All good points. One day I would try a drk. Their data logging and firmware has been designed for no prep so it’s way easier to see what your changes do. I’m struggling with the tekin data logger currently because the maclan is so nice it spoiled me. Enjoy that build. I just completed the breakout and I’m dialing it in now.
@@Dorkyand40 Using the DRK stages will this function with the 7PXR improve adjustability or is not needed? Im am currently running a losi stock chassis with the DRK160 and a Trinty 4.5 T. My best time with the car so far is a 2.3 turned down.

I have been using this on my Graupner X8E for escs that aren't launch programable and it has made a huge difference.
So the tim smith radio radio trick :)
Just got a used 4px in and I love it. Only has 3 stages but for under half the price I can’t argue!
3 stages on the 7 too

Thanks for the info, a friend of mine told me about this a few weeks ago, but this is pretty self explanatory and easy to understand. Thanks!!
Sure thing!

Appreciate it. Luckily the radio game is still the same in drag rc.
Throttle speed is your friend I like the three-stage but I only use it on 1/8 scale setups with low turn motors
Yeah. Sticking to 1 for now.
I use the Fataba pv3, it has throttle expo. Works great for a quick on the fly launch adjustments & its inexpensive.
Lot of ways to do all these things. Seems like spending the money on the sanwa gives you the best options right now outside of using a drk

Will it benefit me to use this feature in junction with drk ? Or will it make things to confusing?
Can u do launch control with 7px
i have had the radio for 4 years and never seen this thanks
Dx4rpro has had this for years. It’s under traction control and it works great!
Wow so this is like perfect pass 🎉
Hello I've only been playing with losi rc drag cars for a month now and are there any other controllers say like $100 you can do this or you can do something close to this with
No. I would try to find a used maclan if you want that much control without spending the big bucks
The flysky fs-g7p is affordable and has throttle and steering expo
@MX-CO but will it let you do the stuff the spectrum will as far as controlling throttle at different times
Looking to upgrade to a high end radio for no prep drag. Do you prefer the futaba 7pxr or the Sanwa m17?
M17. I have many videos here on the channel. Check ‘em out

I have the sanwa m17 now so I am using a lot of stages and throttle ramp.
yes you can do the same thing
Hey sir. Just found this today. Wanted to let people know the radio link rg4s does this as well but only has two stage. Much more affordable
So you think the m17 with the r mode is better then the 7pxr? For nprc? My 7px craped out and idk weather to get the 7pxr or m17 or wait for the t10px
The m17 makes drag racing better in a lot of ways. Check out the m12 as well
If I wanted to go crazy and time my ramp. How do I do that with a video editor?
Just have to point a camera at it and pull the throttle and then stretch it out in a timeline and see how long you can drag out that clip to get a reading
This is the way
i have spoken :)
Just watched this, very interesting.
I have a Futaba 3PV is it possible to do something the same with it?
Not sure but unlikely. My 7pxr didn’t have what was needed for this stuff
@@Dorkyand40 Thanks
Can you do this with the Futaba 3PV? Closest setting I can find is Throttle Esc
not too sure about that. thats a pretty basic one
Mythical tricks 😂😂😂 awesome man.
Thanks so much for the video brother
Lol. Anytime man.
Thanks for the info
No problem. It’s how people are winning
So it's safe to use the maclan dRk settings and the remote settings controlling the launch?
yes.. a lot do. run all 5 stages at 100 and 0.05 delay and set your turbo to what you want
