Two foot centers , no double band n no footers or a stable base , you might as well use drywall screws to hold it together too ....amateur hour at its best
Masterpiece right there!
Thank you I will continue to share what i learn and i will continue to learn from others.then perhaps we will be smarter
Good looking deck you & you're guys got going Dad
I hope in the future you will do a deck for an above ground pool. I have a 24 ft above ground pool similar to yours.
Have in the past may in the future.
good video, people be careful, the code in your area may not allow attaching a deck directly to a mobile home. It may need to be self supporting.
In my area , attaching to a mobile isn't allowed UNLESS the home is permanently blocked with a 'foundation' similar to a stick-built home.
I am building at this time a free-standing 10x16 'porch' with cover to replace old porch.
I have a video for that wether or not you should do that
Attaching it to the trailer is against building code. but no one‘s watching you except for RUclips 😂
Why??
I don't see how to attached the deck to the mobile home. is there a 2 X 6' used on the existing outside wall?
All floor joist are fastened to an outside 2 by 6 called a ridge beam . The frame is also connected to the ridge beam by metal outriggers and lag bolts the floor plywood sits on top of that 2 by 6 . The metal trim or vinyl siding trim is usually about 2 to 3 inches lower than that ridge beam fasten your deck to that. Wish you well on your projects
Thanks for the video. It would be better if you shot close ups of the work while it is being done, instead of the guy talking. That helps more to actually see the guy put in the lag bolts, up close. Plus it would be nice to see how you installed the decking and steps too.
You are right. Will do video the next deck I can film and will film all the way thru. This particular one an ice storm came in and we had a hard time getting out with truck and trailer. I intend to do better thanx for your patience.
Thanks to our current shyt govt wood is so expensive. I need to build 2 huge decks. In my new purchased manufacturer home.
You are not supposed to fasten a deck to a mobile home guys
Odd I didn't think it was an AREA ruling on attaching to a mobile home? I thought that was a HUD Rule. and illegal to attach a porch/deck etc to a mobile home. ( Unless it was designed for the structure at time of build)
Hud is housing and urban development. Used for financing specific housing . Yes they have rules on mobile homes. Like you must have block skirting. I have been involved in getting a house to qualify for the lower interest loans. Deck being attached has never been a problem. Perhaps county or city ordinances can be involved. I have some larger towns allow no mobile homes at all.
Why are you putting 8 inch lags when you only have to go through 3 inches the ledger and the house band
It was the size available at the lumber yard someone else had bought all 5 and 6 inch
According to the International Residential Code², adopted by most states, a deck does not need a building permit if it is “less than 200 square feet, under 30” off the ground, does not serve a required exit door, and is not attached to the dwelling“ - if it is freestanding.
Ledger boards are an invitation to disaster...
Don't attach your deck to your home.
Don't be stupid.
This video demonstrates the WORST way to make a deck.
This deck is not built ...it has been hung on a handful of fasteners.
I was thinking to myself……, WTF is going on here….. 🧐 😳 that’s not a very sturdy base and why would you put those 4x4 in the corner like that. 🤔
YES!!! This video is bad it’s funny:
@@joshschandoney5045 It literally is a guide for what not to do when building a deck...
I can hardly hear him talking. Sorry 😞
Chris Phil's wife, that's why I transcribed the video
Amateur hour
Literally how to build a deck the most difficult way possible with more people than necessary 🙅♂️🤦♂️
Cry about it

Uh huh
NOPE
It's ok do it your way. And I wish All the best
@@StraightArrowRepair sorry just trolling
Thanks for video 👍
Your building a deck with 2x4 you are making a shit deck. you should always use 2x6 for your base!
You are mistaken those are 2x6 perhaps i should have more clear
Maybe you should open your eyes because those are 2x6
